It had been raining lightly for a few days in London, with occasional chilly winds.
Ruan Tianling had been overworked for two months straight, and with the sudden change in weather, he caught a cold and fell ill.
Jian Yufei ordered him to rest for two days without doing anything.

Yet, he was still quite grumpy.
Jian Yufei walked into the room with a bowl of brewed Chinese dicine, smiling as she called him, "Get up and drink your dicine."
Due to his severe physical depletion lately, he had been drinking Chinese dicine for a while, to the point where he felt like throwing up just from the sll.
So the mont he heard Jian Yufei’s voice, he imdiately turned away from her, wrapped himself tightly in the blanket, and pretended not to hear.
Jian Yufei placed the dicine on the bedside table and reached out to pull the blanket.
"Did you hear ? Get up and drink your dicine."
"..."
"Ruan Tianling!"
"I’m asleep!" ca a muffled voice from under the blanket.
Jian Yufei burst into laughter, "Do you still think you’re a child? Get up and drink it while it’s hot. This dicine is prepared by Dad; it’ll help you recover from the cold quickly."
Ruan Tianling turned reluctantly, "Can’t I just take Western dicine?"
Why must I drink Chinese dicine? It’s such a hassle and tastes awful.
"Your body needs nourishnt, and Chinese dicine can rejuvenate it; Western dicine won’t help."
Jian Yufei picked up the bowl, stirred it with a spoon, and blew it cool.
"Hurry up, or I’ll get angry if you don’t drink it."
Ruan Tianling knew it was futile to resist, so he sat up.
Jian Yufei scooped a spoonful to feed him, and he chuckled, "If I drink it slowly like this, I’ll throw up. Just give it to ; I’ll down it in one go."
"Okay, be careful not to burn yourself." Jian Yufei handed him the bowl.
Even though Ruan Tianling loathed drinking Chinese dicine, he didn’t even frown while drinking it.
"Is it bitter?" Jian Yufei asked him after placing the bowl aside.
Ruan Tianling nodded, "Didn’t you prepare any sugar for ?"
"..." Jian Yufei was a bit embarrassed, "You still want sugar?"
"Of course!"
"Let get so for you."
Ruan Tianling grabbed her hand and pulled her closer.
He stared at her lips and said, "No need, there’s sothing sweet right here."
With that, he kissed her lips.
His tongue, slightly tinged with bitterness, slipped into her mouth, and Jian Yufei also tasted the flavor of the Chinese dicine.
Just as they were lost in their kiss, the door suddenly knocked.
"Yufei, are you there?" It was Xiao Zexin’s voice.
Jian Yufei hurriedly pushed Ruan Tianling away, tidying her clothes and hair, "Dad, I’m here, co in."
Xiao Zexin pushed the door slightly open but didn’t enter.
"I want to video call with the grandkids; can you help connect?"
"Okay!" Jian Yufei nodded.
She silently blad herself for forgetting to arrange a video call with the kids for him.
There had been too much going on lately, and she forgot, which led to delaying until now.
Jian Yufei went to the study to open the computer and connected a video call with Ansel.
The screen popped up with Ansel’s cute, childlike face.
"Mommy, you haven’t contacted us for ages." Ansel started to complain.
Jian Yufei laughed, "Mommy’s been slow lately. Where’s Junqi?"
Just after she asked, Junqi’s face suddenly appeared, taking up the entire screen.
"Junqi, don’t get so close; Mommy can’t see anymore."
