The sales associate mistook them for a couple.
"No, thank you." Sylvan Cheney refused and turned to leave the counter.
"Sylvan, don’t rush off; it’s still early. We can browse a bit before heading ho." Erin checked her watch. "I’m thinking of buying a bracelet. Help pick one; I think you have a good eye."
Erin had selectively forgotten what happened at the manor last ti.
After all, everyone had drunk too much back then, and she just used her intoxication as an excuse.

Sylvan Cheney stood with his hands in his coat pockets, watching Erin and Stacy with a blank expression.

"Hmm." Sylvan Cheney vaguely responded and raised his hand, "It’s getting late; after the manor visit, I still have work to deal with. I’ll head to the car first."
After speaking, Sylvan Cheney turned and left without looking back.
Erin stared at his back for quite a few seconds, her eyes devoid of emotion.
She took off the necklace and said to the sales associate: "Wrap it up, I’ll take this one. By the way, was that gentleman looking at rings just now?"
"Yes, he was looking at rings. He liked this one, ma’am. This one suits you too." The sales associate, smiling radiantly, showed Erin the ring Sylvan Cheney had liked, "Ma’am, would you like to try it on? Test the size."
Erin took the diamond ring from the box, staring at the dazzling gem for a long ti.
The gem was truly beautiful.
She tried it on; the size was perfect, quite lovely.
The sales associate kept praising: "Ma’am, this ring suits you exceptionally well, and the gentleman has excellent taste, imdiately seeing it was perfect for you."
Stacy glanced over, casually leaning against the cabinet, and said indifferently: "Erin, this is a wedding ring. I’ve never seen a woman buy a wedding ring for herself."
"Who said I was buying it?" Erin took off the ring, "This ring is so cheap. Even if it were given to , I wouldn’t wear it."
The sales associate looked embarrassed at the jibe but still tried to maintain a smile.

The sales associate helped Erin wrap up the necklace, and Erin paid and casually tossed the bag to Stacy: "You can have it, take care of it yourself."
"Erin, don’t you want it?"
"It’s not sothing I chose, why would I want it? I wasn’t into it."
"Erin, don’t you really like Sylvan? You don’t like the pendant he chose? I think it’s quite nice."
"He chose it? Was it chosen for ?" Erin’s tone was cold and quite dismissive.
