Chapter 1179: Is Ah Jin close to her?
Gu Kai’s words turned Bai Yiyi’s face a slightly awkward shade.
She felt a bit annoyed.
What he ant was, she could ride whoever’s car she wanted, but Tongtong had to ride in his car. He would only take responsibility for driving Tongtong back.
Seeing a flicker of gunpowder in the air as Gu Kai and Bai Yiyi locked eyes, Wen Ran chuckled and tried to smooth things over, “Yiyi, since my brother is willing to take you and Tongtong, you should just ride in his car. Tongtong hasn’t seen her dad for such a long ti.”
“No need, Ranran, just let Qing Feng drive Tongtong and .” Perhaps, Bai Yiyi and Gu Kai were indeed like fire and water, incompatible. She turned her head, saying sarcastically, “Thank you, Doctor Gu, for picking up Tongtong and this morning. I won’t trouble you to spend ti away from your date with Miss Fang tonight; no need for you to drive us.”
Bai Yiyi deliberately emphasized the words ‘Miss Fang.’
After a brief pause, without waiting for Gu Kai to respond, she added, “Miss Fang is so gentle and generous, a woman who’s wholeheartedly devoted to you is rare. Doctor Gu, you should treat Miss Fang better. Don’t commit anything despicable, like being fickle and finally abandoning her.”
Gu Kai’s eyes narrowed dangerously, his gaze on Bai Yiyi growing dark, “My affairs are none of your concern.”
“I don’t want to ddle at all. Ranran, let’s go find Qing Feng.” Bai Yiyi glared fiercely at Gu Kai, then took Wen Ran and was about to leave.
“You wouldn’t have taken a fancy to Qing Feng, would you, Bai Yiyi? Don’t forget what you promised,” stated Gu Kai, seeing Bai Yiyi glare at him and then happily taking Wen Ran to leave.
He felt uncomfortably irked for so reason.
Bai Yiyi stopped in her tracks, turned around and saw Gu Kai’s lips curled in a smile that was one part triumph and two parts mockery. She pursed her lips tightly and cursed “scoundrel,” then took Wen Ran and walked away.
Mo Xiuchen watched Gu Kai with deep eyes, saying nonchalantly, “Ah Kai, why are you always picking on Bai Yiyi? After all, she is the mother of your child. Without her, would you have the chance to be a father?”
“Who asked her to be so annoying,” Gu Kai coldly retorted. Seeing Bai Yiyi and Wen Ran truly heading towards Qing Feng by the pool, his handso face turned a shade grimr, “Mo Xiuchen, I’m going to take Tongtong ho now.”
“Ah Kai.”
Gu Kai was about to leave when Mo Xiuchen called him again.
“What else is there?” Gu Kai turned and looked at Mo Xiuchen.
“The way you fight with Bai Yiyi every ti you et, it’s not good for Tongtong. If you can’t find a way to coexist peacefully with her, it’s better you see her less. Let Qing Feng take them ho, or you could even let Ah Jin drive them.”
“Ah Jin?”
Gu Kai’s eyes suddenly narrowed.
“Is there a problem with Ah Jin?”
Mo Xiuchen looked at Gu Kai with a touch of amusent; his expression was sowhat peculiar.
“Is Ah Jin very close to Bai Yiyi?”
Gu Kai’s thin lips tightened, as he asked coldly.
“Not only do they have a boss-secretary relationship, but they are also friends,” Mo Xiuchen pondered for a mont and patiently explained, “Put it this way, because Yiyi is a single mother, it’s tough for her, and Ah Jin takes good care of her.”
“Bai Yiyi really can’t change her habit of seducing n,” Gu Kai snorted coldly, recalling the call Wen Jin made to Bai Yiyi in the morning. Maybe, they were more than just friends.
“Ah Jin is coming over. Why don’t you ask him?” Mo Xiuchen’s lips curled up, his eyes sweeping over Wen Jin coming towards them and he said casually.
“Ask what?”
Wen Jin hadn’t heard Gu Kai’s words, only Mo Xiuchen’s, prompting Gu Kai to ask him. Raising his eyebrows, he looked at Gu Kai with a questioning gaze.
