.....
As their aura surged, a mountain of corpses seed to rise, and the Sin Dragon stretched its head.
Spiritual energy surged from within, soaring into the sky.
Lu Ding and Bai Hen stepped out from opposite sides of the tree.
The tall tree acted like a boundary,
dividing the two auras.
The darkness was tinted by two kinds of light—Lu Ding’s entire body radiated spiritual energy that spat out in thick black smoke.
He raised his hand.
The phone screen lit up the side of his face.
With cold eyes, Lu Ding asked in an icy tone, “Who are you trying to kill?”
Cao Ying was shocked.
Turned left: Bai Hen.
Turned right: Lu Ding!!
Hey! Bro might live after all!
He flipped up like a carp, about to get up.
Li the Cripple’s face turned grim—he didn’t care anymore.
After all these years running mountains, was he gonna be scared by a few kids!?
Twisting midair, he channeled power into his spell, and that massive leg—dozens of ters long—swept toward the trio!!!
Lu Ding stepped forward, his back halo flashing.
Boom—a dull thud.
He raised his hand to block, and with almost no effort, caught Li the Cripple’s kick.
That stunned Li the Cripple.
A kick like that could topple century-old trees and send their roots flying.
This guy blocked it with one hand. He wasn’t so harmless nobody.
Cao Ying also stood up, pointed a finger: “Li the Cripple, you’re fed now!”
Lu Ding struck instantly, spiritual energy gathered, palm turned blade, and he slashed down.
“AHHHHHHH!!!!”
Li the Cripple’s giant leg was severed clean at the ankle.
His spell broke, the foot returned to normal, and he collapsed to the ground, screaming as blood gushed from his mouth.
The backlash wasn’t light.
He propped himself up on his elbows and backed away, eyes filled with fear: “Get him!!”
“Everyone get him!!!”
A crowd of mountain goons who made a living under him rushed toward Lu Ding.
Next mont—
Lu Ding waved his hand lightly, and a wind-like, invisible slash erupted.
Hell itself seed to unfold on earth.
The once-loyal brothers were now flattened into the ground.
The wind ceased, blood filled the air, and a single strand of hair floated gently down.
Only then did Li the Cripple realize who it was.
“Lu Ding!! That weird slash—you’re Lu Ding, the Corpse-Shattering Taishui from Yunhai!!”
“What the hell are you doing here? Weren’t you in Yunng?”
Cao Ying walked up, speaking casually, and slapped him: “I spared your life to ask questions, not for you to ask them.”
But he was drained from running, spiritual energy low. Li the Cripple ducked the slap.
Still, another smack echoed.
Smack!
Bai Hen followed with a slap from the other side,
knocking a bloody tooth right out of Li the Cripple’s mouth.
“You dare dodge?!”
Li the Cripple held his face and looked at Lu Ding: “You... what do you want to know?”
Lu Ding looked down on him: “How did you know I was in Yunng?”
Li the Cripple’s eyes shifted: “If I tell you... can I live?”
Cao Ying raised his hand for another slap.
Li the Cripple ducked again.
Cao Ying: “Eh?!”
Bai Hen slapped again—another tooth gone.
“Still dodging? Talk.”
Li the Cripple kept holding his face: “I know a lot of people in the Tianli Cult. I heard it from them.”
That wasn’t surprising.
Lu Ding kept questioning: “Didn’t you tell your nephew you’d co after the corn harvest? Why are you here so early?”
Li the Cripple glanced around at Cao Ying and Bai Hen, bracing to dodge.
“If I tell you, can I live? I’m already this injured—I won’t be a threat anymore.”
“Who said you get to bargain?”
The wind stirred again—Li the Cripple ducked Cao Ying’s slap,
then sidestepped in anticipation of Bai Hen’s.
This ti, Bai Hen missed.
Li the Cripple felt a bit smug—ha, dodged it!
Then Lu Ding lifted his leg.
BOOM!!!
Li the Cripple was launched, tumbling a dozen ters before slamming into a rock. Cracks spread out behind him, blood sprayed again.
“Did I say you could dodge?”
Lu Ding spoke.
Pain flooded in—Li the Cripple felt like his guts had shattered.
He kept coughing and spitting blood,
silently cursing these three for not following the code of the streets.
Taking turns beating him up.
First dodge, second dodge—then ca Lu Ding, the third.
Even threw in a kick.
“Cough, cough, cough... I’ll talk... I’ll talk, just stop hitting .”
Li the Cripple raised a hand to stop them: “It was that btard Changhai—he lied to . Said he’d wait till after the harvest. I believed him!”
“Turns out he turned around and sold the info to a local Shepherd.”
“I caught wind of it, but wasn’t sure. Figured I better co early, not gonna let him drag down.”
“But I just found out—he sold the info to the Bai Family.”
The Bai Family?
Lu Ding turned slightly to look at Bai Hen.
Sure enough—
the mont Bai Hen heard that surna, his expression darkened.
Lu Ding made a ntal note.
“What’s the situation now with the Golden Toad Nesting on an Egg?”
This ti, Li the Cripple didn’t dare say anything about bargaining.
He answered imdiately, with no hesitation, telling Lu Ding the general situation.
Basically, Cao Ying had spooked the Golden Toad.
It burrowed underground and wouldn’t co out.
The Bai Family had still been digging over there.
“They were using a compass to track it, but when I left, they seed to be packing up too—probably ans the toad ran again.”
“But it won’t go far. The feng shui layout only covers so much area. Its movent range is limited.”
Seems like this thing really was hard to catch.
Lu Ding thought to himself.
Cao Ying saw his thoughtful look: “Lu bro, you ca for this thing?”
It wasn’t a secret.
Lu Ding was already here, no point hiding it.
“Yeah, they’re building a road here, and the Golden Toad Nesting Formation’s in the way. I ca to deal with it.”
Cao Ying nodded, doing ntal math.
Just then, Bai Hen, who hadn’t spoken much, suddenly asked: “That Bai Family you ntioned—what’s their deal?”
“The Bai Family...”
“Investigator Bai, just ask . I know more than he does.”
Li the Cripple shot him a glare—f**er, I give you face, and you slap back.
You didn’t just steal my Zhima Beasts, now you’re stealing my shot at survival too!!!
“Then you’re useless, aren’t you?”
Lu Ding followed up.
Li the Cripple instantly panicked.
“I’m useful—I still can—”
A slash cleaved down,
slicing Li the Cripple and the rock behind him clean in half.
He was cut down on the spot.
Lu Ding: “You can rot here and be fertilizer.”
