Capítulo 2001: Chapter 2000: Watching the Video
Shi Tian smiled at Ou Yihan.
Ou Yihan didn’t know Jing Xiaocha, so she turned to look at Wen Jin.
Wen Jin’s eyes flickered, and he said calmly, “Since you have sothing to do, you should leave first.”
Jing Xiaocha nodded, bid farewell to Shi Tian and Ou Yihan, and left the bar.
As Wen Jin and Ou Yihan followed Shi Tian upstairs, they looked back once more towards the bar’s entrance.
In the private room on the second floor, Wen Jin exchanged pleasantries with Shi Tian and then casually asked, “Boss Shi, could I take a look at the video where my friend was bullied?”
Shi Tian’s eyes briefly showed surprise, but he then nodded with a smile, “Of course, you can. Just a mont.”
He said this, got up, and left the room.
After Shi Tian left, Ou Yihan asked with concern, “Wen Jin, are you still worried about Miss Jing?”
“You can just call her Xiaocha. The title Miss Jing sounds awkward to .”
Wen Jin’s seemingly unrelated reply made Ou Yihan chuckle. She then followed up with, “It seems like you’re very close to Xiaocha. She calls you Brother Wen. Is she your neighbor’s younger sister?”
Wen Jin lowered his gaze, picked up the glass of red wine before him, and gently swirled it. The light fragrance of the wine lingered at his nose as he spoke in the room with a calm voice, “No. She once did a huge favor, and after spending so ti together, she started calling Brother Wen.”
“I see.”
Ou Yihan indicated she understood.
A few minutes later, Shi Tian returned with a laptop and said to Wen Jin and Ou Yihan, “This is the video of Miss Jing from when she ca into the bar until she left.”
Since Wen Jin wanted to see the video, he must be trying to figure out the reason behind it.
Shi Tian guessed that Wen Jin wanted to know why Jing Xiaocha, a girl, ca to a place like a bar. At first glance, that girl nad Jing Xiaocha seed like soone who wouldn’t usually visit bars.
Wen Jin gave Shi Tian a faint smile to express gratitude.
He accepted the laptop and played the video.
As expected, from the mont Jing Xiaocha entered the bar, he saw her on the video standing at the entrance, looking around the hall.
Then she headed straight towards the dance floor.
Ou Yihan watched the video with Wen Jin, tilting her head slightly.
Shi Tian, on the other hand, leisurely sipped his wine, occasionally glancing at Wen Jin and Ou Yihan.
Wen Jin showed no change in his expression until he finished watching the video. His face, as handso as a sculpture, remained composed, and his eyes, as dark as ink, were calm and unruffled.
After finishing the video, his long fingers gently tapped the mouse to replay a certain point of the video.
At this mont, Ou Yihan exclaid, “Wen Jin, I think there’s sothing wrong with this man.”
A flash of coldness flickered briefly in the depths of Wen Jin’s dark eyes. Yes, the two n causing trouble for Xiaocha were under the orders of this middle-aged man.
And Jing Xiaocha ca to the bar tonight to look for this man.
Due to the noise, Wen Jin couldn’t clearly hear what Jing Xiaocha was saying to the man, only catching bits and pieces about novels, manuscripts, and plagiarism.
“Hmm.”
Wen Jin responded simply with a “hmm” and said nothing more.
Ou Yihan blinked, then looked up at Shi Tian, “Shi Tian, is that middle-aged man still downstairs?”
“He has already left.”
Shi Tian had already watched the video before, so when Ou Yihan asked, he directly answered her.
Ou Yihan frowned, “That man is the mastermind. Wen Jin, you should warn Xiaocha to be careful.”
Wen Jin nodded with a smile, “Alright, I’ll tell her later.”
Despite saying this, Wen Jin was contemplating whether to find Jing Xiaocha later and ask her about it.
Or to call Ranran and ask her to check on Jing Xiaocha.
In any case, it was as he thought, Jing Xiaocha wouldn’t co to a place like a bar without a reason; she ca here to find that man.
After watching the video, Wen Jin thanked Shi Tian again.
Shi Tian waved his hand, “Since President Wen is a friend of Yi Han’s, you’re a friend of mine, too…”
Ou Yihan and Wen Jin didn’t stay long at the bar, because she had a surgery scheduled for the next day. After leaving the bar, Wen Jin drove her ho.
Ou Yihan, sitting in the passenger seat, looked at Wen Jin driving and smiled brightly, “Wen Jin, can I invite you to dinner and hang out with in the future?”
Wen Jin smiled slightly and turned to look at her, “Of course.”
Ou Yihan’s face lit up even more, “Then I’m relieved.”
When they reached her doorstep, Ou Yihan didn’t invite Wen Jin in, “I’ll spare you from coming inside. If you do, my parents will bombard you with questions, and you’ll find it annoying.”
Wen Jin nodded.
Ou Yihan smiled again, waved at him, and got out of the car.
After closing the car door, she rembered sothing, reopened the door, and said to him, “Drive safely.”
Wen Jin didn’t go directly to Jing Xiaocha’s ho to find her.
Instead, he went ho and called Wen Ran.
Sitting alone on the large sofa in the living room, Wen Jin’s voice was gentle and deep, “Ranran, I ran into Xiaocha at the bar tonight. She was being harassed by two thugs. I later watched the video and found out the thugs probably were instructed by the man she went to find tonight. Please warn her to be careful.”
On the phone, Wen Ran’s voice sounded surprised, “Xiaocha went to the bar alone? Brother, why didn’t you tell her yourself, and why were you at the bar?”
Wen Ran knew that her brother Wen Jin didn’t like places like bars and rarely visited them.
Wen Jin patiently explained, “I was accompanying a friend to the bar, and happened to run into Jing Xiaocha. Please inform her.”
“Oh, alright then.”
Wen Ran hung up the phone, contemplating her brother Wen Jin’s words.
Just then, Mo Xiuchen ca out of the bathroom and saw Wen Ran’s thoughtful expression. He smiled gently and ca over to the bed, took the phone from her hand, and placed it on the small table beside them, “Ranran, whose call was that just now?”
Wen Ran looked up at him and softly said, “It was my brother. He said he bumped into Xiaocha at the bar tonight, and she was being bullied. He also ntioned that the two who bullied her might have been sent by the man she was looking for tonight.”
Mo Xiuchen smiled indulgently, “You look puzzled. If you want to know what happened, why not give Jing Xiaocha a call and ask?”
“I’m just puzzled why my brother didn’t call Xiaocha himself. Last ti, when I asked Xiaocha, she said she had already apologized to him. But now he doesn’t even want to call her. Could it be that Xiaocha lied to last ti?”
The more Wen Ran thought about it, the more she found it possible.
Mo Xiuchen chuckled and shook his head, his distinctly jointed hand gently stroking Wen Ran’s smooth hair, “As far as I know, Ah Jin is currently seeing the girl introduced by our dad. And since Jing Xiaocha likes him, he’s probably avoiding her because of this.”
