Bai Yiyi embraced Tongtong in her arms.
Suddenly there ca a thudding sound beside her.
Bai Yiyi turned her head in shock, only to see Wei Jingshan kneeling down.
She was looking up with a face that said if Bai Yiyi didn’t plead for her, she wouldn’t get up. Bai Yiyi’s eye color slightly changed, “Miss Wei, what are you doing?”
As she spoke, she took a step back.
“Miss Bai, I know my previous actions have hurt you. You can punish in other ways, even take revenge on , just please don’t drive away.”
Wei Jingshan was tearful with every word, which was heartbreaking.
Bai Yiyi was speechless, she freed one hand to take out her cell phone, but Wei Jingshan quickly snatched it away, “Miss Bai, please don’t tell Doctor Gu. I only ca to you after seeing him go to the ward. Doctor Gu hates to death. Miss Bai, I beg you, I’ll kowtow to you, just don’t send away, I don’t want my life to be ruined like this.”
“Don’t be like this.”
Wei Jingshan wasn’t just saying it for the sake of it.
She really did kowtow.
And she kowtowed loudly, heavily hitting the floor, pleading, “Miss Bai, I beg you, please, my life has just started, I don’t want it to be ruined like this.”

Bai Yiyi frowned as she looked at Wei Jingshan.

Standing up she said, “Miss Bai, can you leave your mobile number, I will call you later. If Doctor Gu cos back and sees , he’ll get angry again.”
She turned to look at the door, seemingly very afraid of Gu Kai.
“You leave your number, I will call you.” Bai Yiyi’s expression softened slightly, and she said in a gentle tone.
A trace of doubt flashed in Wei Jingshan’s eyes, she was about to say sothing when Bai Yiyi added, “Gu Kai should be back soon, you should go first, I will ask him for your number later. No matter the outco, I will let you know.”
“Okay, Miss Bai, thank you. As long as you let stay, I will definitely repay you.”
Wei Jingshan bowed deeply, bit her lip, and turned to leave.
“Mommy.”
Seeing Wei Jingshan leave, Tongtong imdiately looked up, her little hand comforting Bai Yiyi’s cheek. Bai Yiyi felt her heart warm, a gentle smile unintentionally spread across her brows and eyes, and she kissed Tongtong’s hand.
“Tongtong is not afraid.”
“Mommy, bad person.”
Tongtong turned to look in the direction of the door, still feeling uneasy.
Bai Yiyi smiled and put Tongtong back on the chair, diverting the subject, “Tongtong, co and treat mommy, okay?”
“Doctor Tongtong, mommy, patient.” Tongtong’s attention was imdiately diverted. The worry and fear on her face dissipated into a brilliant smile.

Due to a car accident that occurred on a certain road section, several patients with severe injuries were sent to Kangning Hospital, requiring ergency treatnt.
Before entering the operating room, Gu Kai instructed his driver to take Bai Yiyi and Tongtong back ho first.
In the evening, Gu Kai was busy until 11 o’clock, and after getting off work, he drove straight to the suburbs.
Upon arrival at the doorstep, he still called Bai Yiyi to ask her to open the door. The mont he stepped in, he commanded: “I haven’t eaten yet, make sothing to eat, I’m so hungry.”
Bai Yiyi closed the door and followed behind him with a frown of displeasure: “If you haven’t eaten, you should go to a restaurant. What are you doing here?”
Gu Kai strode over to the sofa, threw himself onto it, stretched out his legs, and closed his eyes in exhaustion; he sounded really worn out when he spoke, “Bai Yiyi, I’m both tired and hungry now, I’ve got no energy to argue with you. If you have any complaints, keep them for now, go make so food, and we can talk about them slowly after I’ve filled my stomach.”
Bai Yiyi laughed out of irritation, “I’m not stupid. Why would I scold you when you’re about to die of hunger, and wait till you’re bright-eyed and bushy-tailed to look for abuse.”
Upon hearing this, Gu Kai opened his closed eyes, a smile curling up at his lips, “You do have a tendency to seek abuse.”
“Get lost!”
Bai Yiyi cursed resentfully, glaring at him with her eyes.
Gu Kai feigned a shudder, covering one ear with a hand, the other clutching his stomach, “Bai Yiyi, I’m really about to starve to death. It’s been ten hours since noon.”
“…”
Bai Yiyi rolled her eyes and, though unwilling, she finally turned around to enter the kitchen.
Watching her slender figure, Gu Kai’s lips curled slightly, then he yawned wearily and closed his eyes to rest.
A few minutes later, Bai Yiyi ca out with a bowl of noodles, only to find Gu Kai had actually dozed off on the couch.
Her brow furrowed as she called out discontentedly: “Hey, wake up, it’s ti to eat.”
No response.
Bai Yiyi didn’t bother taking it to the dining table and just placed the noodles on the coffee table; she walked over and shook Gu Kai’s arm, “Gu Kai, wake up, have your noodles first.”
Stirred by her shaking, Gu Kai opened his eyes, sluggishly glanced at her before turning his head to look at the noodles in front of him.
“Just a bowl of plain noodles?”
His handso brows knitted together, his eyes filled with disappointnt.
Bai Yiyi’s face imdiately sank unhappily: “What about just a bowl of plain noodles, do you know, these noodles could save your life.”
“Hmph, as if I should be tearfully grateful. Bai Yiyi, don’t we have any at at ho?” Gu Kai sat up, picked up so noodles with the chopsticks, and then put them down again.
He complained with dissatisfaction: “I’ve been operating for hours without even having dinner, and you’re just serving plain noodles. ‘Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned’—I’ve certainly seen it for myself today.”
“Eat it or not, I’ll just throw it away if you don’t.”
Bai Yiyi glared at him irritably, snatched the chopsticks out of his hand and threw them down, reaching out to take the bowl of noodles.
“Bai Yiyi, what are you doing?”
Gu Kai’s handso face changed, and without a second thought, he grabbed Bai Yiyi’s wrist to stop her from taking his dinner away.
Bai Yiyi struggled to withdraw her hand, saying coldly, “Didn’t you say you don’t like it? I’m going to dump it into the garbage bag and take it outside to feed the stray dogs.”
“Stray dogs?”
Gu Kai scrunched his eyebrow; this woman, twisting her words, was equating him to a dog.
Bai Yiyi raised her eyebrow, her smile insincere, “Yeah, if you don’t eat, I’ll let the stray dogs have it.”
Gu Kai’s expression changed, he pressed his lips together, let go of her hand, picked up the chopsticks she had thrown aside, and took a bite of the noodles before countering, “You’re quite the philanthropist, not only do you feed stray dogs but you also sleep with them.”
