"I’ll walk you downstairs." Sylvan Cheney also looked out the window, the raindrops winding and trickling down the glass.
But, he didn’t open the car door for a long ti.
Because of the temperature difference, the car windows were covered in a hazy white mist. Sylvan Cheney sat in the driver’s seat, while Jasmine Yale sat beside him.
"Jasmine Yale." He turned his head, his gaze falling on her fair, clean little face. "Has anyone ever told you that your smile is beautiful?"
Jasmine was taken aback, then she really smiled, revealing two dimples. "Really? The CEO thinks so too? Then you should scold less in the future. When you scold , I get unhappy, and when I’m unhappy, I don’t smile."
"Pushing your luck."
Jasmine smiled.
When neither of them spoke, the car was silent.
"CEO." Jasmine called to him, "It’s getting late, you should go ho too."
"You know where my ho is?"
Jasmine nodded. "Yes, I do."
"Take the keys." Sylvan Cheney handed her a set of apartnt keys. "There’s a green plant on the balcony, water it when I’m not around."
Sylvan placed the keys in her palm.
The keys felt like a hot potato, and Jasmine’s hand trembled slightly.
She awkwardly said, "CEO, you don’t need to worry about the plant. Even if you’re abroad for thirty days, it’ll be fine."
"Take it if I give it to you."
"Aren’t you afraid I’ll take things?"
Suddenly, Sylvan pressed in closer, placing his hands on her seat, trapping her in his embrace.
He lowered his head, his face close to hers. "You can take whatever you want, preferably take too."
They were very close.
Jasmine could sll the faint tobacco scent on him, along with a distinct male scent.
The car’s interior was dimly lit, with only a few glimrs of light falling inside from outside.
Sylvan’s breathing beca more rapid, and the distance between them was only a few centiters. He was so close to her, his nose filled with her fresh fragrance.
The fragrance was tempting, stimulating his senses, making his heart race montarily.
Jasmine was trapped in his arms, with nowhere to escape. In the darkness, her face flushed.
This was a dangerous and ambiguous signal.
Sylvan looked at her face by the faint light, his gaze tracing her eyebrows, eyes, and nose, finally resting on her full, glossy red lips.
Probably because she wore lipstick, her lips looked like a ripe peach, red and enticing.
Sylvan gazed at her, forgetting to withdraw his burning gaze, his eyes even seed to shine brightly.
He lowered his head slightly, tilting aside, his cool lips lowering down.
Jasmine’s heart pounded fiercely a few tis, and she raised her hand, dodging it. "CEO, I should go back."
Sylvan’s temple throbbed, a trace of anger and restrained heat in his eyes.
She pushed him away.
"CEO, is there an umbrella? If not, I’ll just walk back along the roadside." Jasmine’s heart was still racing.
It had been a long ti since she kissed him.
Yet, in her heart, it was a mix of longing and fear.
She didn’t want him to carry or sacrifice anything for her anymore.
He had almost given up the whole world for her, and now, he finally had a new world.
So... she wanted to give him enough ti to ponder clearly.
In her palm, she still held the keys to his apartnt.
Sylvan straightened his posture, loosened his grip, and sat back in his seat.
After a long pause, he nodded, "I’ll take you."
