Chapter 1315: 1314 Striking Contrast

“An Lin!”

Qin Mu’s tone deepened slightly.

An Lin’s attitude made him sowhat angry. They were already married, husband and wife.

In his view, An Lin’s issues were his issues as well.

However, An Lin didn’t see it that way; she minded that his treatnt of her was out of obligation, not affection. In such a marital relationship, she avoided bothering him whenever possible.

“Really, it’s not necessary, I am just letting you know that I will go ho for a few days. You help Wen Jin handle the pharmaceutical factory’s issues. As long as the investigation isn’t clear, Ranran will continue worrying; she seed in a very bad mood today.”

An Lin’s voice was calm and gentle, seemingly unaware of Qin Mu’s anger, and without giving him a chance to speak, she quickly added, “I’ll call you after I get ho,” and then hung up.

“…”

Qin Mu frowned, with Bo Yi’s lips pursed slightly.

“What’s wrong, need to go to the airport?”

From the passenger seat, Lu Zhiyan looked at Qin Mu with concern. He had overheard most of the conversation.

Qin Mu hesitated for a mont, then lightly said, “No need.”

Faced with the choice between accompanying An Lin ho and staying in G City to help Wen Jin, he chose the latter, thinking to himself that he would decide whether to go back after An Lin returned ho and he assessed the situation.

Suburb

Bai Yiyi was unaware that Gu Kai would co to her ho after visiting Fang Zhiwei.

She didn’t know where the anger ca from, but her mood was terrible. Upon reaching ho, she dumped the stir-fried pig liver made for Gu Kai and ate her al alone, throwing the leftovers into the garbage bin.

Tongtong woke up, drank so formula, and fell asleep again.

After bathing, Bai Yiyi was preparing to sleep when Gu Kai’s call ca through.

Leaning against the headboard, she glanced at her phone, turned off the ringtone, and threw it back on the small table.

Removing the hair drying cap from her head, she touched her hair, then flatly lay down on the bed and covered herself with a blanket to sleep.

The mont she lay down, footsteps were heard in the hallway outside her door, and the sound burrowed into her ears, causing Bai Yiyi’s brows to furrow.

The footsteps stopped outside her door for a few seconds, followed by the sound of the door knob turning.

Her heart trembled.

Bai Yiyi closed her eyes and pretended to be asleep.

The room’s lights were still on as Gu Kai pushed the door open and saw Bai Yiyi lying on the large bed. His eyes narrowed, his gaze sweeping over the phone on the small bedside table. Just as he was about to step in, his phone in his pocket rang.

Gu Kai hesitated for a mont, then closed the door and left.

Bai Yiyi, with her eyes closed, perked up her ears to listen to the noises outside. She heard Gu Kai say, “Okay, I’m coming now.”

Then his footsteps faded away.

The next day, G City was covered with news about deaths caused by Wen’s Pharmaceutical Factory’s products.

Wen Jin, despite going to bed late, got up early.

When he saw the newspaper, his handso face suddenly changed color, this was not what was agreed upon yesterday.

Yesterday, Gu Yan rushed to the hospital, stabilized two other patients, and by the afternoon, those two patients had already woken up.

The reporters were following the story, and Gu Yan explained to them again that it was not a problem with Wen’s pharmaceutical products, claiming their products did not contain that ingredient.

Originally, it was thought that today’s coverage would be sowhat fairer.

But now, it was completely the opposite, especially that part: “Director Gu of Kangning Hospital, while stabilizing the condition of two patients, told everyone that this matter was unrelated to Wen’s Pharmaceutical Factory, seemingly deflecting the bla onto People’s Hospital…”

Reporters always use sharp words and have wild imaginations, a slight phrase from them can lead to misunderstandings.

Today’s article, though not particularly direct in words, the implications were clear.

Wen Jin, angered, crumpled up the newspaper and took out his phone to make a call.

“Ah Jin, did you see the report too?” As soon as the call connected, it was picked up, and Gu Kai’s voice ca through, Wen Jin cald his emotions, “Yes, I saw it, Ah Kai, we can’t let everyone think that you and Uncle Gu are really trying to exonerate Wen’s Pharmaceutical Factory, and even using it as an opportunity to suppress People’s Hospital…”

“This shows that soone behind the scenes is panicking,” Gu Kai chuckled coldly on the phone, “Ah Jin, don’t be angry, look online, the discussions have already started.”

“Online, what discussions?” Wen Jin asked, puzzled.

“About the People’s Hospital, videos regarding surgeries, before and after, many clips are uploaded online, including incidents of their doctors accepting bribes, also being exposed. What’s in the newspaper is nothing unusual.”

“How could that be?” Wen Jin asked, stunned.

“Ha, that’s Mo Xiuchen’s nasty trick, it’s not my doing. Mo Xiuchen didn’t tell you because he thought you were too busy.”

This incident directly involved Wen’s and People’s Hospital. Mo Xiuchen did not want to drag Wen Jin into this kind of situation.

“Does it an that what’s in the newspaper is useless now?”

“Not that it’s useless, it has just ford a stark contrast, you’ll see once you check the videos and comnts online. I assure you, today the special investigation team will not go to your pharmaceutical factory, they’ll definitely be busy at the hospital all day,” Gu Kai seed sowhat pleased with the disaster.

This matter, it seems, was not done by Li En alone, but indeed involved so people behind the scenes.

There’s an invisible hand behind the scenes pushing the waves, it just wasn’t expected that they would play such a card, turning the speculative and imaginative reports into this state.

While Gu Kai was talking on the phone with Wen Jin, his father Gu Yan was also in the study, talking with higher leadership. The situation was getting bigger and it was impossible to suppress it now.

After two days of investigation, the special investigation team had not found a single clue. Lu Zhiyan was inscrutable and did not reveal any progress. The People’s Hospital on the other hand, was helpless. In the end, it was Kangning Hospital, which they were not initially involved with, that discovered the cause.

Director Gu stepped in to stabilize the condition of two patients.

“Old Gu, you need to go to People’s Hospital quickly, the relatives of the patients have blocked the hospital, insisting on transferring to Kangning Hospital.”

Gu Yan spoke nonchalantly, “Is it good to transfer to Kangning Hospital? Today’s report also says I was clearing Wen’s na, deflecting the bla onto…”

“At this point, Old Gu you can’t be indifferent. Don’t take the nonsense from those reporters to heart, the most important thing now, is to resolve the issue. If the relatives and the hospital staff start fighting, it would be troubleso.”

“Alright then, I’ll head over soon. But, I have to restate, what I said yesterday was true, none of it ant to clear Wen’s na.”

“I know, I know, do I not understand you? Don’t keep talking about that, just hurry over, I’ll follow shortly after.”

With that, the other party didn’t leave any chance for Gu Yan to object, and hung up the phone.

Gu Kai looked at the disconnected call log, pondered for a mont, got up, and walked out of the study.
