Mo Lan eyed him warily, “What are you doing?”
Qi Ruigang smirked, “Worked all day, filthy all over, of course I need a shower.”
“Then go ahead,” Mo Lan sat on the bed, picked up a book, and started flipping through it.
“Not going to shower together?” Qi Ruigang raised an eyebrow at her.
Mo Lan didn’t even bother answering such questions; he was just asking the obvious.
Qi Ruigang insisted wickedly, “Showering together saves water. You’re a housewife, you should be frugal.”
“…” Mo Lan frowned in disgust; she had reached the point where just one more word from him was intolerable.
Yet, no matter how much she despised it, Qi Ruigang showed no signs of letting go.
“Alright then, I’ll shower alone.”
The weather was a bit cold now, and even with the heater on, there was still a chill in the bathroom.
Qi Ruigang didn’t shower for long before wrapping in a robe and coming out, “Go shower, while it’s still warm.”
Mo Lan didn’t catch the implication in his words.
She walked in with her clothes, greeted by a billow of steam—
She paused for a mont, then nonchalantly closed the door. No matter how much Qi Ruigang did for her now, she wouldn’t feel a thing, not even a flicker of gratitude.
Her heart was long gone; she was soone without emotions.
Mo Lan washed her hair as well, coming out wearing a casual long-sleeve top and pants, her hair combed and only partially dried, still quite damp.
Qi Ruigang frowned slightly at her appearance, “Co here.”
“For what?” Mo Lan looked at him puzzled.
Qi Ruigang got up directly, pulling her to the sofa to sit down. He then took out a hairdryer, plugged it in, and started blowing her hair.
Mo Lan quickly pulled away, “I’ll do it myself!”
“Stay put!” Qi Ruigang held her shoulder down, continuing to dry her hair.
Mo Lan averted her gaze uncomfortably, rejecting his gesture, “Don’t dry it too much, or my hair will get brittle.”
Qi Ruigang ignored her, intent on thoroughly drying her hair.
A pregnant woman with wet hair can easily fall ill; what’s worse, sickness, or brittle hair?
The warm air made Mo Lan’s scalp slightly warm. She dodged the heat, “Enough!”
“It’s not dry yet.”
“This is fine.”
“Just a bit more.” Qi Ruigang held her shoulder down, insisting on drying it fully before letting her go.
Her freshly dried hair was a bit frizzy, so Mo Lan combed it out. Qi Ruigang suggested, “I’ll get you a beauty card, so you can get hair treatnts regularly.”
“Would you even let go out?” Mo Lan asked without looking back.
Qi Ruigang moved closer, hugging her waist from behind, “Of course, I’d go with you.”
Mo Lan pushed him away, walking towards the door, “Thanks, but I’m not interested.”
“Mo Lan!” Qi Ruigang called out to her, “You can’t reject forever, you’ll give in eventually, so why not try accepting now?”
He was a man of action, doing whatever he set his mind to, rarely hiding his inner thoughts.
He also knew that certain things needed to be said to Mo Lan, otherwise they’d waste their lives without any result.
“Mo Lan, I really want to be good to you, can’t you feel it? Try accepting ; you’ll live better.” he said again.
