Going from a nine-to-five job and a busy schedule to leaving the job didn’t feel like much of a change.
This was where she t Sylvan Cheney.
She always had mixed feelings towards Jas Corporation and Erin Janus. She didn’t like Erin, but she had to thank her for saving Sylvan Cheney.
The wind outside was strong, so Jasmine Yale walked into the milk tea shop and ordered her favorite red bean milk tea, choosing a seat by the window.
Sunlight poured in through the window, casting an angled light on her body.
It was morning, and there weren’t many people in the shop, so she sat quietly, flipping through magazines and the latest newspapers.
The enticing aroma of the milk tea wafted around as she gently stirred it with a spoon, causing the red beans settled at the bottom to swirl up like little elves.
A sip could drive away the chill of late autumn.
She didn’t know when it started, but as she flipped through a magazine, she felt several strange gazes on her.
Raising her head, she realized that a few forr colleagues were sitting across from her, two of whom were old classmates.
Those colleagues chatted boisterously, their voices not loud but particularly noisy in the empty milk tea shop.
"Hey, isn’t that Jasmine Yale? I heard she resigned."
"Not taking maternity leave and resigning? I think it wasn’t resigning; she’s probably embarrassed to stay in the company!"
"Exactly, I heard she was competing with CEO Janus for a man!"
"CEO Janus is probably used to it by now, ever since she brought a fiancé into the company. Which woman in the company doesn’t want to climb into Evan’s bed? It’s no wonder she has this idea. Evan has that kind of allure for won; just talking about it entices ."
"She’s pregnant and still competing with CEO Janus for a man? A woman becos devalued and turns into a dowdy old wife when pregnant, yet she still has the nerve to compete for a man."
"Rather than saying she’s competing for a man, it’s more like she’s looking for a backer. Looking for a backer can be as easy as picking a promising target, and if that fails, those rich old n will do."
A burst of laughter erupted among the won.
"By the way, I’ve never seen Evan, is he really as handso as you say?"
"Never seen him in person? Haven’t you seen the photos? They’ve been in the company newsletter several tis; he’s always very handso."
"Photos don’t seem real. How about in person? Is he that handso in person?"
"In person, he’s even more handso than in the photos. It’s just that you don’t have the luck to see it. Handso is one thing, but the main point is he has a great physique, and a man with a great body is amazing in bed..."
"Even if you do have the luck, all you can do is look."
"Last ti I went to Evan’s office to deliver so docunts, I tried to flirt with him. I leaned my entire body towards him, and guess what he said?"
"What, what?"
"Tell us!"
"He said, ’Straighten your clothes. The company values employee image, don’t get fired because of this.’ The woman exaggeratedly clutched her chest, ’Oh my, I was scared to death at that mont. You wouldn’t believe it, but that man, although he looks handso, is actually very cold. I advise you not to have any wicked thoughts or you’ll end up like that woman, getting chased out of the company."
Everyone cast their gaze back towards Jasmine Yale.
"Evan is President Janus’s son-in-law. At tis like this, who would dare interfere unless they don’t want their job anymore."
"Soone like Evan wouldn’t be interested in ordinary folk like you."
"Only those unafraid of death would rush to the gun barrel. I heard from CEO Janus’s secretary that CEO Janus has been preparing for marriage lately. Such a man, we can only look at, just look."
