By that, it was implied that he wasn’t yet aware of Qian Songnan’s situation because he had rushed to the hospital.

When Gu Kai entered the office, Bai Yiyi was sorting through a docunt. She lifted her head to glance at him, then lowered it again and continued her work, “Just wait for for two minutes.”
“Qian Songnan got arrested?”
Gu Kai strolled toward Bai Yiyi with his long legs.

“Don’t buy other gifts either.” Bai Yiyi finished sorting the docunts and saw Gu Kai still standing at the desk. Across the desk, he watched her with focused eyes.
Heat rose to her face, and her voice took on an unnatural tinge.
“Why?”
Gu Kai asked with incomprehension, “Ranran said that since I’m dating you, I should buy you gifts. If you are worried about wasting money, rest assured, it’s just so flowers, I won’t go bankrupt from that.”
“So, it’s because Ranran told you to buy them?” Bai Yiyi suddenly laughed, her smiling appearance was very attractive, especially her clear and bright eyes, which seed to have fallen into fine gold, dazzling and splendid.
Gu Kai, upon seeing her laugh, coughed unnaturally and frowned, “You’re not allowed to laugh like that, as if I’m so dumb. I’m just naive, having never chased a girl before, I don’t understand these things.”

A look of surprise flashed in Gu Kai’s eyes as a smile tugged at his lips.
This little woman was really not on the sa wavelength as him at all. What he ant was for her not to doubt their future and to have confidence in him.
Instead, she asked him not to kiss her in the office.
“Fine, I won’t kiss you in your office in the future.”
Gu Kai enunciated each word clearly, his lips’ smile and the amusent in his eyes both hinting at a deeper aning.
No kissing in the office, it seed that every other place was fair ga.
With that thought, his smile deepened, he raised his hand and his index finger traced his own lips, “Do you want to kiss back?”
