Chapter 1625: Chapter 1624: Don’t Rush to Get Married
Bai Xiaoxiao blinked her eyes and looked at Wen Ran with a grin, “What question?”
Wen Ran frowned, reached out to take the fruit plate from her hand and placed it on the coffee table, saying seriously, “Be serious.”
“Okay, I’ll be serious.”
Bai Xiaoxiao cast her a playful glance, sat up straight, and put her hands on her knees, looking like a well-behaved student.
Wen Ran couldn’t help but laugh, and asked softly, “If Uncle Bai and Aunt Qiao ask you to marry ng Ke before the end of the year, would you agree?”
“Just that?”
Bai Xiaoxiao responded with a question instead of answering.
Feeling both surprised and secretly relieved.
Wen Ran nodded, looked at her intently, “Yeah, co on, answer , would you agree to marry ng Ke before the end of the year?”
Bai Xiaoxiao moved her eyes around, slightly pouting as she pondered.
Wen Ran was staring at her without blinking, showing how much she cared about this question, even though she didn’t ask again.
After half a minute.
Bai Xiaoxiao finally worked out the question just now, seeing Wen Ran watching her, her eyes blossod into a bright smile, “Ranran, don’t be so serious, it makes you seem like you can’t bear for to get married.”
“If I can’t bear to be without you, would you not get married?”
Wen Ran rolled her eyes.
This silly girl, she was worried about her lifelong happiness, yet here she was giggling without a care.
Bai Xiaoxiao lunged over to hug her, “Why don’t you divorce Mo Xiuchen, and the two of us can live together, then I won’t get married for the rest of my life, oh, wait, we’d have Momo, Ziyi, and Xin Xin, those little darlings too.”
“You’re dreaming.”
Wen Ran reached out to push her, but Bai Xiaoxiao held on tight, not letting her push away.
“Xiaoxiao!”
Wen Ran sighed lightly, no longer attempting to push Bai Xiaoxiao away.
Bai Xiaoxiao stopped joking, but her arms around Wen Ran’s waist didn’t let go, and she rested her head against hers.
Hearing Wen Ran call her, she softly replied with an “Mm,” her watery eyes looking at the ceiling, emptying her mind and thinking of nothing.
Wen Ran glanced at her and remained silent.
The living room suddenly beca quiet.
The two of them just leaned quietly against each other, neither speaking a word.
After a long ti, Wen Ran gently nudged Bai Xiaoxiao, seeing her staring at the ceiling in a daze, she spoke softly, “Xiaoxiao, don’t rush into marriage. It’s never too late to marry ng Ke when you truly like him.”
“Okay.”
Bai Xiaoxiao agreed without hesitation.
Wen Ran suddenly laughed!
Bai Xiaoxiao pouted, released her, sat up straight, “Ranran, if only you were my mom, then I wouldn’t be rushed into marriage.”
“If Aunt Qiao hears this, she’ll definitely beat you to death.”
Wen Ran amusingly rolled her eyes at her, “I was serious earlier, if you’re not sure about your feelings for ng Ke, don’t marry him so soon, even if he proposes, don’t agree, got it?”
As she spoke, Wen Ran seriously grabbed Bai Xiaoxiao’s hand.
Bai Xiaoxiao looked down at her hand, feeling an inexplicable warmth in her heart.
She understood Wen Ran’s aning, and a faint smile appeared in her beautiful eyes, “Ranran, I’m not foolish. If I don’t like him, I won’t marry him so soon.”
“Who knows, I’m just afraid you’ll do sothing silly.”
A trace of conflict flashed in Wen Ran’s eyes; no one knows the future.
She was always conflicted, not knowing if supporting Bai Xiaoxiao and ng Ke together was best for her, or if encouraging her and Luo Haofeng…
Before, Wen Ran always encouraged Bai Xiaoxiao and Luo Haofeng to be together because they loved each other.
But each ti, Xiaoxiao ended up getting hurt.
She couldn’t help but question if her support was right or wrong.
Bai Xiaoxiao’s smile faded, and she said softly, “Ranran, don’t worry, I won’t joke about my life, ng Ke shouldn’t force either.”
“That’s good then.”
Wen Ran smiled with relief.
“ng Ke’s parents hope you both get married soon, Aunt Qiao ntioned this to before. Now that you’ve returned ho, has ng Ke invited you to et his parents?”
Bai Xiaoxiao nodded, “He did, I agreed to go to his house for dinner tomorrow. It’s important to maintain proper etiquette.”
“Hmm, going for a al is fine, just don’t sell yourself. Honestly, I still hope for you to be with soone you truly like.”
“Ranran, Luo Haofeng and I, it’s impossible.”
Bai Xiaoxiao didn’t avoid the issue with Luo Haofeng.
“Can you let go?”
Wen Ran looked at Bai Xiaoxiao with concern, hoping she’d forget Luo Haofeng if they were destined not to be together.
Hoping they’d both let go of each other, and if they t again, they could be just friends.
“I’m working on it.” Bai Xiaoxiao lifted a delicate eyebrow, her confident words revealing no hint of sadness.
Wen Ran found that after Bai Xiaoxiao’s nearly three-year grind overseas, she’d grown mature, learned to control her emotions; looking at her now, one would think that what Bai Xiaoxiao said on the phone back then wasn’t true.
She had said, Luo Haofeng would always be her wound.
But now, she confidently said she’s working on letting go of Luo Haofeng.
No matter what, as long as she’s happy, Wen Ran, as her best friend, will unconditionally support her.
They chatted for a bit longer, and from the staircase on the second floor, Mo Xiuchen’s tall and upright silhouette appeared.
Bai Xiaoxiao looked up and saw Mo Xiuchen coming down from the second floor, glanced at the ti, and said with a smile, “Ranran, Mo Xiuchen has lulled my godson to sleep, so I won’t disturb your ti together.”
“Okay, I’ll have Qing Feng take you back.”
Wen Ran didn’t keep her any longer either; Bai Xiaoxiao had snuck out, so going ho too late wouldn’t be good.
**
When Bai Xiaoxiao returned ho, her mom was waiting in her room.
“Mom, why aren’t you asleep yet?”
Bai Xiaoxiao’s eyes carried a hint of surprise as she walked over and took her mother Bai’s arm.
Mother Bai smiled, standing up from the sofa, “I was waiting for you here, seeing you back makes rest easy, now I can go to bed.”
“Mom, I’m not a kid anymore.”
Bai Xiaoxiao teased, escorting Mother Bai to the door.
At the door, Mother Bai rembered sothing, “Xiaoxiao, ng Ke will definitely inform his parents that you’re back in the country, tomorrow you should bring a gift to their house…”
“Mom, I’ve got it all arranged, no need to worry. I’ll go tomorrow, now hurry back to bed.”
Bai Xiaoxiao cut off Mother Bai’s chatter, nudging her out of the door and closing it.
After taking a shower, Bai Xiaoxiao lay down on her bed, checked the ti; it was already eleven o’clock.
Bai Xiaoxiao sighed, placed her phone back on the nightstand, slid down to lie flat, and just as she closed her eyes to sleep, the phone on the table began to vibrate.
Accompanied by a ringtone echoing through the quiet room, Bai Xiaoxiao reached for her phone, and before answering, she opened her eyes.
Seeing the caller ID, Bai Xiaoxiao’s fingers, about to press the answer button, suddenly froze!
