Jian Yufei and the others were waiting outside the door. She asked a bodyguard, "Still haven’t reached Ruan Tianling?"
"Not yet." The bodyguard shook his head.
Why was Ruan Tianling’s phone off?
Jian Yufei wasn’t too worried about him; her intuition told her that Ruan Tianling should be fine.
By the ti Nangong Yi was resuscitated, it was already dark.
Jian Yufei sat by the bed, constantly keeping an eye on his condition.
During this ti, she called Ruan Tianling several tis, but his phone was always off.
Jian Yufei left him a text ssage, so he could see it as soon as he turned on his phone.
...
Outside the door, two male doctors and a nurse were pushing a large cart forward.
"What are you doing?" The bodyguard stopped them.
The nurse lifted the curtain under the cart, revealing the dical equipnt inside.
"This equipnt is used to monitor the patient’s heartbeat, blood pressure, and other indicators, for the patient’s use."
The bodyguard checked their ID badges and equipnt, frisking them as well, and only allowed them in after ensuring everything was fine.
When Jian Yufei saw them enter, she proactively asked a few questions, and the doctors answered all of them.
She was focused on watching the two doctors fiddle with the equipnt, not guarding against the nurse suddenly covering her mouth and nose with a cloth from behind.
Before long, Jian Yufei closed her eyes.
She was made to sit on a chair, with her back to the bodyguard outside the door.
On the bed, Nangong Yi suddenly opened his eyes, and one of the doctors said, "Young master, there’s no ti to lose, we should leave imdiately!"
Nangong Yi got up off the bed, his gaze landing on the unconscious Jian Yufei.
One of the doctors asked, "Should we kill her?"
Nangong Yi shook his head and walked over to Jian Yufei, his deep eyes fixed on her face.
He involuntarily raised his hand slowly, his fingers caressing her cheek.
But he quickly withdrew his hand, as if afraid to linger too long.
"Let’s go." He turned away coldly.
The sa cart was pushed out by the two doctors and a nurse.
The bodyguard happened to glance inside.
Seeing Jian Yufei sitting there just fine, blocking the view of the person on the bed, the bodyguard looked away reassured.
The cart, with its curtain, rolled further and further away, quickly disappearing.
...
Jian Yufei slept deeply for a long ti before waking up.
She opened her eyes to find herself in an unfamiliar room.
"Awake?" Ruan Tianling ca over and sat by the bed.
Jian Yufei propped herself up, and Ruan Tianling hurriedly placed a pillow behind her back.
"How did I end up here, did sothing happen?" she asked, rubbing her forehead in confusion.
"You don’t rember anything?"
Jian Yufei recalled, "Soone impersonated doctors and nurses and drugged ! Where is Nangong Yi?"
Ruan Tianling raised his hand and gently massaged her temples.
"Nangong Yi is missing."
"Missing?! Was he kidnapped, or..."
"What do you think?"
Looking into Ruan Tianling’s calm eyes for a while, Jian Yufei understood everything.
"He was rescued, it seems there really is sothing wrong with him."
"Yes. Fortunately, they didn’t harm you." As long as she was safe, nothing else much mattered to him.
Jian Yufei was puzzled, "How did they know Nangong Yi was there? We kept it confidential at the hospital. Could it be..."
"What did you think of?"
Jian Yufei boldly said, "Soone tipped Nangong Yi off. Maybe they already knew we had captured him."
Ruan Tianling smiled approvingly, "You’re right. Do you know who passed on the ssage?"
"It’s that maid, the one who admires him."
