The air in the hospital ward suddenly beca sowhat thin.
Suddenly, Gu Kai’s voice broke the silence, echoing deeply in the room, “Bai Yiyi, who is Tongtong’s biological father?”
Bai Yiyi’s heart skipped a beat.

“Are you feeling guilty?”

Instinctively, Bai Yiyi leaned back, distancing herself from him and forced herself to et Gu Kai’s penetrating gaze straight on, “Why would I feel guilty? Stop being so paranoid. If you want a child, just hurry up and marry Fang Zhiwei and have one.”
A cold arc ford at the corners of Gu Kai’s mouth, “If I already have a child, would I need to have another?”
“I don’t understand what you’re talking about?”
Bai Yiyi’s face suddenly changed.
Her voice carried a hint of stiffness.
Gu Kai blinked nonchalantly and said slowly, “Bai Yiyi, I suspect Tongtong is my daughter, so if you don’t admit it, I will prove it myself.”
“Gu Kai, Tongtong has nothing to do with you.”

Bai Yiyi pursed her lips; after two rings, Li En’s voice ca through, “Hello, Yiyi, why are you calling so late? Is it Tongtong’s eyes…”
“Elder Brother Li, co to the hospital, I need to talk to you.”
Bai Yiyi cut off Li En, speaking calmly.
“Alright, I’m coming now.”
Though puzzled, Li En did not refuse; if Bai Yiyi needed him, he couldn’t possibly refuse.
Bai Yiyi hung up the phone, and Gu Kai turned and walked away.
“Where are you going?”
“Out to wait for Elder Brother Li.”
Gu Kai headed toward the door without looking back.
Bai Yiyi’s complexion drastically changed as she blocked him, “Gu Kai, you must not go et Elder Brother Li alone.”
“Are you afraid that Li En won’t follow your script?” Gu Kai turned around, and from a few ters away, he looked at Bai Yiyi mockingly.
Under the light, Bai Yiyi’s face was sowhat pale as she t Gu Kai’s mocking gaze and said stiffly, “I don’t want to explain again to your girlfriend, Gu Kai. Miss Fang is such a good woman, how can you bear to hurt her?”
“How do I not know that I have hurt Zhi Wei?” Gu Kai said disdainfully.
“Haven’t you? Continuing like this and confronting Elder Brother Li, a fight is bound to happen. This is a hospital; if everyone here learns about our one-night stand, do you think Miss Fang won’t find out?” Bai Yiyi retorted.
Gu Kai frowned, about to retort, when Fang Zhiwei’s call ca through.
He glanced at Bai Yiyi, pressed the answer key, and accepted Fang Zhiwei’s call in front of her, hearing her voice from the phone, “Ah Kai, have you finished work?”
“Not yet, have you finished watching the movie?”
Gu Kai adjusted his tone slightly, making his voice gentle and calm.
“It’s quite late, and the movie isn’t over yet. Ah Kai, I’m in your office now. I wanted to invite you for a late-night snack, but I couldn’t find you.”
Upon hearing this, Gu Kai slightly furrowed his brow, glanced at Bai Yiyi, and said, “I’m at the ward now, I’ll be back soon.”
“Are you in Haofeng’s ward? No need to co back, I’ll co to you.”
Fang Zhiwei finished speaking and, without waiting for him to respond, hung up the phone.
Gu Kai stared at the disconnected phone screen for a few seconds, then looked up at Bai Yiyi again and left the ward.

Instead, she breathed a sigh of relief, knowing that Gu Kai was not going to et Li En but was going to et his girlfriend.

In the early morning, Wen Ran woke up just as Mo Xiuchen finished dressing and ca out of the walk-in closet.
Seeing her sit up, he strode to the bedside, reached out to support her, and asked softly, “Ranran, do you need to go to the restroom?”
“Yes.”
Wen Ran nodded. As the baby grew day by day, her trips to the restroom were increasing.
With Mo Xiuchen’s assistance, she got up from the bed and went to the restroom door. Only there did Mo Xiuchen release her.
“You don’t have to watch . Go downstairs, have breakfast, and head to work.” Wen Ran entered the restroom and reached to close the door, but Mo Xiuchen stopped her, “Don’t close it; I’ll wait for you.”

Mo Xiuchen knew she was silently protesting. His lips curved in an indulgent smile, and he dominantly stood at the restroom door, insisting on watching her for reassurance.
This behavior was not new today.
From the sixth month of Wen Ran’s pregnancy, he hadn’t allowed her to close the restroom door, citing his worries.
