He opened his dazed eyes and argued, “I’m not tired. I don’t know why I’m feeling so sleepy.”
Jian Yufei smiled and said, “You’re just too exhausted. Go to sleep, and wake up to eat after you’ve rested.”
Anyway, he had already eaten so mooncakes to fill his stomach, so he wouldn’t feel hungry for the ti being.

“Nonsense!” Jian Yufei quickly rebutted. “You’re still a child; naturally, your body gets tired more easily than an adult’s. Recently, not just you, Mommy is also worn out. It’s normal that you’re even more tired than us. Go rest; a good sleep will fix everything.”
Ansel shook his head and, forcing himself to stay awake, insisted, “Mommy, I must be dying. I’ve never felt this sleepy before. I need to see a doctor—I’m dying.”
He kept saying he was dying, making Jian Yufei’s heart skip a beat.
Even though she knew he was just being a naive child, his words still filled her with unease.
Putting aside the mooncake-making, Jian Yufei picked him up and walked outside.
Mo Lan hurried after her, terrified that there could be sothing wrong with Ansel’s health.
Ruan Tianling was speaking with Qi Ruigang in the living room. Seeing her co out carrying the child, he asked in confusion, “What’s wrong?”
Jian Yufei, visibly tense, said, “Ansel looks a bit off. Let’s take him to the doctor.”
Ruan Tianling imdiately stood up, striding forward.
Ansel lay wearily against Jian Yufei’s shoulder. His once bright eyes were now dull, and his eyelids drooped weakly.
Ruan Tianling reached out to touch his forehead; his temperature was normal—no signs of fever.
In a low voice, he asked Ansel, “Do you feel any discomfort?”
“…No,” Ansel answered softly.
“Just sleepy?”
“Mm, so sleepy… Daddy, I’m dying…”
“Don’t say that!” Ruan Tianling’s tone beca anxious as he held Ansel close and ordered coldly, “Prepare the car—get to the hospital!”
Jian Yufei grabbed his arm, her eyes hollow, and said, “Ruan Tianling, maybe Ansel is just really tired…”
Ruan Tianling pressed his lips together and said, “Other kids, when tired, would fall asleep. But Ansel won’t!”

All the hope Jian Yufei had clung to shattered. Her knees weakened, and she nearly collapsed.
“Ansel will be fine. We’ll get him to the hospital—he’ll be fine…” she stamred, panicked.
“Yufei!” Ruan Tianling’s voice rang stern and firm, “Don’t worry. I won’t let anything happen to him.”
Jian Yufei stared blankly upward, the fear in her eyes slowly dissipating.
“I know. I know he’ll definitely be fine. Let’s go to the hospital—right now!”
“Alright!” Ruan Tianling carried Ansel and strode out decisively.
Jian Yufei and Mo Lan quickly followed, and Qi Ruigang joined them as well.
They got into the car, naturally traveling in the sa vehicle as Ruan Tianling and Ansel.
On the way to the hospital, Jian Yufei’s heart was pounding hard, thudding in her chest.
Ruan Tianling held Ansel in his arms. The little boy nestled against him, his heavy eyelids drooping as he struggled to keep himself from falling asleep.
Jian Yufei watched his weakened state, feeling as if her heart were being ripped apart.
“It’s all my fault!” Her eyes reddened as she gripped her child’s small hand tightly, unwilling to let go.
“Earlier, he told that sothing felt wrong with his body and that he wouldn’t oversleep. I thought, he’s just a child; how could he have that much self-discipline? Oversleeping should be normal at his age…”