Gu Kai turned his head and glanced once again towards the pool. He couldn’t see the expressions of Bai Yiyi and Wen Ran, only seeing Qing Feng’s radiant smile, seeming to be having a great conversation with Bai Yiyi.
He actually didn’t know whether Qing Feng was chatting with Bai Yiyi or not, but he was convinced that Qing Feng was having a good ti talking to Bai Yiyi.
“I’ve heard that you and Bai Yiyi are pretty close?”
Gu Kai turned his head and looked at Wen Jin.
Wen Jin was caught off guard by his question, a hint of confusion flashing across his handso face as he turned to look at Mo Xiuchen.
“I just said that you take good care of Bai Yiyi, and Ah Kai feels that it’s Bai Yiyi who has ulterior motives towards you. He wants to remind you to stay away from Bai Yiyi.”
Mo Xiuchen said with a nonchalant deanor.
Wen Jin’s mouth twitched, and he looked at Gu Kai with amusent: “Ah Kai, you look like you’re jealous. Don’t tell you’ve started to like Yiyi after breaking up with Fang Zhiwei.”
“What nonsense are you talking about? How could I possibly like that savage woman. Ah Jin, Bai Yiyi did promise before that she would never marry for Tongtong’s sake. However, if you’re interested in her, I can rescind that condition.”
Gu Kai declared his indifference towards Bai Yiyi generously, to prove he had no intentions towards her.
Wen Jin’s eyes flickered, and he suddenly smiled, “Ah Kai, now that you’ve said this, I’m relieved.”
“You really like that savage woman?” Gu Kai looked at Wen Jin in shock.
Wen Jin smiled without replying, turning his head to gaze towards the edge of the pond. When his eyes fell on a slender figure there, a touch of warmth appeared in his eyes, “Ah Kai, even Ranran has beco good friends with Yiyi. You both have Tongtong, why can’t you be nicer to her?”
“Hmm, on this point, I agree.” Mo Xiuchen nodded, Wen Jin was right.
Gu Kai had a sowhat stiff expression, “It’s her who has an issue with .”
Fang Zhiwei walked towards the pond, coming up to Wen Ran and Bai Yiyi, and asked with a smile, “Yiyi, are you and Tongtong leaving now? If you are, I can give you a ride ho, it’s on my way.”
“Miss Fang, there’s no need to trouble yourself. Qing Feng has already gone to get the car; he’s taking Tongtong and ho.”
After a brief mont of surprise, Bai Yiyi declined graciously.
“Qing Feng is going to drop you off and still co back, let take you and Tongtong, it’s on my way.”
Fang Zhiwei’s smile remained unyielding, her insistence on giving Bai Yiyi a ride clear, and fearing another rejection, she softly added, “I have a favor to ask of you.”
Right then, Wen Ran’s mobile phone rang. She glanced at Fang Zhiwei and Bai Yiyi, lowered her head, and took her phone out to answer the call.
Seeing Fang Zhiwei’s persistence in giving her and Tongtong a lift, and not wanting to co across as arrogant by refusing again, Bai Yiyi nodded and said, “Alright, but wait a mont for to go inside and pick up Tongtong.”
“Ranran, I’m taking Miss Fang’s car ho. There’s no need for Qing Feng to drive us.”
Bai Yiyi inford Wen Ran and started walking towards the living room.
Fang Zhiwei nodded with a smile.
After Wen Ran finished her call, Bai Yiyi had already gone inside. She then dialed Qing Feng’s number to let him know he didn’t need to co with the car anymore.
A few minutes later, Bai Yiyi ca out holding Tongtong, said goodbye to Wen Ran, and got into Fang Zhiwei’s car. “Yiyi, do you want to let Ah Kai know?”
Fang Zhiwei asked gently.
“No need.” Bai Yiyi’s brows furrowed lightly, her tone sowhat distant when ntioning Gu Kai.
With a soft smile, Fang Zhiwei replied, “Just wait, I’ll tell him so he won’t worry.”
