Chapter 1034: 1033 Explanation
Wen Ran forced a smile, but before she could speak, Mother Bai said again, “Luo Haofeng’s betrayal must have been a huge blow to Xiaoxiao. But he and Xiaoxiao were never ant to be in the sa world anyway, marrying that woman with the surna Qi was inevitable.”
“Aunt Qiao, what betrayal?”
Wen Ran asked, puzzled.
Last ti, Mother Bai told her that Luo Haofeng’s mother had called and warned her not to let Xiaoxiao cling to Luo Haofeng anymore.
But she did not ntion anything about Luo Haofeng betraying Xiaoxiao.
“Ranran, don’t you know?”
Mother Bai looked at Wen Ran with a puzzled and slightly angry face, “Aunt Qiao, know what?”
“Luo Haofeng betrayed Xiaoxiao, got together with Qi iling, and even sent the photos to Xiaoxiao. These were told to by Luo Haofeng’s mother. Not only that, but she also slit her wrists in a suicide attempt, threatening Luo Haofeng to break up with Xiaoxiao.”
Wen Ran’s face changed, disbelief in her voice: “Aunt Qiao, when did all this happen, why don’t I know about it?”
Luo Haofeng and Qi iling together, his mother even attempting suicide?
How could she have been completely unaware?
“It happened the day you ca to my house last ti. The woman attempted suicide, and so ti ago, Luo Haofeng got together with Qi iling.”
Hearing what Mother Bai said, Wen Ran felt an indescribable complexity in her heart.

“Ranran, why are you unhappy?”
On the road, Mo Xiuchen glanced at Wen Ran sitting in the passenger seat, asking with concern.
Her mood was not hidden; it was clearly written on her fair and pretty face, plainly showing her displeasure.
“Mo Xiuchen, you’ve known about Luo Haofeng and Xiaoxiao for a long ti, haven’t you?”
Wen Ran looked at Mo Xiuchen with a faint gaze, her voice just as faint, showing little emotion.
Mo Xiuchen’s hand on the steering wheel tightened slightly, his handso brows furrowing. Just now, when Wen Ran got into the car, her cold attitude towards him was not like her usual bright smiles.
He had guessed that Ranran might have found out.
“Ranran, I’ll explain when we get ho.”
After a brief silence, Mo Xiuchen spoke softly.
Wen Ran pursed her lips and didn’t respond, just turning her head to look outside the window.
The air in the car suddenly felt thin, and seeing Wen Ran look out the window, Mo Xiuchen felt as if sothing was lodged in his chest, a suffocating depression.
These past few months, he and Ranran had gotten along very well. He found it hard to adjust to her sudden coldness.
Unable to bear the silence filling the car, two minutes later, Mo Xiuchen slowed down and stopped the Aston on the roadside.
Turning towards her, his deep eyes gently gazed at Wen Ran, his low and magnetic voice breaking the silence in the car, “Ranran, are you mad at ?”
“No.”
Wen Ran averted her gaze, not turning to look at Mo Xiuchen himself, but looking at the man in the mirror.
Mo Xiuchen reached out to hold her hand, but Wen Ran instinctively moved away. Mo Xiuchen’s hand remained motionless, his deep eyes growing dimr, his voice dropping a tone lower, “Ranran, I know that Bai Xiaoxiao is your best friend. You should have been told about her break-up with Luo Haofeng.”
Wen Ran pursed her lips harder, her voice taking on a colder edge, “It’s true you ant well for , but Xiaoxiao is my best friend. She went abroad because of my suggestion. Alone in a foreign land, she used to tell everything. If it weren’t for you also making her keep it from , she could have at least confided in .”
Mo Xiuchen’s chest tightened.
He still reached out and took her hand, this ti, Wen Ran didn’t pull away, but her hand was sowhat stiff.
Mo Xiuchen held her hand tenderly, staring into her eyes brimming with complex emotions, thinking of what Luo Haofeng had told him last night.
Wen Ran looked up, her eyes calm and slightly glistening.
“Luo Haofeng was set up by Qi iling and her mother together. Qi iling took photos of them in bed and sent them to Bai Xiaoxiao. At that ti, you had just discovered you were pregnant and were suffering from severe morning sickness. I was afraid it would upset you again because of Bai Xiaoxiao’s situation, so I called her and asked her not to tell you for the ti being.”
Wen Ran lowered her gaze, no longer looking at Mo Xiuchen.
She knew that whatever Mo Xiuchen did, he did it with her at the center, and his intentions towards her were genuine.
However, when she thought of Xiaoxiao being alone in a foreign land, heartbroken, without a friend to confide in, yet pretending to be happy during their calls, her heart ached.
“Ranran, if you’re angry, you can scold , even hit . Don’t keep it bottled up inside. You can’t afford to get angry or to be sad right now.”
Mo Xiuchen looked at Wen Ran with concern, knowing that if it hadn’t been for her pregnancy, he wouldn’t have kept it from her.
In his heart, no one was more important than Wen Ran, but he hadn’t forced Bai Xiaoxiao; it was she who had actively suggested keeping it from Ranran.
Although, he had used a little trickery, deliberately telling Bai Xiaoxiao about Wen Ran’s pregnancy.
Wen Ran pursed her lips tightly and asked faintly, “So now, is Luo Haofeng with Qi iling?”
“They’re not really together at the mont. Ah Feng has always disliked Qi iling, but the Qi Family, desperate to beco in-laws with the Luo Family, is stopping at nothing, and there’s still a lot of trouble.”
Mo Xiuchen chose his words carefully, uncertain of the truth about that matter.
He hesitated, wondering whether to tell Ranran.
Wen Ran considered his words, a mocking smile forming on her lips, “Forget it. Whatever happened, whether Luo Haofeng was set up or willing, Xiaoxiao definitely won’t be entangled with him anymore.”
“Ranran.”
Mo Xiuchen called softly.
Wen Ran took a deep breath, forcing a strained smile on her face, “Let’s drive. We can’t stay here forever.”
“Ranran, if you’re worried about Bai Xiaoxiao, I can arrange a trip for us to visit her in D Country.”
Though separated by the Pacific Ocean, the distance was not insurmountable.
“No need. What’s the point of seeing her now? She’s already gotten through the hardest ti by herself. Mo Xiuchen, let’s go ho. I’m tired.”
Wen Ran said, leaning back into the seat and closing her eyes, saying no more.
Mo Xiuchen pursed his lips, released her hand, and gently brushed a few strands of hair from her face to behind her ear before starting the car again.
The rest of the journey was very quiet.
Upon reaching ho, Mo Xiuchen saw that Wen Ran still had her eyes closed, thinking she was asleep, so he didn’t get out of the car. Instead, he sat there, quietly watching her.
Suddenly, Wen Ran’s closed eyes snapped open, and eting his tender and deep gaze, a pang shot through her heart, inexplicably reminding her of so night when he had stayed with her in the car until midnight.
The depression she felt and her displeasure at being kept in the dark by him were suddenly overshadowed by a tinge of heartache!
