Mother Bai glared at her coldly, “Go to the hospital and check if you’re really pregnant.”
Bai Xiaoxiao’s mouth twitched.
My dear mom, do you have to be so direct in saying I’m lying to you?
Could you be a little more tactful?
“Tomorrow…”
Bai Xiaoxiao’s words were just out of her mouth when a crisp phone ringtone interrupted.
Bai Xiaoxiao smiled apologetically, took out her phone, and answered.
Mother Bai saw her look normal and glanced at the caller ID on the screen; it wasn’t Luo Haofeng calling.
She figured there was no need to stay and listen to her answer the call, so she stepped away from the sofa toward the stairs.
“Hello.”

Mother Bai didn’t know what the person on the other end said, but as she reached the stairs and her hand touched the railing, she heard Bai Xiaoxiao from the sofa ask, “How could this happen?”
Mother Bai startled, turned to look.
She saw Bai Xiaoxiao’s eyebrows furrowing, a hint of worry in her voice.
It seed sothing had happened.
She stood there listening for a minute, not entirely clear on the issue, but one point was clear enough.
D Country had a problem.
Bai Xiaoxiao finished her call and walked over to Mother Bai.
“Xiaoxiao, what’s wrong?”
Mother Bai asked, looking at her daughter with concern.
Bai Xiaoxiao forced a smile, though it seed a bit stiff. She reached out to hold Mother Bai’s wrist, “Mom, it’s so company affairs. I’ll go upstairs with you and talk to Dad.”
Regarding company matters, Mother Bai always stays out of them.
Bai Xiaoxiao didn’t want her mom to worry about it.
Seeing her daughter’s smile, though forced, and hearing what she just said, Mother Bai gently patted Bai Xiaoxiao’s hand, soothing, “Don’t worry. Discuss it well with your father, and you will surely solve it.”
Bai Xiaoxiao followed Mother Bai upstairs to her parents’ bedroom.
Mr. Bai wasn’t in the bedroom but in the study.
Bai Xiaoxiao asked her mom to go to bed first, then she went to the study to find her dad.
“Xiaoxiao, done talking with your mom?”
Seeing Bai Xiaoxiao push the door open and enter, Mr. Bai smiled and waved at her.
Bai Xiaoxiao ca to the desk, and Mr. Bai finally noticed sothing was off, assuming she had another contention with her mom.
“Did your mom scold you?”
Bai Xiaoxiao nodded and shook her head, “Dad, my mother did scold , but I’m here for another reason.”
“Just now, I received a call from Jian Yiwei saying sothing happened in D Country, and I need to go over there tomorrow.”
“What happened?”
Upon hearing that sothing happened to the company, Mr. Bai’s expression imdiately turned serious.
Bai Xiaoxiao recounted to Mr. Bai what Jian Yiwei just said on the phone.
After hearing her out, Mr. Bai’s brows knit tightly, “How could such a thing happen? Even if you go yourself, it’s still difficult to manage.”
“Dad, it’s okay. They only want to extort so money. Conversely, as long as we find the evidence, we can take them to court.”
Getting down to business, Bai Xiaoxiao looked cold as ice.
Mr. Bai shook his head, “It’s not so easy to find evidence, and Jian Yiwei himself can’t handle it. Don’t rush when you get there.”
“I know.”
Bai Xiaoxiao replied softly.
Mr. Bai mused for a mont, “When do you plan on going?”
“Tomorrow morning, this kind of thing shouldn’t be delayed, I want to get over there as soon as possible.”
“Be careful of everything when you arrive there. If you’re looking for evidence, the other party may try to stop you.”
After all, it’s a substantial amount.
Bai Xiaoxiao nodded, smiling slightly, “Dad, don’t worry, I’ll be careful.”
Bai Xiaoxiao returned to her room, took a shower, and was about to call Luo Haofeng when her mom suddenly ca in.
“Xiaoxiao, did your dad say you’re going to D Country tomorrow?”
Mother Bai heard this downstairs just a mont ago.
However, she thought after Xiaoxiao discussed it with her dad, she wouldn’t go.
Bai Xiaoxiao walked over, took her mom to sit down on the sofa.
“Mom, sothing happened over there, I have to go and resolve it.”
Mother Bai looked at her seriously, “No, you can’t go.”
“…” Why can’t I go?
Bai Xiaoxiao looked puzzled; she knew the situation there well, who else could go if not her?
Mother Bai’s gaze swept over her abdon, “You’ve just beco pregnant, it’s not suitable for flying, especially not such a long journey.”

Bai Xiaoxiao suddenly felt that her earlier lie had terrible timing.
But now, she couldn’t say she was lying to her mom earlier.
She could only muster a stiff smile and assure confidently, “It’s okay, Mom, don’t worry. I will definitely give you a pair of twins.”
Mother Bai glared at her fiercely, “I just told your dad, he’s going over there to handle it.”
“My dad is going?”
Bai Xiaoxiao looked at Mother Bai in surprise, realizing her mother’s concern.
This awareness filled Bai Xiaoxiao with a little bit of joy; however, with the company’s trouble, she’s more anxious.
It would be easier to deal with if it were dostically, but abroad, things are more complicated.
“Yes, your dad’s going, staying at the company will be the sa.”
Bai Xiaoxiao chuckled, shaking her head, “Mom, my dad’s not familiar with things over there, it would be easier for to resolve them if I go. Don’t worry, I’ll take care of myself and go for a check-up once I get back, okay?”
“Why can’t you be obedient even once?”
Though Mother Bai was angry her daughter got pregnant with Luo Haofeng’s child, her concern for her daughter remains.
She’s in early pregnancy now and can’t just run around recklessly.
“Mom, I know you’re worried about , but my dad really isn’t familiar with the situation over there. I have so connections that make handling things easier. The quicker I resolve it, the better for us.”
Mother Bai is ultimately aware that matters abroad are generally handled by Xiaoxiao.
Mr. Bai dealing with it there wouldn’t be as convenient as Bai Xiaoxiao.
After Bai Xiaoxiao’s repeated assurance, Mother Bai relented, “Fine, if you have to go, go ahead. But take care of yourself over there; issues can easily arise in the first three months.”
Whether it’s because tis have changed or circumstances are different.
Back when Mother Bai and them were having children, it wasn’t as troubleso as now. No extensive checks nor many complications.
But now, she often hears the ladies around talking about soone miscarrying or a pregnancy not developing properly…
Listening, it just feels like having a healthy child nowadays is more complex.
Hearing Xiaoxiao’s pregnancy news and knowing she would go abroad tomorrow,
Mother Bai couldn’t help worrying, fearing the long journey might affect the fetus in her belly.
“Mom, I know, I’ll call you every day to ease your mind.”
“Then rest early.”
Mother Bai sighed, deciding to wait until Xiaoxiao was back to talk further.
