Mo Xiuchen personally cooked dinner.
After Wen Ran checked and organized everything, she talked to Gu Kai on the phone for a while before going downstairs.
As soon as she entered the living room, she slled the rich aroma of food, a slight smile appearing on her lips. She walked into the kitchen and gently hugged Mo Xiuchen from behind.
“Ranran!”
Mo Xiuchen chuckled softly, his voice mixing with deep affection as it escaped his thin lips.
Wen Ran pressed her face against his back, speaking in a coquettish tone, “Xiuchen, it slls so good.”
“Is it who slls good, or is it the food?” Mo Xiuchen asked teasingly, turned his head, stole a kiss from her face, and then turned back to continue stir-frying.
“You sll good, and the food slls good too.”
“Then you eat your al first, and then eat .” Mo Xiuchen generously offered himself as well.
Wen Ran giggled, her tone filled with happiness, “Okay, let think, you are such a big person, how should I eat you?”
“Eat however you want, stead or braised, it’s up to you.” Mo Xiuchen’s thin lips curved into a pleased smile.
After finishing the cooking, Wen Ran helped serve the dishes and pour the porridge.
Mo Xiuchen ate with Wen Ran, talked with her for a while, prepared her bath water, and told her to take a bath and rest early, as he was going out for a bit.
Half an hour later, Mo Xiuchen arrived at Yi Pin Xuan Pavilion.
In a private room on the third floor, Wen Jin, Gu Kai, and Lu Zhiyan were discussing sothing. When they saw him co in, Wen Jin pulled out a chair next to her. Mo Xiuchen walked over, greeted Lu Zhiyan, and sat down next to Wen Jin.
“Any leads?”
Mo Xiuchen asked as soon as he sat down.
Lu Zhiyan answered with a question instead, “Have you really not offended anyone lately?”
“Of course not.” Mo Xiuchen answered confidently. He hadn’t offended any clients recently, nor had he snatched anyone’s deals; his focus had been on internal adjustnts.
“If you haven’t offended anyone recently, could it be soone you offended before? Cheng Jia has been silent all along, hasn’t she?”
Gu Kai picked up the conversation.
Wen Jin also nodded, “That incident, Cheng Jia doesn’t know it was Mo Jingteng’s doing. She must definitely hold a grudge against you and Ranran. If it was her who found soone…”
“I am taking Ranran abroad tomorrow for a vacation, and we won’t be back until after the fifteenth.”
Mo Xiuchen said this, his gaze directed at Lu Zhiyan.
Implicitly, he ant that before he and Wen Ran returned to the country, the case must be solved.
Lu Zhiyan’s expression turned solemn. Just as he was about to say sothing, his phone rang. He took out his phone and answered the call. It was unclear what the other party said, but Lu Zhiyan’s eyes brightened, “I’ll be right there.”
Lu Zhiyan stood up and said to Mo Xiuchen and the others, “I’ve got a lead, I’ll update you guys later.”
With those words, he hurried away.
Mo Xiuchen’s eyes narrowed as he watched Lu Zhiyan leave the room. Then, he picked up the glass of water that Gu Kai had poured for him and took a sip.

Wen Jin asked worriedly, “This afternoon, I had only spoken a single sentence to Ranran when Mo Xiuchen took over the phone.”
After finishing his water, Mo Xiuchen said indifferently, “Ranran is fine.”
The three of them chatted for a few minutes, and then Mo Xiuchen’s phone rang, a call from Qin Mu.
“Hello, Ah Mu.”
Mo Xiuchen pressed the answer button, his voice low and calm.
Over the phone, Qin Mu’s voice ca through, “Mo Xiuchen, I just saw the news, what exactly happened?”
Because Lu Zhiyan was looking for leads, he had posted about this afternoon’s incident online. To those unfamiliar, it was not clear it involved Wen Ran, but for soone like Qin Mu, it was imdiately obvious.
Mo Xiuchen briefly explained what had happened, and then added, “Ah Mu, we might soon find out the identity of the other party, don’t worry. Has Ah Feng called you?”
“He did, half an hour ago. He said the contract might change. His mother threatened with suicide, demanding not only that he marry Qi iling but also that he continue to collaborate with the Qi Family.”
Mo Xiuchen’s expression darkened. If that was true, their efforts over the past few months would have been in vain.
This must have been the Qi Family’s idea. Following what Luo Haofeng had said that afternoon, if Qi iling hadn’t gone to see his mother… Mo Xiuchen furrowed his handso brows, “Did Ah Feng agree?”
“It’s still a stalemate, but I think Ah Feng will agree sooner or later.”
They all knew about Luo Haofeng’s mother’s strong-willed personality. Over the years, although Luo Haofeng’s father was the chairman of the company, his mother was the real decision-maker.
Because, back then, his father had married his mother for profit.
A hint of coldness flashed in Mo Xiuchen’s eyes, his tone tinged with derision, “If they’re willing to pay the penalty fee, I have no objections.”

Wen Jin and Gu Kai listened in surprise as Mo Xiuchen talked on the phone. Observing their expressions, Mo Xiuchen briefly explained after hanging up:
“His mother slit her wrists this morning, forcing him to break up with Bai Xiaoxiao, to marry Qi iling, and to terminate our previous contract to entangle himself with the Qi Family indefinitely.”
Shock appeared on the faces of Gu Kai and Wen Jin.
Wen Jin said lightly, “I heard Luo Haofeng’s mother has a strong personality and she truly calls the shots in the Luo Family.”
“Yes, that’s indeed the case,” Mo Xiuchen nodded, his expression sowhat indifferent.
Gu Kai paused to think, then asked with concern, “Then, isn’t Ah Feng going to break up with Bai Xiaoxiao again? The last ti it was he who initiated the breakup. If he breaks up again, it might really be over between him and Bai Xiaoxiao.”
“The crux of the problem actually lies with Qi iling,” Wen Jin shared his view. “If Qi iling is unwilling to marry Ah Feng, there might be room for maneuvering.”
Mo Xiuchen agreed with Wen Jin’s perspective, “But Qi iling loves Ah Feng desperately; she won’t let go unless absolutely necessary.”
“That’s not necessarily true. Initially, Xiaoxiao’s persistence towards Xiao Yuting was no less than Qi iling’s for Luo Haofeng now. Yet later, Xiaoxiao still forgot him. There are many in this world who love but cannot have; not everyone can be like Cheng Jia and Shen Yuting.”
Wen Jin’s tone carried a hint of mockery towards Mo Xiuchen towards the end.
Mo Xiuchen narrowed his eyes, a faint smile curving his lips, and he said carelessly, “True, not all n have a woman’s undying love. Just like you guys, now all still single dogs, tsk tsk, truly pitiful.”
