Chapter 2393: Chapter 197: We’ll Wait for You Downstairs
Ji Anyun’s slightly widened eyes showed a hint of confusion.
That look made her appear a bit pitiful and innocent.
She looked somewhat distressed at the tall and handsome Ye Zhan in front of her.
“Ye Zhan, I was just about to tell you about this. I called Miss Mo that day, and she misunderstood me, even deleting me from her WeChat friends.”
“Really?”
Ye Zhan’s voice was devoid of emotion.
Li Anyun’s face inexplicably turned a bit pale. Ye Zhan’s indifferent expression made her feel inexplicably unfortable.
“I really didn’t doubt Miss Mo; I was just afraid you wouldn’t believe her, so I called to explain the situation. These days, I haven’t known what to do, Ye Zhan, aren’t you and Miss Mo friends too? Can you call her and explain for me? I really didn’t mean anything else.”
“She also deleted me.”
Ye Zhan’s calm tone fell on Ji Anyun’s ears, making her pale face even whiter.
In disbelief, she asked, “Ye Zhan, are you serious? Why did Miss Mo delete you too? Could she also have misunderstood you? How could she misunderstand you? You never doubted her…”
She suddenly stopped talking.
Ye Zhan squinted slightly.
Looking at Ji Anyun’s eyes filled with surprise, unfairness, guilt, and a plex mix of panic, he felt not even the slightest ripple in his heart.
Ji Anyun also stared fixedly at him.
Ye Zhan’s expression remained gentle and calm, showing no signs of unhappiness after being deleted by Momo.
“I heard that Miss Mo’s brother, Mo Ziye, is still in the Imperial City and hasn’t returned. Maybe I could ask him to explain to Miss Mo; I don’t want that call to cause her to misunderstand you.”
At this point, Ji Anyun lowered her eyes and bit her lip.
She then lowered her voice and said, as if talking to herself, “I thought Miss Mo was your friend and would trust you. I didn’t expect you to trust her, but she doesn’t trust you.”
Ye Zhan’s expression finally changed.
A deep shadow passed through the depths of his eyes, his lips pressed coldly as he spoke coolly, “No need.”
Ji Anyun lifted her lowered head.
“Ye Zhan, Miss Mo misunderstood you. Don’t you want to clear things up?”
“Let’s talk about it later.”
Ye Zhan didn’t seem to care.
At least, that was the impression he gave Ji Anyun.
Ji Anyun’s face showed a faint smile, “Alright then, anyway, it’s not just you being misunderstood by Miss Mo. I’m in the same boat with you.”
“I remember Yi Ze was also your WeChat friend, right?”
Ye Zhan suddenly changed the topic.
Although his tone was calm, there was an inherent authority not to be deceived.
Ji Anyun paused in confusion and said, “I’m not sure. Feng Yize and I are friends, but maybe he deleted me thinking I was one of those girls who admired him. I’ll call him and ask later. These days, since Miss Mo deleted me, I’ve been feeling a bit down and haven’t thought about it.”
“I’ll ask Yi Ze when I meet him tonight.”
Ye Zhan seemed to believe Ji Anyun’s explanation.
He glanced down at his re-bandaged hand, “You can go back to work.”
“Do you have some time? I still have some things I’d like to discuss with you.”
Ji Anyun’s voice was a bit urgent, afraid he might leave just like that.
Ye Zhan turned to look at Tang Jinchen, who maintained a calm expression.
“We’ll wait for you downstairs.”
“Alright, I’ll go change my clothes first.”
Ji Anyun nodded with a smile, then turned and left quickly.
Tang Jinchen and Ye Zhan went downstairs to wait in the hospital’s parking lot for Ji Anyun.
Ye Zhan wasn’t looking at the hospital entrance, but at the traffic on the road, lounging casually against the car, a touch of cold irony in his handsome brows, “I just want her and Yi Ze to face each other, to find out who really deleted whom.”
“Well…”
Tang Jinchen laughed, “Ji Anyun would never admit that she deleted Yi Ze.”
Ye Zhan suddenly turned his head to glance at the opposite side of the street.
His intuition told him someone was there.
But he had no intention of chasing them.
The distance was a bit far, with the enemy in the dark while he was in the open; chasing might not catch the person.
“What’s wrong?”
Tang Jinchen followed Ye Zhan’s gaze.
But he just heard Ye Zhan smile faintly, “Perhaps we’re being followed, but that’s okay.”
In fact, Ye Zhan was never entirely confident that he could distinguish between truth and falsehood.
He furrowed his brow, recalling the scene at the time.
Momo had wanted to lower the car window, but he stopped her.
At the hospital entrance, Ji Anyun emerged.
Without the white gown, she wore a long leather coat, a short skirt below, and boots.
Loose waves cascaded over her shoulders, and she walked toward them with a bright smile.
Tang Jinchen gave Ye Zhan a look, but Ye Zhan stood unmoved; only when she approached did he straighten from his leaned posture against the car.
“Did you drive yourself?”
He asked Ji Anyun.
Ji Anyun nodded, “My car’s just over there. Do you want to ride in my car?”
She pointed to where her car was parked.
Ye Zhan smirked slightly and started walking.
Inside, Ji Anyun felt a burst of happiness and quickly caught up with him.
Arriving at her car, Ji Anyun hurried to the front to open the passenger door for him.
But after a glance at her, Ye Zhan closed the car door.
“…I’ll ride with Jinchen.”
He told Ji Anyun to go to that restaurant from the other day.
Saying that Feng Yize would also arrive later.
The joy in Ji Anyun’s eyes was doused by his words, but she maintained her smile, “Okay, see you later then.”
She said that, walked around the car, and got into the driver’s seat.
Ye Zhan stood in front of the car, watching her reverse and drive out of the parking lot onto the road.
Only then did he get into Tang Jinchen’s car.
“I thought you were going to ride with Ji Anyun.”
Tang Jinchen looked at Ye Zhan fastening his seatbelt, raised an eyebrow, and teased.
Ye Zhan buckled up, indicating that they could go.
“After you drop me off, book a flight to G City. Just get back tomorrow morning.”
Tang Jinchen was a bit tempted but shook his head, “Forget it. It’s not too late to go after a few days.”
“Just go.”
Ye Zhan’s meaning was clear to Tang Jinchen.
Feeling warm inside, he curved his lips, “I don’t want to go to G City so early.”
“Why?”
Ye asked curiously, looking at Tang Jinchen.
He liked Gu Zhitong so much, how could he not want to see her?
Afraid that once he left, things would pile up and bee unmanageable.
Tang Jinchen’s expression turned a little awkward; after hesitating, he finally said, “I do like Tongtong, but she’s never said she’d accept me…”

[As the New Year approaches, there are many things to be busy with. I know everyone is anxious, but Ye Zi has limited time and speed, making it hard to do extra updates.
If everyone works hard to meet the conditions for extra updates, Ye Zi will satisfy them.]
