Her words were like a bomb dropped out of nowhere. Helan Mingde was so shocked that he swayed on his feet.
He could scarcely believe that his wife of many years, who had always been a blushing maiden on the bed, actually…she actually…had done something so shameless during the years where society was even more conservative and traditional than today.

Mrs. Helan’s face paled. “What nonsense. You’re slandering me! Su Ningmei, you b*tch—you dare to dirty my name?!” she screamed. “Why didn’t you say anything then if I’d really done it? Why keep it all within till now? Think carefully before you try to throw accusations at me.”
Her words gave Helan Mingde one last strand of hope. She was right—why did Mrs. Yue not say anything before? Why did she wait until now?
Mrs. Yue shook her head. “Would it have been any use to hold that grudge after all this time? You ask me why I choose only to reveal everything now. It’s because I wanted to give you a chance—I didn’t want to shame you. I was hinging on the fact that we grew up together—I want you to have an opportunity to change.
“But you? You’ve provoked me again and again. You have no idea how to preserve yourself. You just kept inviting trouble and refused to live a peaceful life. Since you’ve walked so far down the road of destruction, I have no obligation to preserve your dignity anymore.”
A person consumed by jealousy and hatred cannot be persuaded to listen to anything. Mrs. Helan would not believe Mrs. Yue had given her a chance; she maintained that Mrs. Yue was a spiteful, vengeful b*tch with vicious intentions. She continued to think Mrs. Yue had always clung onto this trump card, waiting for the moment to throw her into the pit.
“Faker! You’re just jealous of me. You’re jealous that I have a better life than yours. It must be that… My dear husband, you must believe me. You know my character after all these years…How could I do such a thing?”
Helan Mingde did not move. He stared at Mrs. Helan.
He did not fully believe Mrs. Yue’s words, but his heart was still shaken by them.
If she was telling a lie, how could she speak of it with such detail after all this while? Helan Mingde knew how Mrs. Yue was like. He also knew that his wife had bullied her plenty of times, and had taken advantage of the Yue family on many occasions.
Yet Mrs. Yue had never held a grudge against her. Her going ballistic this time—it was probably because his wife had driven her nuts.
If they talked about Mrs. Yue’s temperament, she had no reason to lie, and she would not lie.
However… this was his wife. Helan Mingde did not dare to fully believe that his wife had done something so shameless.
“Did you really think that I had no idea about your antics throughout all those years?” Helan Mingde heard Mrs. Yue say as he was struggling internally. “I thought that you valued your exam results more than your own virginity, so that was why I did not expose you that year—what could I say to that, after all?
