Chapter 1541: 1540 Friendship ended
In the morning, An Lin woke up to find the person beside her already out of bed.
The master bedroom, with its tightly drawn curtains, was dimly lit and gentle, and the air still faintly held the ambiguous scent of last night’s intimacy.
It was clearly not the first ti she had been with Qin Mu.
Yet when An Lin thought of the scenes from last night, her face flushed, and her heart raced.
Suddenly, she rembered what he said last ti, that he loved being intimate with her, loved her body. She lowered her head, looking at her body under the covers.
Last night, Qin Mu wasn’t rough, but he still left several marks on her.
The most obvious one was on her chest.
Her face grew hotter and hotter, and she shook her head, forbidding herself from recalling that man’s passionate yet gentle tenderness from last night.
Stepping out of the bedroom, she was greeted by a delicious aroma. She followed the scent to the kitchen, where Qin Mu’s tall, slender figure stood at the colored glaze counter. He was expertly flipping pancakes in the pan with a spatula in his right hand.
“Did the sll wake you?”
Hearing her footsteps, Qin Mu turned around and asked with a warm smile.
An Lin stared at the pancakes in the pan. “Why are you making pancakes today?”
“Just to change the taste. I’m afraid you’ll get tired of eating the sa breakfast every day.” Qin Mu’s gaze swept over her neck, where a hickey was faintly visible by her collar.
The smile on his lips deepened, “Take the utensils out; breakfast is almost ready.”
“I’ll serve the porridge.”
An Lin raised an eyebrow, realizing she was indeed hungry.
“Careful it’s hot. Let serve it. The kitchen is your nesis, just bring out the utensils.” Qin Mu knew An Lin better than anyone. He knew that being a kitchen klutz, she was always prone to causing accidents there.
He not only forbade her from learning to cook, but he didn’t expect her to do anything else in the kitchen either.
“You make sound so useless. I don’t believe you’ll never ask to help, or that you won’t get tired of cooking for the rest of your life.”
An Lin pouted with dissatisfaction, complaining.
Qin Mu chuckled, his deep and gentle voice carrying a hint of teasing, “Compared to a kitchen fire or food poisoning, I’d rather do it myself.”
“That was ages ago, don’t look down on like that. How about this, I’ll start learning to cook tomorrow.”
An Lin hesitated for a mont, initially wanting to say today, but after thinking for a mont, she settled on tomorrow.
Qin Mu watched her, a bit fearful yet defiantly raising her chin in pride, looking as if she was ready to give it her all, and couldn’t help but laugh out loud.
“An Lin, I’m not trying to discourage you, but please, spare the kitchen.”
“When An Lin says sothing, she ans it.”
An Lin hated being underestimated, especially when it ca to cooking skills.
As a woman, she didn’t have to cook, but she couldn’t be so inept as to not know how to cook.
She wanted to prove to Qin Mu that it wasn’t that she was stupid; she just hadn’t focused her thoughts on this before.
Thinking of this, she silently turned around and carried the utensils out to the dining room.
Behind her, Qin Mu’s clear and joyful laughter echoed through the entire kitchen. An Lin gritted her teeth in frustration.
**
Tang Yang arrived in City C in the afternoon on a four-thirty flight. After Qin Mu picked him up from the airport, he called An Lin, asking her to head to the restaurant with Feng Wanfeng and her son. He and Tang Yang wouldn’t return to the company and would go straight to the restaurant.
Feng Wanfeng didn’t want to go, “An Lin, Jinchen and I are not going.”
“Cousin, Tang Yang isn’t a monster; are you that afraid to see him?” An Lin frowned at Feng Wanfeng.
Feng Wanfeng’s face showed a hint of embarrassnt, “An Lin, you know Tang Yang and I are incompatible; we start arguing after just three sentences.”
“Cousin, Tang Yang ca to City C this ti for you. Even if you don’t see him now, you’ll have to face him sooner or later.”
Hearing this, Feng Wanfeng’s expression changed slightly.
After a mont of silence, she nodded in agreent.
When Qin Mu and Tang Yang arrived at the private room, Feng Wanfeng, An Lin, and little Jinchen were already there.
When his eyes t with Feng Wanfeng’s, Tang Yang’s gaze flickered with several emotions before finally settling into a calm and serene stillness.
To ease the awkward atmosphere, An Lin sought a topic to talk about, “Tang Yang, you’re not going back to A City tomorrow, right?”
“Depends on the circumstances, why?” Tang Yang turned his head, looking at An Lin with a gentle gaze.
An Lin gave a cheeky smile and said, “If you’re not going back to A City tomorrow, co to my place. I’ve decided to cook and extend my hospitality…”
“Uh, An Lin, it’s not that I won’t go, but I just rembered that I have to rush back to A City early tomorrow morning.”
Before An Lin could finish her sentence, Tang Yang cut in, as if she had invited him to the guillotine rather than to dinner.
An Lin’s expression shifted, and she glared at Tang Yang indignantly before turning to look at Feng Wanfeng.
Feng Wanfeng, seeing An Lin looking her way, quickly gave a hearty laugh, “An Lin, my stomach’s always been weak, and Jinchen’s too small. We won’t be your test subjects just yet. Try out Qin Mu first, and once you’re ready for business, we’ll co over.”
An Lin looked at the two of them with frustration, “How is it that you two are so in sync at this mont?”
Tang Yang laughed unreservedly, “An Lin, why not learn flower arranging or yoga, or even spar with a bit so that you can win. As long as you don’t make eat your cooking, anything is fine.”
“Yang, that’s enough!”
Qin Mu tried to suppress his laughter seeing An Lin on the verge of exploding. As her husband, he should stand by her side.
“Ah Mu, honestly, I admire your courage.”
Tang Yang, rembering sothing, laughed even harder, unable to stop.
While laughing, he recalled, “Rember the ti you ate An Lin’s cooking and ended up in the hospital for a week?”
An Lin brandished her chopsticks towards Tang Yang, making a threatening gesture.
But Tang Yang, unfazed, continued, “You’re the biggest victim. If I were you, I’d stay a thousand miles away from An Lin for safety. Yet you willingly offer yourself up, planning to be her guinea pig for life… ouch…”
Tang Yang finally fell silent.
His handso features, which had been laughing brightly a mont ago, suddenly furrowed into a frown, and he stared at Qin Mu with a look of grievance.
“Ah Mu…”
Qin Mu flashed him a warning glance before turning to gently comfort the pouting An Lin beside him, “Don’t listen to this guy’s nonsense. If you really want to learn, I can teach you.”
Stopping montarily, Qin Mu’s gaze swept over Tang Yang and Feng Wanfeng, “Once you’ve learned, don’t cook for them either.”
His words had barely fallen when a young voice on An Lin’s other side piped up, “Auntie, I’ll go to your place to eat. I’m not afraid.”
An Lin turned her gaze, looking at Jinchen’s earnest little face, and her anger dissipated instantly, replaced by a proud smile in her eyes and brows, “Cousin, so Tang, are you not even as brave as Jinchen?”
“Jinchen, your auntie’s cooking isn’t easily digestible. Didn’t you hear Uncle Tang say that Uncle Qin went to the hospital for a week after eating her food?”
“End of friendship!”
