Mo Lan shook her head. “I’m fine.”
“I apologize for involving you this ti.”
“No, I volunteered for this, and it’s nothing. If you need help with anything else, feel free to let know.”
Ruan Tianling nodded and then instructed his subordinate to escort her back to rest.
After she left, Awei asked softly, “Boss, why did you stage this drama?”
Ruan Tianling countered, “What do you think I was after?”
“I only noticed that Qi Ruigang seems to care about Miss Mo a lot.”
Otherwise, he wouldn’t have risked his life to save her, even when she intended to kill him.
Under normal circumstances, Qi Ruigang should hate Mo Lan to death, wishing for her imdiate demise.
It would’ve been impossible for him to risk his life to save her…
Ruan Tianling curved his lips into a subtle smile. “What you’ve seen is precisely the outco I wanted.”

“Alright, I’ll help you to your room.” Jian Yufei supported her as they headed to the bedroom, helping her lie down.
“Do you need so water?” Jian Yufei asked.
Mo Lan smiled gently. “No, thank you. Yufei, you can go about your tasks. I just need to sleep for a while.”
“Rest well then.” Jian Yufei didn’t ask her anything but quietly left.
Once Jian Yufei left, Mo Lan closed her eyes.
But her mind was bombarded by recurring images.
The day on the sea when Qi Ruigang braved death and drove the speedboat to rescue her…
And today, when he risked everything, standing in front of her to shield her from the bullet…
These scenes kept replaying in her mind, impossible to shake off.
