"Being alone... at first, of course, it’s not easy. Slowly, it gets better."
"In the future, you’ll have , so you won’t be alone."
Jasmine Yale liked listening to him speak; his voice was very pleasant.
Holding his warm body, resting her small head in the nook of his neck, that was the greatest happiness for her.
Glory and wealth, fine clothes and good food, none compared to his smile for her.
She just held him like that, doing nothing, listening to his breathing and the sound of the rain outside the window.
Content and at peace.
"In a few days, I need to go on a business trip to Old York. I’ll take you ho to stay for a few days first?" Sylvan Cheney said.
"Sure, you don’t need to worry about when you’re busy with work. I can take care of myself." Jasmine Yale wasn’t clingy, "Dress warmly when you’re outside. It’s getting cold, don’t catch a cold."
Sylvan Cheney wrapped his fingers around her hair, pressing her face to his chest.
The two lay in bed, talking for a long ti.
The rain continued to fall.
It was close to noon when they lazily got up.
In Jasmine Yale’s impression, Sylvan Cheney rarely stayed in bed this late.
Back at the Cheney Residence, most of the ti, when she went to school in the morning, he had already left for the company, and she didn’t even get to see him. Though they lived under the sa roof, the ti they spent together each day was not much.
The apartnt beca a world of their own.
In this world, there was no conflict, nor would anybody else disturb them.
There would be no more of the bloody storms from before.
Jasmine Yale almost forgot those dark, blood-soaked days...
She always preferred to selectively forget so things, so people.
When Sylvan Cheney was slicing apples in the kitchen, Jasmine Yale hugged his waist from behind, pressing her face against his back.
Sylvan Cheney wiped his hands, turning around.
Her face was like a peach blossom, with a faint blush on her cheeks.
Sylvan Cheney lowered his head, cupping her face in his hands, their eyes eting tenderly.
His fingers were cool to the touch, and upon feeling the delicate texture, Jasmine Yale’s heart involuntarily trembled.
She stood on tiptoe, wrapped her arms around his neck, and let a kiss fall on his lips.
At first, Sylvan Cheney was stunned; it seed like this was her first ti kissing him so proactively, but soon, he wrapped his arms around her waist, responding to her kiss.
Kissing... would not betray this wonderful ti.
She was quite captivating, that simple kiss making him lose control.
"Sylvan..." she called his na.
"Hmm." He replied, kissing her more deeply.
His thoughts began to drift.
Her voice when she called his na, so tender, always overlapped with so dreams from his mories.
But those dreams, intangible, unseen.
Jasmine Yale was deeply imrsed in his kiss; she initiated it, yet soon, she was overpowered by him.
Sylvan Cheney couldn’t wait any longer, pinning her against the wall.
"Little thing, just now in bed, you refused." He knew she was teasing him.
"You... be gentle..."
"I know."
An intense and satisfying affair.
Afterwards, Jasmine Yale was so exhausted that she clung to his arm, unable to stand.
Sylvan Cheney carried her to the sofa, helped her clean up, and dressed her.
Jasmine Yale’s face still held a bright blush, her breath unstable, and the continuous rain outside made her heart throb and race even more.
Sylvan Cheney brought her a fruit platter, beautifully arranged in vibrant colors.
She hooked his hand with her soft fingers, her eyes like water.
