"The CEO is so clever, even if he were drunk, he’d still be smart. Look at the red packet the CEO gave ; he’s certainly not drunk." Jasmine Yale sat on the bed, smiling.
"If I weren’t smart, how would I have discovered a treasure like you?" Sylvan Cheney rubbed his forehead, slightly tipsy.
These words weren’t drunken babble.
If he weren’t clever, how could he have t such a smart, witty, and lively girl like her?
Sotis, he envied her ex-husband for eting her before he did, imagining how happy that must have been; in his heart, she’s always the best.
Out of jealousy, he could only treat her even better, so she’d willingly be with him.
"CEO, are there sweets at the banquet tonight?"
"Hmm? Why would there be sweets at a banquet, it’s not a wedding dinner." Sylvan Cheney chuckled.
"Really no sweets? Then how co your words are so sweet?"
Only then did Sylvan Cheney realize, and he scolded: "You little trickster."
Jasmine Yale laughed heartily; coaxing Sylvan Cheney felt... quite nice.
Sylvan Cheney was on the phone with Jasmine Yale, brewing a cup of sobering tea, while taking off his jacket and grabbing a bathrobe.
"CEO, if you’ve been drinking, you should rest early. See you tomorrow."
"I’ll take a shower first; do you want to watch? If you do, I can livestream it for you."
"Have you no sha?!"
"Can I have none?"
"If you don’t, I do. Hanging up now, bye-bye."
"After receiving my red packet, at least chat with for a while, you can’t just... hey..." The call had been hung up.
Sylvan Cheney looked at his phone helplessly, the corners of his lips forming a smile: "Little trickster."
Such a little trickster.
Jasmine Yale laughed until her stomach hurt; she glanced at the red packet he sent and nodded... just right for buying Little Chaley a gift, maybe a fountain pen; he would surely love it.
The moonlight outside was perfect, and Jasmine Yale decided not to stay up late anymore, turning off the bedside lamp.
...
Two days later, Sylvan Cheney went on a business trip to Conada.
The maple leaves in Cakago were already red, autumn’s color was rich, with a glance all around, it was filled with bleak autumn sentints.
The leaves by the roadside were withered yellow, the grass had turned from green to yellow.
Jasmine Yale packed her luggage, arranged for leave, and before leaving, she visited a bakery.
Unexpectedly, Yukon Carbon was ho.
Yukon Carbon was wearing a thin gray sweater, holding Sweet Kitty while sitting on a chair by the window; the night’s light fell upon this man as gentle as jade, full of tenderness.
Sweet Kitty closed her eyes, comfortably leaning against Yukon Carbon and rubbing against him.
Yukon Carbon had a light smile on his face, focused on entertaining Sweet Kitty, so much so that he didn’t even notice when Jasmine Yale arrived.
Jasmine Yale, with her belly showing, smiled and walked over.
"Yukon, how can you be back in Cakago?"
"It’s Saturday today, did you forget?" Yukon Carbon looked up, "Why are you here? You should’ve told , I would’ve driven to pick you up."
Sweet Kitty must have caught Jasmine Yale’s scent and opened her eyes, "ow."
Jasmine Yale extended her hand to scratch the little guy, laughing: "I walked over, not too far, just taking it as a walk."
"Want sothing to drink? I’ll get it for you."
"No, I’ll be leaving soon; going to Lonton tomorrow."
"Lonton? Business trip?"
Jasmine Yale wasn’t sure how to explain, so she simply didn’t, nodding: "Sort of."
"Your company is still making pregnant won travel? When are you planning to take leave? Don’t overexert yourself."
