Struck a chord deep in Bai Xiaoxiao’s heart, as if it had been yanked hard.

After dinner, she went upstairs early, took a bath, and leaned against the bed in her pajamas reading a book, waiting for Luo Haofeng’s call.

Still, she answered the call.
"Hello, Ranran."
"Why do you sound so listless? Are you waiting for a certain soone’s call?"
Over the line, Wen Ran’s teasing voice ca through.
Bai Xiaoxiao half-jokingly replied, "Yes, if you have nothing else to say, hang up quickly so you don’t delay waiting for the call."
"You prioritizing love over friendship, how could you?" Wen Ran complained over the phone, but Bai Xiaoxiao just laughed and didn’t reply.
"Xiaoxiao, I’m actually calling to discuss sothing serious. Brother Lu has found out the results about the attack on Xu Wanqi. Want to hear it?"
"The results ca out so quickly?"
Bai Xiaoxiao asked with so surprise.
"Yes, the results were sowhat expected, nothing surprising. Those people were hired by Xu Wanqi herself, to impress ng Ke."
Bai Xiaoxiao suddenly laughed, "She’s really putting in a lot of effort."
"And another thing, there seems to be sothing going on between Xu Wanqi and ng Ke. Mo Xiuchen reviewed the hospital footage and noticed ng Ke agreeing to take care of Xu Wanqi in the hospital, which seems suspicious."
"Was this discussed in the ward?"
"Precisely because it wasn’t discussed in the ward, it seems they have things they don’t want others to know."
"Oh."
Bai Xiaoxiao was a bit puzzled, not understanding.

Wen Ran snuggled into his warm embrace, her features glowing with happiness, she looked up at his handso smiling face, "Xiaoxiao is waiting for Luo Haofeng’s call. If I chatted with her until midnight, she would strangle ."
