Mo Lan groggily opened her eyes. Hearing the servant’s words, she suddenly snapped awake.

Mo Lan was startled.
Old Master Qi urged her, “Ruigang is asking for you, go in quickly!”
“Oh.” Mo Lan quickly walked toward the operating room.
Behind her, Old Master Qi asked the doctor, “Doctor, how is my son’s condition? Has he passed the critical stage?”
“Old Master Qi, we’ve done our best. You need to be prepared ntally…”
Mo Lan’s footsteps suddenly halted; she was a bit afraid to go in.
A few nurses ca out, their trays full of blood-stained bandages and cotton.
A nurse said to her, “Mrs. Qi, you should go in. I’m afraid Mr. Qi is not going to make it.”
Only then did Mo Lan regain her composure and step into the operating room.
The lights in the operating room were on, but the light was pale and glaring.
Qi Ruigang lay on the operating table, covered with a blanket.
He was on oxygen, his face pale, and his dark eyes seed to have lost their luster.
Mo Lan walked to his side, still struggling to accept that soone so lively just that morning was now about to die.
Qi Ruigang looked at her weakly, speaking with a self-mocking tone, “I’m going to die. Would that make you happy?”

He gasped, “You were right. Soone like should just die… I’m about to die, but I’m not resigned… Mo Lan, I just want to ask you, do you still hate ?”

Qi Ruigang lifted his hand, his cold palm gently holding hers.
He stubbornly asked, “Do you still hate ?”
How could you possibly still hate soone who is about to die?
“I don’t hate you anymore,” Mo Lan said softly.
“Really?” Qi Ruigang’s weak smile showed a hint of joy, and he seed a bit more spirited.
“I was wrong before—I shouldn’t have hurt you like that. Do you still bla ?”
“I don’t hate you anymore, so why bla you for anything?” Mo Lan blurted out.
