Chapter 1044: 1043 amicably together, amicably apart
“It depends on when you decide to co back to the country,” Wen Ran teased.
“What do you an?” Bai Xiaoxiao imdiately asked, dissatisfied.
Wen Ran extended her hand towards the milk beside her, and Bai Xiaoxiao picked it up and handed it to her. After drinking the milk, Wen Ran said, “When you co back, if my son and daughter are only two or three months old, how am I supposed to bring them to pick you up? Unless you decide to return a few years later, when they can walk, then I could bring them to greet you.”
“Not a chance. I want to co back early and bond with my godson and goddaughter. Ideally, by that ti, they’ll be closer to than to you.”
Bai Xiaoxiao imagined a picture of two little bundles clinging to her, calling her ‘godmother’ with every breath, and a smug smile spread across her eyes and brows.
Wen Ran looked at the smile on her face and, seeming casual, asked, “Xiaoxiao, do you hate Luo Haofeng?”
“Huh?”
Wen Ran had changed the subject so abruptly that Bai Xiaoxiao only caught the ntion of “Luo Haofeng,” and it took her a mont to process what had been said. After she had mulled it over in her mind, she said indifferently, “There’s nothing to hate or not hate. He never forced . It was a mutual decision, and now we’ve parted on good terms.”
At first, when Bai Xiaoxiao received the photos sent by Qi iling, she did feel resentful.
Whether Luo Haofeng was manipulated or succumbed to reality, she hated that he had betrayed her.
But now, she truly harbored no resentnt.
Because to forget soone, one must let go of love and hate. Only with no emotions left can you truly move on from the relationship.
“Xiaoxiao, you’ll definitely find your own happiness,” Wen Ran said softly after a mont of silence.
By now, she couldn’t possibly advise Xiaoxiao to understand Luo Haofeng, or to wait for him.
Even if Luo Haofeng was making an effort, Bai Xiaoxiao had the right to start a new life. If Luo Haofeng managed to do it in ti, he could re-enter Xiaoxiao’s life. If he was too late, Wen Ran hoped that Xiaoxiao would find a man who loved and cherished her and could protect her for a lifeti.

International Airport.
Mo Xiuchen kept his promise and arrived at the airport early to wait for Wen Ran.
Seeing her appear in the security check aisle, Mo Xiuchen’s dark and deep eyes instantly lit up. His eyebrows, which were cold and indifferent just a second ago, ward up in an instant. He strode forward and embraced Wen Ran as she exited the security checkpoint.
“Ranran, did you miss ?”
Pulling Wen Ran aside, Mo Xiuchen held her hand and examined her closely, as if to make sure she hadn’t lost weight during her days abroad.
Wen Jin, Qing Feng, and Qing Yang, who followed Wen Ran out, tactfully didn’t disturb them and headed out of the airport first.
Wen Ran nodded lightly: “Yes.”
A single character made Mo Xiuchen’s smile between his brows instantly bright and captivating. He changed the way he held her hand to an interlocked grip and led her out of the airport.
In the car, he planted a kiss on her cheek and then buckled her seatbelt for her.
“Mo Xiuchen, have you taken care of the business in City C?” On the way back, Wen Ran looked at Mo Xiuchen, who was driving, and asked with concern.
Mo Xiuchen turned his eyes to look at her and answered gently, “Yeah, I’ve basically taken care of everything. The remaining tasks, Ah Mu will handle.”
Because there was a lot to do in G City as well, Mo Xiuchen had hurried back.
Not wanting to distract him while he was driving, Wen Ran didn’t speak on the way and instead closed her eyes to rest. Wen Ran was powerless against Mo Xiuchen’s domineering ways, but her heart reveled in it, “Then let’s go to sleep early tonight.”
“Okay.” After saying that, Mo Xiuchen picked her up, strode to the bed, placed her on it, and his tall figure followed her down.

The next morning, Wen Ran woke up to find that Mo Xiuchen had already gone to work.
While having breakfast, Mo Xiuchen called, “Ranran, rest at ho today. Tonight, I’ll accompany you for dinner with Bai Xiaoxiao’s parents. I’ve already booked the restaurant.”
“That soon?”
Wen Ran was sowhat surprised. Last night before going to sleep, Mo Xiuchen told her about inviting Xiaoxiao’s parents for dinner tonight, assuring her not to worry, as he would arrange everything.
“Yeah, President Bai, upon hearing that you visited D Country and saw Xiaoxiao, agreed very readily.” Mo Xiuchen didn’t ntion that Wen Ran had specifically gone to D Country to find Xiaoxiao.
Because she had previously been treated for an illness in D Country, such an excuse wouldn’t seem odd to Mr. Bai at all.
Wen Ran smiled and said, “Alright then, I’ll rest at ho today and not go to the company to be with you. Co and pick up tonight.”
To let her rest well, Mo Xiuchen didn’t call her again all day and only ca back to pick her up after work in the evening.
The dinner that evening was very pleasant.
Mo Xiuchen and Mr. Bai talked about business matters, while Mother Bai and Wen Ran chatted about everyday life, with Wen Ran telling them about Xiaoxiao’s studies abroad.
After the dinner, just as they got back ho, Luo Haofeng called.
Mo Xiuchen replied with, “I’ll call you back in a bit,” then hung up the phone and accompanied Wen Ran upstairs to run a bath for her.
While Wen Ran bathed, Mo Xiuchen ward up a cup of milk for her and then sat on the sofa, keeping her company.
