Chapter 1630: Chapter 1629: Are You Upset?
On the way to the ng family, Bai Xiaoxiao hardly spoke, turning her head to look out the car window.
She would only answer briefly when ng Ke tried to find a topic to chat about.
Perhaps sensing sothing amiss, ng Ke glanced at her and softly asked, “Xiaoxiao, are you upset?”
“Upset about what?”
Bai Xiaoxiao turned to et his gaze, her fair face holding a faint expression, seemingly not yet back to reality from her thoughts.
A mont ago, she had been gazing out the window, deep in thought.
ng Ke smiled slightly, “I thought you might be angry about my joke earlier.”
Needing to drive, he couldn’t keep his eyes on Bai Xiaoxiao and sat upright.
“I know you were joking, why would I be upset?”
A soft smile appeared on Bai Xiaoxiao’s face, her eyebrows lightly raised. “However, I have no plan to marry too soon.”
A hint of disappointnt flickered in ng Ke’s eyes.
He didn’t expect Bai Xiaoxiao to frankly state her unwillingness to marry early.
Initially, with her being back, he thought he could prepare and choose a ti to propose.
It now seems he was too eager.
“Don’t worry, I won’t force you to marry imdiately.” ng Ke’s disappointnt was only fleeting, soon replaced by a smile with a gentle and slightly indulgent tone.
“That’s good, if you were to push like my parents, I would have to escape.”
A trace of relief mixed into Bai Xiaoxiao’s smile, her voice lighter than before.
ng Ke’s smile remained unchanged, but inwardly he was secretly thankful he had said he wouldn’t rush her into marriage.
“My parents hope you marry early so that soone can take care of you.”
“Their thinking is wrong; even if I get married, I won’t rely on a man.”
“Xiaoxiao, I do wish you’d rely on more, since I am your boyfriend and hope to spend my life with you.”
ng Ke sighed lightly, maintaining his gentle tone throughout.
Bai Xiaoxiao smiled apologetically, “That’s just my nature, I don’t like to depend on n, but you’re my boyfriend, I haven’t forgotten that.”
“Exactly, if you had forgotten, you wouldn’t be in my car right now.”
ng Ke said with self-deprecation.
Bai Xiaoxiao raised her eyebrow indifferently, “Of course, if you weren’t my boyfriend, why would I waste my precious youth in your car?”

They arrived at the ng family house at eleven o’clock.
Initially, ng Ke’s house wasn’t close to Xiaoxiao’s house, and they went to buy gifts, with ng Ke driving very slowly along the way.
“Xiaoxiao, we’re almost ho.”
After turning a corner, ng Ke pointed to a villa at the front, introducing it to Bai Xiaoxiao.
It was Bai Xiaoxiao’s first ti at ng Ke’s house.
Looking in the direction ng Ke pointed, she noticed a European-style villa not far ahead, with lush green bamboo groves in front.
Beside the bamboo grove was a garden.
A middle-aged woman was facing away from them, watering the flowers.
Upon hearing the sound of the car, she turned around, saw it was ng Ke’s car, and hurriedly ran up with a smile, “Mr. ng, you’re ho!”
“Auntie, please inform my parents that Xiaoxiao is here.”
“Alright, alright.”
The middle-aged woman nodded with a smile, glanced at Bai Xiaoxiao, and then joyfully ran into the villa.
When ng Ke brought Bai Xiaoxiao into the living room, it was very lively.
On the couch were Father ng, Mother ng, ng Ke’s aunt and uncle, and his little cousin.
Apparently, Mother ng had inford her sister early on about ng Ke bringing his girlfriend ho today.
“Cousin, cousin-in-law, you’re finally back. Aunt was about to have call you, or send out to find you.”
Seeing them co in, a young woman being bombarded on the couch quickly jumped up.
She ran over to ng Ke and Bai Xiaoxiao, eagerly grabbing ng Ke’s wrist, staring at Bai Xiaoxiao with curiosity and a little scrutiny.
“Yao Yao, this is Sister Xiaoxiao, don’t call her randomly.”
ng Ke worried Bai Xiaoxiao might not like Li Shi Yao’s nickna, quickly introducing her.
After he spoke, he smiled gently at Bai Xiaoxiao and reached out to hold her hand.
Bai Xiaoxiao’s body stiffened slightly, but in front of ng Ke’s elders, she dismissed the urge to resist and was led to the couch.
Li Shi Yao released ng Ke’s hand when he held Bai Xiaoxiao’s.
“Xiaoxiao, this is my dad, my mom, my aunt, and uncle.” ng Ke pointed to the four on the couch, introducing them to Bai Xiaoxiao.
“Dad, Mom, Aunt, Uncle, this is Xiaoxiao.”
After he introduced them, Bai Xiaoxiao politely greeted each one.
“Hello, Uncle, Aunt, Auntie, Uncle!”
“Xiaoxiao, co, sit down quickly. I’ve only heard ng Ke ntion you, only seen photos. Unexpectedly, you look even prettier in person than in the photos.”
ng Ke’s aunt enthusiastically pulled Bai Xiaoxiao to sit.
Mother ng also wore a broad smile, clearly quite satisfied with Bai Xiaoxiao as her future daughter-in-law.
“Xiaoxiao, we hope you won’t mind us calling you this.” After Mother ng spoke, she asked the aunt nearby to quickly serve more dishes of fruit.
The aunt cleared the fruit from the coffee table and swiftly brought fresh ones.
“Mom, give so space.”
Li Shi Yao’s voice ca and she promptly sat between her mother and Bai Xiaoxiao. “Cousin-in-law, are your clothes the limited edition just released this autumn?”
“Yao Yao.”
Before Bai Xiaoxiao could answer, ng Ke warned her with a stern tone.
Li Shi Yao blinked with a playful smile, “Cousin, isn’t it you who bought this for cousin-in-law? I saw a piece two days ago, cheaper than hers, can you buy it for ?”
Beside them, Mother ng slightly frowned in displeasure, gesturing with her eyes to her sister to control Li Shi Yao.
“Yao Yao, Sister Xiaoxiao is visiting us for the first ti today, you should show so manners.”
Bai Xiaoxiao maintained a graceful and composed smile, not revealing any discontent due to Li Shi Yao’s words. Although she usually acted like a wild girl, her upbringing since childhood, along with spending three years abroad before returning to manage the company, had helped her beco the perfect goddess.
With Li Shi Yao’s contrast, Bai Xiaoxiao appeared even more flawless.
Bai Xiaoxiao casually replied, “I bought it while I was abroad, after closing a big deal. My dad insisted I reward myself, so I simply picked an outfit.”
Upon hearing this, Li Shi Yao’s expression changed to dissatisfaction, “Cousin-in-law, are you implying my cousin shouldn’t buy gifts?”
“Cousin, after you and cousin-in-law get married, she’ll surely control the finances, right?”
Just a mont ago, Li Shi Yao had admired Bai Xiaoxiao. Now, her sentint had shifted to dislike.
ng Ke’s face darkened as he reprimanded, “Yao Yao, don’t be rude. You asked Xiaoxiao first, and she simply answered your question.”
