"We’re rebelling against Zhao Yi, to destroy Zhao Yi! To establish our world!"
The guard showed no regard for supposed betrayal, rcilessly pulling out the weapon. After his opponent fell, he ordered the insiders to attack other colleagues and opened the gates to let the cultists in. Both sides began a massacre! Countless righteous cultivators fell.
At the sa ti, chaos erupted in the capital city. Cultists used magic to set fires everywhere; many buildings caught fire. So righteous cultivators tried to extinguish the fires, only to be ambushed and surrounded, while the timid hid at ho, shivering in fear.
The chaos in the city caught the attention of the gatekeepers. Just as they intended to investigate, the cultists launched surprise attacks. These unprepared gatekeepers were quickly slain in large numbers, and the few remaining leaped off the city walls to escape directly.
"Don’t pursue them! Get ready to summon the Evil God imdiately!"
The leader of the cultists, nad Yang Wuque, was dressed in a black robe with his hands hidden in his sleeves. His eyes glead with excitent that he could hardly suppress, causing his voice to tremble as he spoke!
Upon hearing Yang Wuque’s order, everyone began to unbutton their clothes, and a horrifying scene appeared on the city walls!
The upper bodies of the cultists were those of normal humans, but their legs were entirely skeletal. At this mont, their faces were filled with excitent as they recited obscure and incomprehensible spells with their hands clasped together. The flesh and blood of their bodies quickly disappeared until they turned into skeletons on the ground.
Hundreds of skeletons piled up on the city walls, exuding a powerful aura of death.
"Finally, the mont has co! I didn’t expect it to be so swift! So smooth! Evil God, you can soon co!"
Yang Wuque’s voice trembled as he gazed at several other spots.
Thick black smoke rose from the other three locations on the city walls, which Yang Wuque recognized as a signal of success.
He revealed his now skeletal hands, waving incessantly in the air as strange symbols appeared. The skeletons began to shiver, and the rest of the cultists held up black banners swaying them around constantly.
A gale gradually picked up around the city wall, coalescing around the skeletons to form a tornado. But a minute later, the tornado began to fade.
anwhile, the sky changed; the previously starry, clear night was suddenly overcast with thick clouds that seed to threaten to swallow the entire capital. So righteous cultivators looked up and, realizing the clouds were imnsely dangerous, attacked them, only to be hit back, coughing up blood and fainting.
Those who fell to the ground lost their fighting spirit, filled with helplessness and anger. To them, the New World was like a Peach Blossom Spring in the cruel cosmos, yet it was now facing destruction they could not prevent!
At this mont, the thick clouds in the sky ford a massive vortex, and from the endless black hole at its center ca a low humming sound. So cultivators felt their insides churn upon hearing it, and those already seriously wounded fainted imdiately, while others couldn’t stop vomiting.
The cultists, however, seed invigorated, cheering continuously, as this sound signaled the imminent arrival of the Evil God!
"Hooray! Hooray! Hooray!"
They shouted in unison, welcoming the arrival of victory.
However, the next scene left the cultists dumbstruck! The vortex, which should have been expanding, and the black hole, which should have gradually grown, were now shrinking instead, eventually vanishing altogether, leaving only the thick clouds.
Yang Wuque was also dumbfounded!
No steps were wrong; how could this happen? Even if sothing went wrong, this should not have been the outco!
Unconvinced, Yang Wuque, thinking it was due to a lack of sincerity, knelt down with the cultists and restarted the ritual. Once again, the vortex appeared in the sky, and everyone cheered, only for the vortex to disappear!
After three attempts, both Yang Wuque and the cultists began to doubt their very existence. Innocently, they thought it might be due to the cheering, so they all fell silent, but even the clouds disappeared!

A cultist shouted, pointing to sothing mid-air.
The cultists looked over and, upon seeing clearly, were filled with dread.
"That’s not the Evil God! That’s Zhao Yi! That cursed one must be behind this trickery."
"How did he manage to get here!"
With Zhao Yi’s appearance, light reignited in the eyes of the righteous cultivators, their extinguished hope rekindled as they realized the New World was safe!
"Retreat imdiately! Withdraw from the city!"
Yang Wuque knew Zhao Yi’s arrival ant he wasn’t alone! He must have co with a group!
Confronting them would an certain death; retreat while there’s still ti!
But it was all too late!
A cultist attempted to flee by jumping off the city wall after receiving Yang Wuque’s order, only to crash into a transparent barrier with a scream, disintegrating into black smoke.
At this mont, Linglong appeared in the distance with dozens of students, and the Barrier revealed its true form.
Seeing the Barrier enclosing the entire capital gave Yang Wuque a sense of desperation.
He didn’t understand how the plan had failed or how Linglong and the others had prepared so thoroughly.
"You’re afraid? And a little confused too?"
A gentle voice ca from behind Yang Wuque, who turned to see the serene face of Zhao Yi.
The cultists launched an attack on Zhao Yi without waiting for his orders. However, they had barely taken two steps before turning into a wisp of blue smoke and vanishing.
"The Law of Life truly is a useful thing!"
"Thanks for the complint; you surprised . I thought you’d crumble, but here you are talking to ."
Zhao Yi stopped five ters away, facing off with Yang Wuque, whose very presence emitted an aura of disgust. Zhao Yi didn’t wish to get too close.
