"Baby, flowers don’t work. What does? A kiss, okay?" The boy took a step closer, grinning mischievously, holding onto the roses tightly.
Sylvan Cheney took a puff of his cigarette, frowning slightly.
He didn’t like eavesdropping on others’ romantic conversations, but at this mont, staying or leaving felt equally awkward.
"Get away from , don’t touch , and don’t talk to for the next few days! I’m very, extrely, super angry! We’re already over, I’m telling you, I’m going to find a guy who’s more handso, better in studies, and plays basketball better than you! Anyway, I just don’t want you anymore!"
"Baby, don’t be like this, okay? Think about it, soone more handso than hasn’t been born yet!"
"Have you no sha?"
"Nope, baby, when have I ever cared about that in front of you?" the boy chuckled, "Feel it, my skin is thick, real thick."
Saying that, the boy leaned in towards the girl, and while she wasn’t watching, gave her a peck!
The girl stomped her feet in anger, glaring at him helplessly.
"Baby, can we get back together? Don’t go looking for hunks anymore, I’m already very handso!" The boy shoved the roses into her hands, "Baby, shall we go watch so dancing? I can dance too!"
"Who wants to watch you dance! Go dance for that Loro in the class next door!"
"Oh co on, baby, Loro can’t compare to you, I can’t even rember what she looks like."
The boy’s sweet talk flowed smoother than a tongue twister.
Sylvan Cheney took a puff of his cigarette, unexpectedly chuckling out loud.
Ah, youth is indeed wonderful.
Under the moonlight, the clouds were thin, the breeze gentle, and the fragrance of flowers filled the air.
The boy hugged the girl again, whispering sothing softly for a while, but Sylvan couldn’t hear it.
He looked up at the deep night sky, his eyes reflecting an unfathomable darkness.
The scents mingled in a dley at the tip of his nose.
Sylvan closed his eyes for a mont, a weariness tinged with blue swimming in them.
He finished his cigarette.
When he opened his eyes again, the young couple had parted, the girl was gone, and the boy remained, scratching his head, smiling shyly and happily.
When Sylvan looked at him, the boy noticed and was first surprised, then ran over.
"Uncle, how did I do just now? I think she’ll have a change of heart!"
Being inexplicably called "uncle" by a teenage boy irritated Sylvan. He replied flatly, "Not that great!"
"Huh?" The boy was puzzled, "I thought it was pretty good, she seed to say one thing but an another, looking really happy. I think we can get back together!"
"..."
"Uncle, you look like soone who’s never been married, haha."
"You’re wrong, I have been married," Sylvan felt his pride bruised.
"Really? Soone married wouldn’t look like you, Uncle," the boy laughed, "Uncle, let tell you, girls are the most complex yet simple beings in the world."
Sylvan frowned.
"Uncle, you clearly don’t get it, and you’re lying about being married," the boy laughed loudly, "Let give you a free lesson. Why are they the most complex? Because, you know, a woman’s heart is like a needle at the bottom of the sea; you can never guess what they’re thinking. One mont it’s all sunny, and the next it’s all cloudy."
"And why are girls the simplest too? Because they’re very straightforward. When they’re moody or angry, all you need to do is sweet-talk them!"
