ng Ke reached out to hold her hand, “Xiaoxiao, your hand is cold. Let’s get in the car first and find a warm place to talk.”
Bai Xiaoxiao’s hand was held by him. She didn’t resist and just smiled, “Your hand isn’t warm either.”
“Exactly, that’s why we’re finding a warm place, co have sothing to eat with .”
“You haven’t eaten yet?”
Bai Xiaoxiao blinked, looking at ng Ke in surprise.
He called in the afternoon and said he had landed.
Several hours had passed, and he still hadn’t eaten?
“Get in the car first.”
ng Ke smiled, turned around to open the car door, and half-pushed her inside.
Bai Xiaoxiao withdrew her hand from his grip, bent down, and got into the car. Only then did ng Ke walk around the front of the car and sit in the driver’s seat.
As soon as they got in, he turned on the air conditioning.
Ten minutes later, ng Ke and Bai Xiaoxiao were sitting in a warm restaurant.
Because it was a private room, it was particularly quiet.

“I was catching up on sleep, hoping to wait for you to have dinner together. When I woke up and saw it was past eight, I drove over to find you.”
A trace of puzzlent flashed through Bai Xiaoxiao’s eyes.
“How did you know I would be ho so early?”
“I guessed.”
“ng Ke, did you know I was having dinner at Xiao Yuting’s house tonight?”
Bai Xiaoxiao asked calmly, looking at ng Ke’s expression, which seed both amused and understanding.
Other than that, she couldn’t think of why ng Ke had gone to her house to find her, especially after she had told him she had a social engagent.
And he didn’t even call her.
When he reached out to hold her hand, his palm wasn’t warm.
The indication was that he had been standing in the night for quite a while.
“Xiaoxiao, I didn’t an to hide it from you.” ng Ke smiled genuinely, already knowing that waiting for her there, soone as smart as her would definitely figure it out.
“How did you know? Could it have been my dad who told you?”
Bai Xiaoxiao squinted her eyes, her hand lightly touching her cup. The scalding heat of the water made her pull back imdiately.
ng Ke shook his head, “Xiaoxiao, it wasn’t your father who told , but I did know you were having dinner at Xiao Yuting’s house. However, I didn’t know your mom was there too.”
“Who told you?”
Bai Xiaoxiao felt even more puzzled.
Her dining at Xiao Yuting’s house wasn’t public knowledge. She hadn’t ntioned it, and her father didn’t say anything either. It couldn’t have been Xiao Yuting himself, could it?
“Could it be Xiao Yuting?”
Bai Xiaoxiao voiced her suspicion, and ng Ke just smiled, “That’s not important. What matters is that I knew where to find you.”
ng Ke’s response effectively confird Bai Xiaoxiao’s belief that it was Xiao Yuting who told him.
It’s not impossible since Xiao Yuting’s dislike for ng Ke was quite open.
The waiter ca to serve the dishes. ng Ke invited Bai Xiaoxiao to eat and thoughtfully served her so food, so she didn’t continue the previous topic.
“Xiaoxiao, when I was waiting for you, I was thinking that if you ignored , what would I do? Now that I see you’re not angry, I can finally breathe a sigh of relief.”
“Why would I ignore you?”
Bai Xiaoxiao looked at ng Ke with a smile.
A hint of apology flashed in ng Ke’s eyes as he put down his chopsticks and looked at Bai Xiaoxiao tenderly and intently, saying softly, “Xiaoxiao, about Xu Wanqi, I’m really sorry. I didn’t expect her to co to you.”
“I didn’t expect it either.”
Bai Xiaoxiao’s indifferent tone made ng Ke a bit uneasy.
“She didn’t see you, did she?”
“No. After you called, she left. By the ti I returned to the company, she had already gone.”
As she said this, Bai Xiaoxiao picked up a piece of shrimp and ate it slowly, “She does listen to you.”

Implying that Xu Wanqi was afraid he wouldn’t pay her salary.
ng Ke couldn’t help but laugh.
“Xiaoxiao, there’s sothing I need to tell you.”
“What is it?”
Bai Xiaoxiao swallowed the shrimp in her mouth, picked up her now drinkable water, and took a gentle sip.
“I t with Xu Wanqi this afternoon and told her to stay on at the travel agency.”
ng Ke said this with a steady gaze on Bai Xiaoxiao.
Observing every subtle change in her expression.
As if afraid she might be upset because of this.
Bai Xiaoxiao gave a light smile, “You don’t need to tell this. She’s originally your employee at the travel agency, and as her boss, you don’t need to consult an outsider like before making decisions, do you?”
“Xiaoxiao, you’re not an outsider.”
Suddenly, ng Ke turned serious.
Looking at Bai Xiaoxiao with a solemn expression.
Bai Xiaoxiao was montarily taken aback.
In ng Ke’s eyes, there seed to be a sparkle as he spoke each word clearly, “Xiaoxiao, you’re going to be my future partner, my wife, which ans the boss’s wife of the travel agency. I don’t want anyone at the agency to make you uncomfortable.”
Bai Xiaoxiao didn’t say anything but just gently pressed her lips together.
It wasn’t the first ti ng Ke had talked about their future together.
In fact, ever since she returned to China, ng Ke would often ntion their future marriage and life together.
But she couldn’t quite picture what that would look like.
“So, although I kept Xu Wanqi, I also warned her not to be disrespectful or rude to you in the future, because that would an disregarding as her boss.”

Bai Xiaoxiao sighed softly, her voice gently breaking the silence.

Bai Xiaoxiao was amused by his reaction. She leaned back in her chair, looking at him with a twinkling smile, “You better eat quickly, don’t explain, because explanation is just concealnt.”
ng Ke was montarily dazzled by Bai Xiaoxiao’s radiant smile.
He spontaneously smiled too, happily saying, “Alright, I won’t explain or conceal.”
