Chapter 1451: 1450 Proposal
The next morning
Bai Yiyi was woken up by the sound of her phone ringing.
Seeing the caller ID, her delicate brows furrowed in an instant. She pouted at the phone screen in displeasure before pressing the answer button, “Hello.”
“Still got morning grumpiness, huh?”
On the other end, Gu Kai’s deep, cheerful voice ca through with a hint of laughter, obviously unlike her, not upset at being woken up.
Bai Yiyi raised a hand to cover her yawning mouth, “It’s too early.”
“Yiyi, it’s not early anymore, look at your phone, it’s already six-thirty, get up and have breakfast, then co pick up.”
Gu Kai was excited.
Although Bai Yiyi had acted as his driver when he injured his hand before, it was different then.
Now, as a couple, whether he served her or enjoyed her service, he felt elated, like a young boy experiencing the first flush of love.
“Have the chauffeur take you to work, it’s out of my way to go to your house, or have the chauffeur drive your car back.”

She hung up the phone and made a face at the call log on her phone screen, “Not even married yet, and he wants to act like an emperor.”
As Bai Yiyi sat with Tongtong and her mother, Bai Yuqin, at the breakfast table, Gu Kai appeared in the living room, panting.
Seeing him drenched in sweat, Bai Yiyi was taken aback.
Her gaze swept over his athletic attire, recalling her joke on the phone that morning, which was just a joke.
She gave a dry laugh and awkwardly asked, “Did you actually run here?”
Gu Kai caught his breath a bit, a proud smile tugging at his lips as he looked at Bai Yiyi’s awkward expression with burning eyes, “Didn’t you say if I ran from ho, you’d agree to marry ?”
“You misunderstood .”
Bai Yiyi reflexively retorted without much thought.
Beside her, Bai Yuqin was surprised yet delighted, “Yiyi, are you and Ah Kai getting married? There’s no ti like the present, today’s a good day.”
“Daddy, what does getting married an?”
Tongtong’s childish voice piped up, her big black eyes darting between Gu Kai and Bai Yiyi. Bai Yiyi shot Gu Kai a resentful glance before turning to the two at the table, “Mom, don’t jump to conclusions, we’re not getting married.”
“Tongtong, eat your breakfast, don’t say things randomly.”
“How is Tongtong saying things randomly?”
Gu Kai walked over, his handso face slightly flushed from running, yet he didn’t seem tired, his eyes shining brightly and full of vigor.
He strode into the dining room and politely greeted, “Aunt Bai.”
Then he crouched in front of Tongtong, kissed her small face, and with a smile, explained, “Tongtong, getting married ans your mommy and I will always be with you. How does that sound?”
“Great, hurry up and get married, Mommy, go get married soon.”
Upon hearing that mommy and daddy would always be with her, Tongtong’s eyes imdiately lit up, her smile beaming, clapping her little hands in excitent.
Bai Yiyi frowned slightly, “Did you really run here?”
“Doubting , Yiyi, I knew you wouldn’t believe it.” Gu Kai finished speaking, took out his phone, and dialed, “Uncle Liu, co in.”
“Did you ask Uncle Liu to give you a ride?” Bai Yiyi’s face instantly showed disdain.
Gu Kai snorted, ignoring her, and said to Bai Yuqin, “Aunt Bai, I’d like to marry Yiyi soon, you wouldn’t oppose, would you?”
“Of course not.”
Bai Yuqin shook her head and waved her hands, looking as if she couldn’t wait to marry off Bai Yiyi.
Bai Yiyi’s mouth twitched, is this really her biological mother?
This is more casual than a stepmother marrying off her daughter.
Hearing this, Gu Kai’s smile deepened, “Thank you, Aunt Bai.”
“Today is the eighth, a good day. Ah Kai, after breakfast, you should go register for marriage.” Bai Yuqin couldn’t wait to marry off her daughter and looked as though she feared Gu Kai might change his mind at any mont.
Bai Yiyi couldn’t bear it any longer, “Mom, am I your biological daughter? Haven’t you ever married off a daughter, don’t you know you should ask for more conditions or test whether he can treat well for a lifeti? You act like you’re afraid he won’t want .”
“Of course, I’m afraid, you’ve lived for over twenty years, and you’ve never t a man as good as Ah Kai, and he’s Tongtong’s dad too. Didn’t you see how much Tongtong wants you to get married soon? If Ah Kai doesn’t want you, I’m truly afraid you’ll never get married.”
Bai Yuqin’s words made Gu Kai burst into laughter, “Yiyi, Aunt Bai is right if I were you, I’d hurry to get the household registration book now.”
As he finished speaking, Uncle Liu walked in from the foyer, and along with him, the air was filled with the scent of flowers, “Young Master, here are the flowers you requested.”
Gu Kai walked over, took the flowers from Uncle Liu, “Leave the video recording on the coffee table, Uncle Liu, you can go back now.”
“Alright.”
Uncle Liu put down the stuff and left.
“Why did you buy so many flowers…”
Bai Yiyi’s heart surged with indescribable emotions, joyful, yet touched…
Gu Kai approached her, towering over her, he lowered his eyes to look at her gently for a mont, in front of his tall fra, Bai Yiyi appeared petite and delicate, evoking a sense of endearnt.
He captured her gaze, absorbing the changing emotions in her eyes, his smile growing softer, his deep voice emanating from his lips, “Yiyi, these are 99 roses for you, hoping for eternal love between us.”
The rich fragrance of the flowers filled the air, inhaling deeply into her lungs.
Moved, Bai Yiyi’s eyes glistened, not for the roses but for his sincerity. Her request for him to run was rely because he disturbed her sweet dream, leaving her upset.
Yet, he took it seriously.
Not only did he run but also brought flowers to propose.
Gu Kai placed the roses in her arms, chuckling softly. Then, he took a delicate box from his pocket and gently opened it to reveal a dazzling diamond ring.
Bai Yiyi’s eyes widened in astonishnt.
If flowers can be bought anyti, running to her was his sincerity, but the diamond ring? Was it also just bought?
Reading the astonishnt and doubt in her eyes, Gu Kai gently explained, “This ring was custom-made, only received after the Spring Festival.”
Pausing for a mont, sothing replaced the laughter in his eyes, his handso features growing solemn, “Yiyi, I originally thought it would be a long ti before I could put this ring on your finger.”
