Mo Xiuchen raised his hand and grasped her shoulder, looking at her with burning eyes, “I can see it, it’s written all over your face, you’re very upset.”
As soon as his words fell, his slender index finger lifted her chin, forcing her to look into his eyes. Wen Ran pressed her lips tightly together and retorted in a muffled voice, “I’m really not.”
“Ranran, are you worried that Cheng Jia will complain about you, saying that you provoked her and caused her to faint, or perhaps she’s pretending to have a headache after fainting earlier? Or do you think I would bla you for upsetting her to the point of fainting?”
Mo Xiuchen saw her stubbornly refusing to admit that she’s upset while biting her lip, her face expressing unhappiness. His heart seed to be grasped by an invisible hand, causing a slight sting.
Having her thoughts revealed, Wen Ran rely pursed her lips and stayed silent.
Since he had recognized her concerns, she wanted to hear what he would say.
Mo Xiuchen’s response was beyond Wen Ran’s expectation. When she heard him saying that “Cheng Jia was not truly faint due to her provocation, but was pretending,” her eyes widened in surprise.
“Is that really the truth?”
Wen Ran looked at Mo Xiuchen. She had suspected that Cheng Jia might be pretending, but since she was a patient, she couldn’t be sure.
Mo Xiuchen nodded, softening his tone, “It’s Ah Kai who told , saying that Cheng Jia was faking her faint.”
While saying this, his voice slightly paused. His gaze deepened while looking at Wen Ran. He earnestly said, “Even if you’ve upset her to the point of fainting, I wouldn’t bla you.”
Wen Ran looked at Mo Xiuchen in disbelief. Although he’d told her to protect their marriage and not yield to other won, Cheng Jia had ultimately saved him multiple tis.
