Chapter 828: Chapter 828: The Truth… is Terrifying
By the ti they reached the hospital, it was an hour later.
The morning breeze, carrying a slight chill, felt like a sharp blade against the skin.
The hospital had not yet recovered from last night’s storm, and everywhere was silent and deserted.
Sylvan Cheney headed towards Jasmine Yale’s ward floor.

Lana Fern looked haggard. Her eyes were swollen as if she had been crying, and her hair was dull and dry, devoid of any color.

Her sister was gentle and kind, and Chris was too weak to even truss a chicken. How could they do such things?
At first, she simply couldn’t believe it, until yesterday, when she learned her sister had kidnapped Little Chale Cheney.
Arrogant as she might be, she would never harm a child.
She had always thought that none of the three siblings would ever do sothing outrageous.
But the facts proved her wrong.
The truth… was terrifying.
Her gentle sister could kill, and her scholarly brother was hurting people with a scalpel.
These thoughts… she dared not even think them.
Last night, she had nightmares all night long, dreaming of bloody knife points, and of her sinister sister and Chris.
She was so frightened that she broke out in a cold sweat and didn’t dare to sleep all night. She sat up in her bedroom with the light on until daybreak.
Every ti she closed her eyes, she saw the faces of Yolanda Fern and Chris Fern, clutching her hair in agony, terrified.
She had pieced together the truth from Tor’s broken narration.
Tor had cried badly while telling her about these things, shaking his head sorrowfully while he spoke.
No one could have imagined such things happening.
Lana Fern found it even harder to believe. Yolanda Fern and Chris Fern were her relatives, with whom she had grown up and lived day by day!
Over the years, her sister had always been gentle, caring deeply for her, asking after her well-being with great attention to detail.
When she returned to the country to develop her career, her sister would advise her, help her pack, and arrange her itinerary.
Although Chris didn’t talk much, Lana Fern could feel the boy’s concern for her; he would secretly place essential dicines in her suitcase for the journey.
The relatives she lived with day by day, Lana Fern could never have imagined they would commit such bold acts.
She also had not realized that her sister’s heart disease for so many years… was fake!

This morning, she had run to the hospital wanting to see Chris.
But the hospital was completely sealed off, and she couldn’t see him at all.
