Maybe Ye Shaoguang was too bored. He was bored to the point where he started looking for things to do.
After sitting for some time, Ye Shaoguang got up and went for a shower in the bathroom. He did not put on any clothes as he left the showers. When he got into bed, he stripped Ji Mianmian’s clothes off her body.
He was exhausted. Thus, he might as well provide some solace for himself.
Ji Mianmian’s body was soft, just like her personality, a softie. When she was unconscious, she seemed cute to him. At least he did not have to face her constant provocation.
Ye Shaoguang had difficulty falling asleep after laying down. Exhausted in the middle of the night and holding onto a soft body, it was impossible to not have any reaction. However, he did not carry out any extra movements. Instead, this type of natural reaction and urge made Ye Shaoguang fortable.

Ye Shaoguang thought, perhaps, his world was too quiet, too lonely. Hence, his heart softened when meeting a troublemaker like Ji Mianmian. Ji Mianmian’s actions were akin to tossing tiny pebbles into his deathly still world, causing ripples in his heart. It made him feel like his heart was beating again.
Ye Shaoguang lowered his head and gave Ji Mianmian a kiss on her forehead. His lips were chilly while her forehead was warm. The moment hot and cold touched, the heat was transferred over. Ye Shaoguang’s heart seemingly warmed up a little.
Ji Mianmian unconsciously snuggled into Ye Shaoguang’s bosom.
He blanked out for a moment, then curled his lips. Maybe he was too lonely, so he was looking for someone to play with.
Just like when he was back in kindergarten, nobody wanted to play with him. He had to find ways to get toys.
Ji Mianmian… was Ye Shaoguang’s toy. He just started playing and was still excited. He was not tired of it yet.
Ye Shaoguang closed his eyes, then drifted into a light sleep.
It was almost dawn, and a drizzle started outside. That summer, Hai City and the entire southern area had less rain than in previous years. Most places were dry. This rainy day finally provided some relief for the scorched city.
Ye Shaoguang heard the sound of raindrops on the window. It was said that one sleeps better on a rainy day. Listening to the sounds of raindrops, Ye Shaoguang slowly sank into a deep slumber.

Ji Mianmian woke up from the heat. She felt as if she was thrown into a grill. The heat seemingly burned up her throat, causing much disfort.
Ji Mianmian tossed around for a while before opening an eye. She could vaguely see a face. Then, something heavy fell on her forehead, which turned out to be a hand.
Ji Mianmian shook her head hard, widened her eyes, and finally saw the person in front of her. It was Ye Shaoguang’s handsome face. His hair was disheveled, and his face carried a hint of exhaustion. His eyes were slightly bloodshot. He lifted his hand off her head.
Ji Mianmian blurted out, “You… where am I?”
Opening her mouth, Ji Mianmian realized her voice was hoarse and nasally. It was difficult to breathe as her nose was blocked. She had caught a cold.
