When Jasmine Yale ca out after showering, Sylvan Cheney was already asleep.
She walked over to look at him; he was sleeping soundly, breathing evenly, his features composed and handso.
Jasmine Yale shook her head helplessly.
Afraid of disturbing his sleep, she went to the bathroom to blow dry her hair.
By the ti everything was settled, it was already past one in the morning.
This was the quietest, most serene ti of the night, when everything was silent, utterly still.
Everything was quietly at peace.
Jasmine Yale, tired to the point of her eyelids drooping, with a painful waist, sat by the bed to tuck Sylvan Cheney in.
However, just as her fingers touched his body, he grabbed her hand, his eyes half-open, voice hoarse and low, "Don’t go, I’m not feeling well..."
"Where are you uncomfortable? Do you need dicine? Is it a headache?"
"Mm..."
"I told you not to... Never mind, I’ll get the dicine for you, just take it obediently."
"Mm."
Jasmine Yale knew he had brought it on himself, yet she still went looking everywhere for the dicine box.
Under the soft light, Sylvan Cheney’s face took on a few more hues of pale, the usual sharpness of his features softened considerably.
"Sit up, take your dicine and then sleep, okay?" Jasmine Yale opened her palm with the white pills on it.
Her hair brushed against his neck, making Sylvan Cheney feel a tingling sensation all over, the restlessness he’d just managed to suppress beginning to stir again.
She no longer had the scent of alcohol on her, just a faint fragrance mixed with her own unique aroma.
Sylvan Cheney shook his head, wanting to rest on her lap.
He snuggled closer to her.
"If you don’t take the dicine, your head will hurt. Do you want to take care of you all night?" Jasmine Yale asked angrily.
"Once my head stops hurting, you’ll leave."
In that instant, Jasmine Yale was surprised, left speechless.
After a long pause, she slowly said, "I won’t leave, will you take the dicine then?"
"Alright..."
Only then did Sylvan Cheney obediently take the pills from Jasmine Yale’s hand and swallow them.
"Why did you go to the bar to drink? How many tis have I told you, don’t drink, don’t drink, you never listen to ."
Sylvan Cheney leaned against Jasmine Yale’s leg, closed his eyes, and softly said, "Drinking makes feel a bit better inside."
"You’re so young, what’s troubling you so much?"
"How could there not be..." Sylvan Cheney complained, "My wife wants to run away, of course I’m troubled."
Jasmine Yale was speechless. "I’m not your wife."
"I don’t agree."
"What’s the use of you not agreeing? I really am not your wife. Your wife, who knows where she is, she might not even be born yet!" Jasmine Yale chuckled.
"You’re mine!" Sylvan Cheney said dominantly.
"I have nothing to do with you."
"You can only be mine!"
"Alright, alright, I won’t argue with you. Are you going to sleep or not? If you don’t sleep soon, it’ll be daylight."
"Sleep with ."
"Fine, I’ll sleep with you, just go to sleep then." Jasmine Yale agreed reluctantly.
"Mm." Sylvan Cheney obediently closed his eyes, and after a mont, started muttering to himself, "What do I like about you... What do I love about you... You don’t have a sexy body, you don’t know how to coax a man, and sotis you yell at , dare to lose your temper with . What do I like about you, you’re not good at all..."
Jasmine Yale was infuriated.

As he talked, his voice faded away.
Under the light, Jasmine Yale looked at Sylvan Cheney leaning against her.
It had been a long ti since they last slept in the sa bed.
