Chapter 1442: Chapter 1442: Found the Chip
Mo Lan didn’t die; after so ti, she woke up again.
She slowly opened her heavy eyelids and saw Qi Ruigang standing on the balcony, talking on the phone with his back to her.
It seed like he was discussing work-related matters, which Mo Lan couldn’t understand.
She licked her dry lips, feeling even more thirsty.
But Qi Ruigang was intent on tornting her; he wouldn’t give her any water.
“That’s it, I’m hanging up.”
The mont Qi Ruigang turned around, Mo Lan instinctively closed her eyes.
The man glanced at her, and seeing that she wasn’t awake, he walked to the computer to continue his work.
Mo Lan’s eyes opened a slit, and suddenly, she saw him remove sothing resembling a card reader from the computer and then extract a tiny chip from it.
Her heart rate surged at the sight of that object!
A chip, was that the chip?
Qi Ruigang suddenly looked up at her; Mo Lan’s eyes were blurred and her lips unwittingly moaned, “Water… water…”
Qi Ruigang stared at her suspiciously for a few seconds; convinced that she was indeed unconscious, he then placed the chip into a secret compartnt in his watch.
So, the chip had always been stored there…
Under the blanket, Mo Lan’s hand was tightly clenched; it took a great deal of self-control to prevent herself from giving anything away.
Qi Ruigang stood up and walked over to her, bending down, his sharp eyes piercing into her.
Mo Lan’s eyelashes fluttered, her gaze unfocused as it t his face.
“Water…”
“Want water?” the man asked coldly.
“Water…”
“Will you behave?”
Mo Lan nodded; she truly needed water, or she’d die of thirst.
But she couldn’t die, not when she had finally found the chip; she had to get it into her possession.
“Really behave? What if you disobey in the future?”
“Water… give water…”
Qi Ruigang leaned in, his expression cold: “Lanlan, if you disobey next ti, I’ll…”
He lifted her hand, caressing her slender fingers.
“Chop off one of your fingers, how about that?”
Mo Lan’s heart skipped a beat; she stared at him, hesitating whether to nod.
Because she knew he would do as he said.
“Promise , and I’ll give you water. Otherwise, you’ll just wait to die of thirst!” the man said sinisterly.
A look of sorrow and despair appeared in Mo Lan’s eyes.
After struggling fiercely, she desperately compromised.
“…Okay, I promise you.”
Qi Ruigang smiled in satisfaction; he knew that with her timidity and weakness, she would definitely succumb.
“Good girl, I like obedient won.” Qi Ruigang smiled, lifting his hand to gently stroke her cheek.
Mo Lan closed her eyes, not letting him see the resentnt in them.
“I’ll get you so water now.”
Qi Ruigang poured the water, ca back, and even supported her, feeding her personally.
Mo Lan drank three full glasses of water, which greatly relieved her.
“Want sothing to eat?” he asked again.
Mo Lan nodded; she needed the strength from food to resist him to the end.
Qi Ruigang called two maids in to take care of her.
After Mo Lan ate so food, they helped her bathe, apply dicine, changed the sheets and blankets, and cleaned the room before leaving.
Lying in bed alone, Mo Lan weakly closed her eyes, pretending to sleep.
She dared not think with her eyes open for she suspected that Qi Ruigang had installed surveillance caras in the room.
Seven years of being together had allowed her to thoroughly understand his suspicious nature and way of doing things.
He was a man who doubted everything.
