Chapter 976: Chapter 976: She Refuses to Have Another Child for Chapter 976: Chapter 976: She Refuses to Have Another Child for Jasmine Yale knew all too well that Sylvan Cheney needed no reason to have soone arrested if he wished.
She understood Kaine Zahir very well; although he was a drunk and abusive, he was timid and cautious, never one to break the law.
He was even more cowardly than Nancy Emtt.
“I’ve co to you for one reason: I’ve heard so things lately and wanted to verify them with you,” Jasmine looked at him.
Cora Jorney had given her very little ti; she had to make her long story short.
“Jasmine, you would be happy never to see in this lifeti. What could you possibly want from now?”
Kaine Zahir’s tone was full of resentnt and cold indifference.
His gaze was colder than his words, sharp like a knife or frost, unwilling even to look at Jasmine.
This foster daughter of his was now living a life far better than his.
While he languished in prison, she wore silks and satins, basking in wealth and honour.
To her, he was of no value whatsoever.
Jasmine noticed the disdain in his eyes but simply smiled faintly, appearing unconcerned.
“I want to ask you, am I your biological daughter?” Jasmine asked bluntly.
Kaine Zahir was slightly startled; he hadn’t expected Jasmine Yale to be so direct.
Clearly, she knew quite a bit.
Otherwise, she wouldn’t have gone through so much trouble to find him.
“If you’re asking this, you must already know the answer, I don’t believe Mr. Cheney hasn’t told you,” Kaine Zahir said indifferently, “He’s known about this matter for a long ti.”
A flicker of turmoil passed through Jasmine’s eyes, but she quickly suppressed it.
As she had suspected, Sylvan Cheney had known all along.
But he had said nothing to her.
If Yolanda Fern hadn’t spoken up, he might have intended to deceive her for a lifeti!
“Jasmine Yale, you’re not my biological daughter, so you should understand why, after your stepmother kicked you out, I didn’t go looking for you,” Kaine Zahir said calmly.
“Huh, I was only eight years old at the ti. Do you know, I could have died.”
“I know. Isn’t it just survival of the fittest?” Kaine Zahir said coldly, “I had no duty towards you to begin with, let alone since I have my own biological daughter to raise and cherish; Nancy, Kamila, and I are the real family. Having you in the house would disrupt the harmony.”
“You’re so heartless, why did you even marry my mother in the first place?” Jasmine said, disappointed.
Knowing he had abandoned her was one thing, but hearing it from his own mouth was another.
He truly did not like her.
As a child, she had thought he was just cold by nature, that he didn’t like girls.
Only now did she realize, it wasn’t girls he disliked; it was just her.
“I wasn’t bad to your mother. When she entered my house carrying one-year-old you, where did I go wrong? I took her in, served her, provided her with the best accommodation and attire. If it wasn’t for taking you in, Yana and you would have starved to death!” Kaine Zahir raised his voice!
He believed he had been good to Yana and Jasmine!
“But as long as I can rember, you’ve been cursing at her when you were drunk. You were never good to her.”
“Why do you only accuse ? Do you know that after Yana had you, she refused to have more children with , should I be dood to have no descendants?”
“Then why did you marry her? Why?” Jasmine queried hysterically.
Kaine Zahir fell silent.
When he had taken Yana in, it was because he had found her beautiful and with a good temperant.
After Yana married him, he indeed relished a period of glory.
No one knew Jasmine wasn’t his biological child, and they all thought Yana was his long-ti girlfriend.
At the ti, all his friends knew he had married a beautiful wife.
