Chapter 1539: 1538 This is what you called an apology
“I’ll go with you to see her.”
After a brief mont of contemplation, Qin Mu said calmly.
An Lin frowned, looking at Qin Mu’s deep, dark eyes, suspicion rising in her heart: “Do you suspect she knows where Yao Dewei is hiding?”
Qin Mu didn’t deny it, instead, he analyzed calmly: “Everyone who knows Feng Wanfeng knows how much she loves Yao Dewei. If it were easy for her to have nothing to do with him, Yao Dewei wouldn’t have given her so much alimony and two mansions worth tens of millions.”
“So Tang Yang also suspects her?”
“Yes.” Qin Mu smiled slightly, stood up, and said: “Let’s go, invite Feng Wanfeng for a al. If she dares to co to City C to find you, there’s nothing to be afraid of.”
“I’m not afraid of her; I just don’t want to see her.”
An Lin showed a trace of displeasure on her face.
“I’ll be with you.” Qin Mu pulled An Lin up from the sofa, gazing at her unhappy little face, he promised seriously: “An Lin, what happened that night won’t happen again.”
An Lin’s eyes flickered.
She bit her lip, remaining silent.
Qin Mu’s hand slid down, enveloping hers in his palm, his lips curved slightly as he spoke gently: “Let’s go and see how sincere she is.”
“Since you want to go, I’ll reluctantly accompany you.” An Lin agreed very reluctantly.
Qin Mu held her hand as they walked to the door. As he reached out to open it, An Lin struggled, withdrawing her hand.
Seeing Qin Mu looking puzzled, she frowned and urged to hide her emotions, “Hurry up and walk.”
They had just reached the café’s entrance when they ran into Feng Wanfeng and Jinchen, who were coming out of the café. Little Jinchen, upon seeing An Lin, imdiately exclaid excitedly, “Auntie!”
Despite hating Yao Dewei for kidnapping her, An Lin couldn’t remain indifferent when faced with the pure and adorable Jinchen. A natural smile appeared on her face as she bent down to hug Jinchen, who ran into her arms.
Ten minutes later, Qin Mu and An Lin, along with Feng Wanfeng and her son, were seated in a private room of an elegantly-decorated Chinese fusion restaurant.
Jinchen insisted on sitting next to An Lin.
Whether taught by Feng Wanfeng or not, he held onto An Lin’s hand, saying sadly, “Auntie, I know everything. My bad dad kidnapped you and wanted to hurt you. Does your hand still hurt? Let blow on it for you.”
An Lin looked up at Feng Wanfeng, whose face was full of apology, then looked back down and smiled warmly at Jinchen, “Thank you, Jinchen, Auntie doesn’t hurt anymore.”
“Auntie, Grandma told my dad is a bad person. He did many bad things, and she told not to learn from him.”
Jinchen obviously really liked An Lin.
Even though An Lin wasn’t often at ho and didn’t see him much.
But that’s just how adorable children are; if they like soone, they really like them, no matter how often they et.
Listening to Jinchen’s words, An Lin suddenly felt a pang of heartache.
She patted Jinchen’s head, comforting him, “Jinchen is a good child.”
“Hmm, I won’t learn from my dad. I want to be a stand-up man like Grandfather Qin, also like Uncle Qin…”
Jinchen wasn’t even four years old yet, but the little guy already had his own idols.
Since he’d grown accustod to calling Qin Mu Uncle Qin, even after Qin Mu married An Lin, Jinchen couldn’t change his ways.
But no one minded that.
After the food arrived, An Lin carefully took care of Jinchen, but Jinchen, acting like a real man, said, “Auntie, you eat, don’t worry about . I can do things myself.”
Then he turned his head to Feng Wanfeng, saying, “Mom, didn’t you have sothing to say to Auntie? Admitting one’s mistakes and correcting them makes a good child. Hurry and apologize to Auntie.”
Feng Wanfeng already felt indebted to An Lin and now turned red-faced in embarrassnt at her son’s words.
“An Lin, I’m sorry.”
With her son pushing, Feng Wanfeng had no choice but to do so.
She stood up and apologized very formally to An Lin.
“An Lin, I deceived you that night to go to my house because Yao Dewei threatened with Jinchen. He said if I didn’t do as he said, he’d never let see Jinchen again.”
Feng Wanfeng’s eyes reddened as she spoke.
In the past, she thought Yao Dewei was her whole world, but now, as a mother, Jinchen’s place in her heart surpassed Yao Dewei.
She couldn’t live without Jinchen.
“Weren’t you always obedient to Yao Dewei’s words?” An Lin’s tone carried sarcasm. She just never expected that soone as close to her as a sister would betray her.
“Mom, tell Auntie, didn’t my bad dad call you, and what did he say to you?”
Jinchen was just a child; he might not know that if his bad dad were caught, it would result in the death penalty.
In his simple understanding, those who do wrong should be punished…
Feng Wanfeng’s face paled, shock flashing in her eyes as she looked at Jinchen.
Jinchen pouted, “I heard you on the phone with dad that night, saying you’d co to find Auntie. Mom, did you still want to hurt Auntie?”
“Jinchen, I didn’t.”
Feng Wanfeng defended herself without thinking, and An Lin exchanged looks with Qin Mu.
An Lin suddenly smirked coldly, “Cousin, this is your apology? You really are a good cousin.”
“An Lin, listen to , it’s really not like that.” Feng Wanfeng struggled to explain, her earlier shock evident to Qin Mu and An Lin.
This proved she was unaware that her conversation with Yao Dewei had been overheard by Jinchen.
“Then tell how you plan to sell out this ti?” An Lin looked at Feng Wanfeng with anger.
Feng Wanfeng’s face went from white to green, then from green back to white, urgently explaining, “An Lin, Yao Dewei did call. He said it was Qin Mu and Uncle Qin who killed his father, forcing him and his mother to live on the run. He wants revenge on the Qin Family…”
The more she talked, the darker Qin Mu’s face beca, “Where is he now?”
Finally, he asked the crucial question.
Feng Wanfeng shook her head, “I don’t know either, only that he’s in Country M. He didn’t tell the specific location.”
“Cousin, let say sothing harsh, don’t be upset.”
An Lin said coldly, “You’re just a pawn to Yao Dewei; from start to finish, he never truly cared for you. Back then, why didn’t he stay with the woman he loved and instead married you? It was because of Uncle.”
Pain flashed through Feng Wanfeng’s eyes, the last trace of color draining from her face.
Her face was as white as paper.
An Lin’s words hit directly at her heart, “He divorced you, gave you a huge fortune, not because he loved you, but to use you to transfer his ill-gotten gains, because he knew you’d never betray him.”
“His relationship with that woman wasn’t fake; they were truly together. They even have a son older than Jinchen by a few months. Now that he’s called you to say he wants revenge on the Qin Family, is he having you deceive again?”
“An Lin, stop it.”
Feng Wanfeng suddenly began to cry sorrowfully, “I won’t be fooled by him again.”
