Capítulo 1670: Chapter 1669: Didn’t Want to Hurt Your Feelings

City B

In the spacious and luxuriously decorated CEO office of the Luo Family, Luo Haofeng finished reading the last docunt, packed his things, and prepared to leave work.

Outside the office, a knock sounded.

He calmly said ‘Co in’, and Secretary Qiao Siyi entered from outside.

“CEO, are we leaving now?”

“Yes, let’s go now.”

Luo Haofeng raised his hand and glanced at the ti on his wrist; tonight’s social event was with people from governnt departnts.

He couldn’t afford to be late.

“By the way, is the new office ready?”

Raising his eyes to glance at Qiao Siyi, Luo Haofeng lowered his head again and pulled open a drawer.

Deep within Qiao Siyi’s eyes flashed a hint of sadness, but she quickly returned to her professional smile, “It’s all set up according to the CEO’s requirents.”

“Good.”

Luo Haofeng responded indifferently.

His gaze fell on the drawer, without looking up.

It’s unclear if sothing in the drawer attracted his attention, or if there was another reason.

Qiao Siyi watched Luo Haofeng bowing his head, staring intently at the drawer, and subconsciously clenched her hand at her side.

“CEO, are you really dating that Miss Tian? Have you really moved on from Miss Bai?”

Qiao Siyi’s voice carried a hint of hesitation, softly echoing in the quiet office.

Luo Haofeng’s handso brows furrowed slightly, his long, slender fingers brushing over a photo that had been treasured in the drawer for several years.

Looking up, his long and narrow eyes reflected an abyss of loneliness.

Qiao Siyi’s heart shook.

This wasn’t the first ti seeing such emotions from Luo Haofeng, like soone lost in an endless desert, unable to find an exit, and in his eyes, there was only limitless desolation…

“CEO.”

Qiao Siyi murmured.

The loneliness in Luo Haofeng’s eyes that made her heart tighten dissipated in an instant like mist.

Only calmness and depth remained.

Sternness seed to be his most frequent expression in the past two years.

Luo Haofeng’s lips curled into a gentle arc, his voice low and slightly hoarse as it escaped his thin lips, “She’s very happy now.”

Qiao Siyi’s face changed slightly.

She knew the woman the CEO loved had returned to the country.

She also knew that the CEO’s trips to G City were all for that woman.

However, now the CEO said she was happy.

With a tone that was bleak yet resigned.

Speaking of the woman he loved being happy, it was another man who gave her happiness.

Qiao Siyi’s heart suddenly ached.

She didn’t know with what feelings the CEO said that, nor what kind of self-control it took for him to watch the woman he deeply loved be happy in another man’s arms…

“CEO, are you really going to give up on Miss Bai?”

Since Luo Haofeng returned to City B and joined the Luo Family, Qiao Siyi had been by his side.

Not only was she his secretary, accompanying him for three years, but she also witnessed him drowning in alcohol.

Countless tis chanting Bai Xiaoxiao’s na.

Even when he flew over the Pacific Ocean to D Country to visit Bai Xiaoxiao, she knew everything.

Luo Haofeng’s handso face turned slightly pale.

In the late autumn season, although it’s only half-past five, it had been rainy the past few days, and the office lights were already on.

The dazzling chandelier light illuminated his stern and slightly pale face; if Qiao Siyi hadn’t asked, he would have believed he wasn’t in pain.

Even though he and Xiaoxiao weren’t together, every day the photos accompanied him.

Whenever he saw the photos, his heart felt warm and happy.

However, Qiao Siyi’s words jolted him awake from his imagined happiness, and when he looked down, he realized the drawer had unknowingly been closed by him.

What he saw was the carpet underfoot.

Not the smile in the drawer that ward his heart.

For a mont, his heart felt empty.

His slender fingers tightly gripped the solid wood drawer, his thin lips pressed together as if making a difficult decision.

To give up?

Or not give up.

The phone rang suddenly.

Luo Haofeng looked up and glanced at Qiao Siyi, who was still standing there with eyes filled with concern for him, and said calmly, “Let’s go to the hotel in ten minutes.”

Qiao Siyi softly replied, “Okay, CEO,” and without saying anything more, turned and left the office.

Luo Haofeng gathered his emotions, and his long finger pressed the answer button, “Hello, Mo Xiuchen.”

“Finished work?”

On the phone, Mo Xiuchen’s voice ca, low and gentle.

Luo Haofeng smiled, “I’m about to leave work. You wouldn’t be minding even when I get off work, would you?”

“Never, I just have sothing to tell you.”

Mo Xiuchen laughed on the other end of the phone and spoke nonchalantly.

Luo Haofeng also smiled, “What is it?”

“Our Haochen is planning to cooperate with Bai, and intends to invest in one of their projects.”

Mo Xiuchen’s tone was very calm, “As one of the company’s shareholders, I felt I should inform you in advance to prevent you from being surprised later.”

“I only care about the year-end dividends; everything else is of no concern to .”

Luo Haofeng hesitated for a mont but quickly answered with a laugh.

His answer seed to be within Mo Xiuchen’s expectations, “Your new girlfriend, how is she? If you’re sure about continuing this relationship, bring her to G City so we can all et her.”

“Been a bit busy lately. When Ah Kai holds the celebration for his son, if she’s available, I’ll bring her with to G City.”

Luo Haofeng agreed readily, without hesitation.

The reason he was dating Tian Ruoyi, even Mo Xiuchen and others weren’t told.

Not because he didn’t trust them.

He simply didn’t want them to worry about him.

If Mo Xiuchen knew that Luo Haofeng’s relationship with Tian Ruoyi was a transaction, he wouldn’t say things like letting go of Bai Xiaoxiao.

“Sure, Ah Kai has been so busy lately that he’s practically vanished. If I don’t go to the hospital, I won’t see him at all.”

ntioning Gu Kai, Mo Xiuchen started teasing again.

“Indeed, with a new son, Ah Kai can’t help but be busy. If you and Ranran had another child, you wouldn’t have ti to call either.”

“If Ranran and I were to have more, it would be another set of twins, not just one.”

Mo Xiuchen spoke pridefully, and Luo Haofeng’s mouth twitched, “Mo Xiuchen, boasting is easy, but if you and Ranran really have another set of boy-girl twins, I’ll believe in your abilities.”

“Not having any.”

Mo Xiuchen flatly refused.

Luo Haofeng laughed heartily, “Are you afraid you can’t manage?”

“No.”

“Then why don’t you dare to have more?”

One thing Luo Haofeng couldn’t stand was Mo Xiuchen’s pride about his twins every ti children were brought up, constantly confident that he and Ranran could easily have another set.

Saying things like that didn’t scare him from getting hit.

“I’m afraid I’d discourage you all, making you afraid to marry and have kids.”

If Mo Xiuchen was physically present, Luo Haofeng was certain he’d kick him; that guy was entirely too shaless.

He snorted disdainfully, “Too lazy to hear you brag, I’m off work, bye!”
