Chapter 1333: 1332 jumping off a building
Gu Kai was taken aback.
Subconsciously squinting his eyes, he scrutinized Zhang Minghui with sharp eyes, then turned to Jing Xiaocha with a questioning look.
Jing Xiaocha’s eyes flickered before she answered stiffly, “Little Hui really didn’t go to school. His parents said anything before first grade is a waste of money. They’ll send him directly to first grade when he turns six.”
Gu Kai looked at Jing Xiaocha in surprise.
He couldn’t believe that parents like Zhang Jinlei and his wife still existed today, not sending their child to kindergarten and directly to first grade at six years old. Did they think their child was so kind of prodigy?
“How old is he?”
“He turned five three months ago.” Before Jing Xiaocha finished speaking, Zhang Minghui took the opportunity to run towards the hospital’s exterior while they were talking.

Suddenly, there was a loud noise from outside, like the sound of sothing heavy hitting the ground. Then, soone exclaid, “Soone jumped off the building!”
Upon hearing this, Gu Kai’s expression changed, and he dropped Zhang Minghui and ran outside.
Although Minghui was small, he was obviously eager to join the excitent like his parents. Upon hearing that soone jumped off the building, he quickly got up after being thrown by Gu Kai and sat down on the ground, then he pulled Jing Xiaocha, “Let’s hurry and see who jumped.”
Jing Xiaocha was in a daze.
For so reason, her heart clenched when she heard that sound.
Minghui’s voice brought back her sanity. A flash of white crossed her mind, and her complexion changed as she pulled him and ran outside the hospital.

After one call with Gu Kai, Wen Jin made another call.
In his office, Qian Songnan was looking anxiously at the electronic clock on the wall. As soon as his cell phone rang, he imdiately took it out and answered the call.
After Wen Jin returned to the office, Qian Songnan had just finished the call, joyfully informing him, “President Wen, the dicinal materials will arrive soon. Let’s go downstairs to wait, and we can check the quantity directly later. Those are precious materials, and you’ll feel more assured if you personally oversee them.”

While going downstairs, Qian Songnan kept praising the dicinal materials he had brought, raving about their quality.
They reached downstairs just as the dicinal materials arrived. Wen Jin and Qian Songnan went to the warehouse together to count the inventory. Qian Songnan did have a point—the materials were indeed of high quality.
“President Wen, could you pay in cash?” Qian Songnan asked with a broad smile as he looked at Wen Jin.
Wen Jin was looking at a list in his hand. When he heard Qian’s request, he turned his head and looked at him calmly, “No problem. These herbs are all very expensive, I really need to check them one by one personally, otherwise I won’t feel at ease. General Qian, please wait for a mont, as soon as I finish checking, I’ll have the accountant send the money over.”
Hearing what he said, Qian Songnan felt delighted and repeatedly said, “President Wen is really straightforward.”
However, no sooner had his words fallen than several police officers entered through the door, with an authoritative and somber voice coming through, “Who is Qian Songnan!”

Wen Jin’s cellphone in his pocket suddenly vibrated, accompanied by an urgent ringtone, he pulled out his phone and lightly dropped a sentence, “I don’t know either, has General Qian offended soone? I need to take this call first.” Then he stepped aside and answered the phone.
“Hello!”
“Ah Jin, Jing Xiaocha’s mother has committed suicide by jumping off a building.”
“Jing Xiaocha’s mother jumped from a building?” Wen Jin repeated Gu Kai’s words in shock.
“Yes, just a few minutes ago, her emotional state was very bad, and she is kneeling alone at the spot where her mother fell, refusing to get up.”

Qian Songnan was taken away by the police, Wen Jin made a phone call and after giving a few instructions to Bai Yiyi, he drove to the hospital.
When he arrived at the hospital, Jing Xiaocha was still kneeling alone in the rain outside the hospital.
The rain had started just ten minutes earlier, during this late autumn season, it ca with the wind, bringing a sudden drop in temperature.
Jing Xiaocha’s coat was soaked through, and her hair was drenched as well.
She knelt there, staring blankly ahead, even though her mother’s body had already been taken to the morgue, she had a feeling as if her mother was still in front of her.
Trickling down her cheeks, it was hard to tell if it was rain or tears.
Because of the rain, the onlookers had all dispersed, leaving only her kneeling there. Ah Kai had the security guard offer her an umbrella, but she refused and the guard had also left.
Wen Jin, seeing this scene, couldn’t help but frown.
His gaze grew solemn as he quickly walked over and reached out to grab Jing Xiaocha’s arm, pulling her up from the ground.
“Let go of .” Jing Xiaocha struggled irritably. When she looked up and saw that the person who ca was Wen Jin, she was initially taken aback, then she lowered her head, pursed her lips tightly, trying hard to control her grief.
“Co on, let’s go inside the hospital. You’ll catch a cold if you keep getting soaked in the rain, and that’s not going to bring your mother back to life.”
“I am the one who killed her,” Jing Xiaocha’s choking voice carried a mix of three parts stubbornness, two parts sadness, and a tenacious firmness despite the grief and without regret.
Wen Jin’s forehead creased as he turned his head, his gaze sharply fixed on Jing Xiaocha who was stubbornly pursing her lips. He fell silent for a mont, “Let’s talk inside the hospital.”
As his voice fell, he firmly pulled Jing Xiaocha into the hospital and all the way to Gu Kai’s office.
“Take off your outerwear. Ah Kai, get a dry towel.”
Wen Jin let go of Jing Xiaocha’s hand and said to Gu Kai in the office.
Gu Kai replied with an okay, fetched a dry towel and handed it to Jing Xiaocha, who then took off her outer jacket, left wearing only a thin sweater which was also wet at the collar because of the rain.
