"Got it." Jasmine Yale nodded knowingly, "Don’t tell him I called you."
Kade Yuvan was montarily stunned, then chuckled softly, "Understood."
"What’s so funny?"
"Nothing, nothing." Kade laughed even harder.
"I won’t waste your ti, Assistant Yuvan. Go ahead and get back to work." Jasmine huffed, not understanding what made him laugh.
During lunch, Jasmine was distracted.
She couldn’t figure out where Sylvan Cheney got the energy to socialize until late at night and still have the strength to lead a eting in the morning.
Nothing anyone said could persuade him otherwise; she’d never seen soone so excessive.
Jasmine took a couple of bites but had no appetite, feeling like sothing was brewing inside her chest.

Those days, Sylvan Cheney seed very busy and didn’t contact her.
Jasmine found herself feeling carefree, though sotis a bit bored.
When Butler Santana made sweet dumplings for her, the first person she thought of was Sylvan. However, the previous incident had left her heart deeply wounded, a scar that remained unhealed.
That evening, Jasmine returned ho after watching an art exhibition. She had dinner and then took a bath.
Drying her hair, it was already past eight in the evening.
The night was clear with a bright moon and few stars.
The window was open, and a cool autumn breeze blew in. Jasmine sat by the window, gazing at the night scene.
Not far away, fireworks lit up the sky with colors, wonderfully beautiful.
With a thin blanket over her legs, Jasmine rested her head on her hand, tilting her head to quietly watch the fireworks outside.
Colorful, splendid, dazzling.
Suddenly, her phone rang.
Lazily, Jasmine reached out and picked up the phone from the windowsill.
It was Kade Yuvan.
"Hello, Assistant Yuvan, it’s so late, what’s up?"
"Jasmine, I’m working late and so hungry, I miss your snacks."
"So busy? Well... I’m ho. How about I bring you sothing? I won’t have ti to make snacks, but I can cook a bowl of sweet dumplings, okay?" Jasmine felt guilty, knowing she had left her project in Kade’s hands.
"That would be great, thank you so much! Be careful on your way!"
"No problem, I should be the one thanking you." Putting away her phone, Jasmine went to the kitchen to make a bowl of sweet glutinous rice dumplings.
Her cooking wasn’t particularly great, but it was edible.
Her place wasn’t too far from the financial district, about a twenty-minute cab ride.
The night was quiet, the entire financial district shrouded in boundless darkness, the skyscrapers towering like giants.
It was silent all around, not a soul in sight.
As soon as Jasmine got out of the taxi, Kade’s call ca again.
Jasmine hurriedly said, "I’m here, I’ve arrived in the financial district! Just got here!"
"Thanks, Jasmine."
"No problem, I dumped all my work on you after my leave; I should be thanking you."
"Uh..." Kade hesitated, "When you get upstairs, go to the executive office. Um... I’m actually not in the financial district."
"You?!" Jasmine seed to understand sothing!
"The boss has been working late tonight and hasn’t had dinner. I tried, but he wouldn’t listen. So... um, sorry, sorry, Jasmine. Now that you’re here, you must go up; the boss has been very busy and tired these past few days."
"I..."
"Jasmine, don’t be mad at , please don’t be mad at . We’re still good friends and colleagues."
Jasmine really had no way to deal with Kade!
