As the night fell, the city lights started to brighten.
Although there’s no traditional Valentine’s Day abroad, sweet young couples can still be seen everywhere on the streets.
The city center’s lights are too bright to see the stars, yet beauty perates every corner.
The night sky is vast, and the fragrance of flowers is delightful.
The last glow of the sunset vanished into the night, and the city lay ensconced in a blend of bustle and tranquility.
Jasmine Yale carried her bag ho from the company.
She applied a light touch of makeup and tidied her hair.
Not many clothes fit her after getting pregnant, and she spent quite a while picking from her wardrobe before settling on a light purple long dress. The dress was of a loose design, with white lace edges at the neckline and cuffs, stylish yet elegant, perfect for a birthday dinner!
Moreover, Jasmine Yale loved light purple, always finding it a dreamy color.
The dress was long, and despite being pregnant, Jasmine Yale looked especially beautiful in the mirror.
Unable to wear high heels, she opted for a pair of cream-colored leather shoes.
“Miss Yale, you look beautiful today.” Butler Santana entered, smiling as he looked at her, “The color of this dress suits you well and makes you look fairer.”
“Really?” Jasmine Yale smiled.
“Yes, if you don’t believe , ask the baby.”
“Little one.” Jasmine Yale gently touched her belly, “Butler Santana, don’t worry, I certainly won’t drink and will return early tonight.”
“No worries, I know Mr. Carbon very well, don’t I?” Butler Santana handed her a velvet burgundy chain bag, “Take this bag; it looks nice.”
“Alright.”
Jasmine Yale made herself up beautifully and was quite satisfied.
After going downstairs, she took a taxi to the reserved restaurant.
The restaurant booked by Yukon Carbon wasn’t exactly downtown, slightly off-center, yet it was a genuine good place.
Jasmine Yale had been there; the place was close to a man-made lake, offering river views from the windows. At night, standing at heights, one could take in Chicago’s splendor.
It’s a great place with a beautiful night view.
Yukon Carbon, being familiar with Chicago, also knew her preferences well.
The restaurant was on the sixteenth floor.
Jasmine Yale pressed the elevator button and followed the signs.
The door to the private room was ajar, letting in a gentle breeze from inside.
The corridor lights were dim yellow, providing a very comforting hue, calming one’s heart in such an atmosphere.
She pushed the door and peeked in, imdiately spotting Yukon Carbon.
“Yukon…” Jasmine Yale greeted with a smile, “Looking so handso today.”
Yukon Carbon wore a deep-colored shirt; although he didn’t have a tie on, he looked spirited, dignified, enhancing his handso and dashing appearance.
“You’re right on ti; let’s order first.” Yukon Carbon handed her the nu.
“I’m not picky with food; is this Thai?”
“Yes, Thai. You ntioned over the phone wanting to eat Thai food last ti, so I brought you here. There aren’t many Thai restaurants in Chicago, and this one has the best flavors.” Yukon Carbon’s looks were refined, gentlemanly, and even his manner of speaking was exceedingly gentle.
“Perfect, that’s just what I want to eat!”
After exchanging harmless pleasantries with Yukon, she began to focus on ordering food.
Yukon Carbon introduced her to the restaurant, the scenery, and its specialties.
“I heard there’s a Leo teor shower tonight. This place is ideal for viewing, free from light pollution.” Yukon Carbon glanced out the window.
