Chapter 837: Chapter 837: Out of Danger

But he was helpless, as he was instructed by those above to make the call.

He had no other choice but to dial.

He wasn’t the one in charge, after all.

The assistant felt aggrieved, knowing that Sister Ann Nolan always valued competence; no matter how powerful the newcor’s background, if they weren’t competent, they’d be imdiately weeded out.

He knew Ann’s temper crystal clear.

“Revoke it, the Translation Departnt doesn’t need this type of nepotism,” Ann said indifferently.

“Sister Ann Nolan… I, I can’t handle it,” the assistant trembled with fear.

On one hand was the boss, and on the other was his direct supervisor Ann; it was too much of a dilemma!

The assistant was so stifled that his cheeks turned red, and he couldn’t utter a word for a long ti.

Ann, however, was very firm in her stance: “Firstly, the Translation Departnt isn’t short-staffed; secondly, we don’t need a figurehead; and lastly, reply exactly as you have to.”

The assistant broke out in a cold sweat; he just knew this was Ann’s attitude.

But how should he reply? This was too difficult!

“Sister Ann Nolan, how about you co to the office, you could personally interview the newcor? Or maybe have a talk with the boss?”

“I’m on leave,” she replied.

“I know, but this is sowhat urgent… The newcor is currently chatting in the boss’s office, and I’m afraid she’ll be out soon. I’m worried I won’t be able to hold the fort.”

“Go and tell the boss that the newcor can be placed in another departnt. The Translation Departnt is both grueling and exhausting, with frequent overti. Do I need to teach you that?” Ann said calmly.

The assistant was silent for a mont, then nodded: “I will try.”

The Translation Departnt was indeed both demanding and exhausting. When there were a lot of assignnts, they worked overti as a group and often had to work externally.

That young lady looked pampered, with her delicate hands never having touched spring water, seemingly never having endured hardship.

And she obviously wasn’t the type who could handle tough tis.

The assistant thought that ntioning this might just work.

Ann hung up the phone, her deanor steady.

They really would let anyone into the Translation Departnt.

She went to the restroom to wash her hands and then tidied up Jasmine Yale’s hospital room.

Just then, a nurse ca to take Jasmine’s temperature and administer her injection, so Ann took the opportunity to inquire about so basic conditions —

“Is her condition okay now?”

“Miss Yale was in an extrely exhausted state before the fever, so although the fever has subsided, she still needs ti to regain consciousness,” the nurse explained.

“Extrely exhausted?” Ann puzzled.

“Hmm, it could be due to staying up late, or possibly the high workload, or even various psychological pressures. There are many possible reasons…”

“I see,” Ann understood.

Jasmine also ntioned to her that she had been staying up late reading and doing problems lately, probably under a lot of pressure.

The nurse skillfully gave Jasmine her injection and then adjusted her IV.

After chatting a few more sentences with the nurse, Ann learned that Jasmine was out of danger and not in a serious condition, which allowed her to finally feel relieved.

Just then, Ann’s phone started vibrating on the sofa!

She hurriedly walked over and answered it.

“What’s up?”

“Sister Ann Nolan, I’ve just been chewed out by the boss, he called insensitive,” the assistant said, having run into a wall, with a self-deprecating tone, “He also said Miss Glorian graduated from a prestigious university’s foreign language program with high proficiency in English, and being placed in the Translation Departnt was a complint to us.”

“Did you tell him how hard our departnt works?”

“Of course, I didn’t just say it was hard work, I almost showed our entire schedule to Miss Glorian. But the boss wouldn’t listen, he even said that there’s always easier work to do and that the easier tasks could be assigned to Miss Glorian.”

“What kind of logic is that, getting stationed in our departnt just to make soy sauce?” Ann said angrily.

“I, I didn’t dare to contradict the boss.”
