Qi Ruigang walked to her side and found a stool to sit down.
He reached out and searched through Mo Lan’s wrapped coat, then pulled out a box of candies.

“What good intentions?” Mo Lan demanded angrily.
“You were hungry, I gave you candy. You were thirsty, I quenched your thirst. If that’s not good will, what is?”
Mo Lan turned her head away, refusing to talk to him. After all, arguing with him was pointless.
Qi Ruigang scooted closer, putting his arm around her. Mo Lan instinctively struggled, but he just held her tighter.
“Don’t move, I’m cold, let hold you for warmth.”
Mo Lan raised her hand to take off his coat. Qi Ruigang pressed her hand down, threatening, “If you dare take it off, I’ll have you right here!”

Qi Ruigang chuckled and continued drying her coat by the fire.
