“Ranran, what are you doing here?”
Wen Ran ran into Shen Yuting in the corridor when she returned from the restroom. Seeing her in the hospital, Shen Yuting expressed surprise and concern.
Wen Ran gave a slight smile and looked towards Gu Kai’s office, speaking softly, “Mo Xiuchen is in Older Brother Gu’s office. I just stepped out for so fresh air.”
Shen Yuting thought she had misheard. Her gaze rested on Wen Ran’s face for a mont before realization dawned, and a radiant smile spread across her beautiful face. She grabbed Wen Ran’s hand, asking excitedly, “Ranran, have you and Mo Xiuchen made up?”
Seeing her excitent and joy, Wen Ran felt a warmth in her heart, “I don’t know if you could call it ‘making up’, but I have agreed to his request for consideration.”
Upon hearing this, Shen Yuting’s smile froze for a second but quickly returned brighter than ever, “Ranran, I hope you go back to Mo Xiuchen…”
She glanced at Gu Kai’s office not too far away, then changed her suggestion,” Let’s go to my office instead. They are probably busy discussing n’s business, and it might be boring for you to stay there. I happen to be free now, so we can chat.”
“Okay!”
Wen Ran, seeing Shen Yuting’s radiant smile, couldn’t help but think of Jiang Liu.
As soon as they got back to the office, Shen Yuting led Wen Ran to the couch and eagerly poured her a glass of water before sitting down next to her, “Ranran, that night, Mo Xiuchen called .”
Wen Ran blinked in bewildernt, “Which night?”
Shen Yuting licked her lips and explained softly, “The night I ca to visit you. Later that night, Mo Xiuchen called and asked what I had said to you that made you cry.”
As she spoke, Wen Ran’s expression slightly changed.
The hand that had been resting on the table clenched subconsciously. The image of Mo Xiuchen’s cold and reserved facial features flashed before her eyes. Yet a hint of sourness welled up in her heart. Even if he had not shown up in front of her during those two days, he still knew everything about her!

Later, when he had embraced her and carried her upstairs to the bedroom, she suddenly realized that Mo Xiuchen had deceived her.
“Don’t worry, I promised to keep your secret and I didn’t tell him anything. However, Mo Xiuchen will definitely suspect sothing. Once he suspects sothing, he’ll do anything to verify it.”
Shen Yuting both wanted Mo Xiuchen to know the truth and feared it.
On one hand, if he knew, he would find ways to keep Ranran. They could continue to be together, and wouldn’t have to suffer separately. On the other hand, she was afraid that once the truth was revealed, Ranran would be even more determined to leave and it might backfire.
A touch of pallor appeared on Wen Ran’s exquisite face. She took a slight sip from the glass of water and tried to ignore Mo Xiuchen’s words from the night before echoing in her ears. He had said that if she would not tell him, he would find out the truth in his own ways.
Just like Shen Yuting said, he was already suspicious.
Once he was suspicious, he would do anything to verify it. Against him, she was no match at all. His mind was so ticulous and if he used his cunning tactics against her, it wouldn’t be long before she would have to tell the truth.
“Ranran, you don’t have to worry. Although Mo Xiuchen is sharp and intelligent, as long as you stay by his side, he won’t think about anything else.”
Wen Ran forced herself to smile, “Yes, worrying won’t help. I will take it one step at a ti. If he ever finds out the truth, worse cos to worst, I’ll just leave G City and make sure he can’t find .”
Seeing Shen Yuting frown with worry, Wen Ran quickly changed the topic, “Sister Ting, didn’t you promise to show what your boyfriend looks like? Have you taken any pictures of him these past few days? If not, why not make ti for to et him in person? The more you don’t tell , the more curious I beco.”
Shen Yuting hesitated for a mont, but quickly replied with a smile, “Okay, I’ll show you now. But don’t be surprised when you see his picture.”
Wen Ran raised her eyebrows, feigning surprise, “Why would I be surprised? Is your boyfriend so handso that it leaves people breathless? Don’t worry, I see handso n every day, I won’t be shocked.”
“It’s not that he’s breathtakingly handso. It’s just…well, you’ll see for yourself.”
Subconsciously, Wen Ran was hoping that Shen Yuting’s boyfriend was not Jiang Liu. Having just learned about Jiang Liu’s past, she felt that he didn’t deserve Shen Yuting, who was so outstanding.
When she saw the picture, she was still shocked to the point where her eyes widened.
The photo she had just seen in Gu Kai’s office and the one taken by Shen Yuting were slightly different. To be exact, the Jiang Liu captured by Shen Yuting seed more like Mo Xiuchen in both appearance and temperant.
“Ranran?”
Shen Yuting noticed Wen Ran staring blankly at the photo on her phone. A hint of awkwardness flashed across her face, and she softly called out.
She hadn’t wanted the people around her to know about Jiang Liu. Not because of his past recklessness, but because of his face. Everyone knew that she had liked Mo Xiuchen for many years. Wen Ran blinked, then looked up at Shen Yuting, “Sister Ting, is he…your boyfriend?”
A smile surfaced on Shen Yuting’s face as she tried to sound as casual as possible, “Yes, he is. Are you surprised? Did you think he looks a lot like Mo Xiuchen?”
“Yes, not just the looks. Even their aura is similar. If I were to see only one side of their faces or their backs, it would be hard to tell them apart at first glance.”
Wen Ran said thoughtfully.
No wonder Cheng Jia had once been involved with Jiang Liu.
