This ti, it was Jasmine Yale who was stunned.
She looked at the sky, lost in thought for a long ti.
After a while, she quietly said, "Don’t send them to , I don’t want to see."
"Don’t worry, I won’t send them to you for now, I don’t want these private photos to spread. Evan hasn’t touched you, has he? Then you’re quite unlucky. Let tell you, this man might look gentle, but in bed... he’s sothing else."
There was a low chuckle from the other end.
Jasmine Yale’s long eyelashes fluttered, her eyes a vast sea of darkness, like a night sky with its light extinguished, empty and devoid of luster.
"Jasmine Yale, I’m warning you one more ti, behave yourself in Cakago. Don’t start flirting with n so soon after your husband’s death. If you try to hook up with Evan again, don’t say I didn’t warn you."
"Erin Janus, has anyone ever told you that you have no class?"
Erin Janus choked for a mont, her face flushed red, "Jasmine Yale, don’t provoke !"
"I’ve never provoked you. It’s you who keeps making your target of provocation. I’m pregnant, so I can’t be bothered with you. Also, if you truly like that man, just take him. I don’t want him anymore."
"Don’t pretend to be so magnanimous, Evan is out of your league. Look at his education, his wealth, and his status. Do you really think a bumpkin like you stands a chance with him?"
Jasmine Yale pressed her lips together, remaining silent.
"People should have self-awareness," Erin Janus continued, "I think if you truly like Evan, you should wish him well, wish that he finds his true match. A man as dazzling as he is should naturally be with a woman just as radiant, don’t you think?"
"Yes." Jasmine Yale had admitted this long ago, "But the one who deserves him is a truly radiant woman, not soone like you, who is just a gilded shell, pretty on the outside."
"You!" Erin Janus felt as if she had been doused with a bucket of cold water, from head to toe, "Jasmine Yale, you really have no self-awareness at all, it’s no wonder your husband died and your child has no father!"
"Erin Janus, you’re too cruel." Jasmine Yale’s eyes were a stormy sea, waves crashing within.
"If you hadn’t provoked , would I be this cruel? Jasmine Yale, you brought this on yourself. You’re not any better!"
"Bye."
Jasmine Yale hung up the phone without saying another word.
Her chest ached uncontrollably, and her shoulders trembled violently.
Her eyelashes trembled, she struggled to control her emotions.
She’s human, not a deity. She truly didn’t know how much longer she could hold on.
Since becoming pregnant, she had reined in her last bits of temper. She truly didn’t know what else she could do, it seed like everything she did was wrong.
That man... was never soone she could control in the first place.
With trembling hands, Jasmine Yale picked up a cup and took a sip of hot water, trying to suppress her emotions.
But unexpectedly, after drinking the water, the tears burst forth like a breached dam, surging uncontrollably.
She covered her face and cried.
The sobs ca intermittently, stifled and suppressed.
The bedroom was very quiet; she covered her mouth so the sobs wouldn’t escape, she was afraid Butler Santana would hear.
The transparent glass window reflected her shaking figure, curled up in the cold chair, like a helpless child, lonely and deserted.
The night sky was endlessly desolate, and the small balcony held only Jasmine Yale.
The night stretched infinitely, while the air grew still and forlorn.
