Mo Jingteng’s lips curled up into a faint smile, the sharp eyes that honed from decades in the business world looked on coldly at Luo Haofeng and Qin Mu across from him. Their response had already been expected by him.
Still, it upset him.
He had worked tirelessly all his life for this legacy, which he was willing to hand over to these two outsiders. Yet, they surprisingly declined the offer. He found it as annoying as Mo Xiuchen’s conduct.
“Zixuan is not suitable. I don’t want the MS Group to collapse in his hands, nor do I want tens of thousands of employees at the group to be jobless. Ah Feng has spent so ti at F City, Ah Mu, you’ve been at the headquarters all along, previously assisting Xiuchen on all affairs of the group, you know the most about the group’s affairs. I have recomnded your nomination as the next president to the board of directors; the eting will be held at 3 o’ clock this afternoon.”
He paused, looked at his watch.
Qin Mu was shocked and looked at Mo Jingteng in disbelief: “Chairman, how can this be? I have already resigned and planned to return to A City after today’s transition. I discussed it with my parents last night.”
In the end, he ntioned his parents.
Mo Jingteng was just talking about choosing one of them a mont ago, and in the next mont, he had directly selected him.
His already stern face grew colder. He had no interest in the MS Group at all. Years ago, he and Ah Feng joined MS Group to aid Xiuchen in assuming power.
Then, Mo Jingteng had appreciated Xiuchen’s capabilities and let him return to the group. He thought he could seize the chance to avenge his mother, topple Xiao Wenqing and even control the group bit by bit…

They did not fully believe his words or that he wanted to compensate Xiuchen. Even though Xiuchen had left the group only a few days ago, the MS Group was already facing problems, and they were not minor. Mo Jingteng was probably yearning to bring Xiuchen back for this reason.
Qin Mu’s lips pursed as he calmly refused: “Chairman, Xiuchen doesn’t need the group. He is not soone who lusts for power, instead of compensating him with the group, why not fulfill his simple dream of growing old together with Wen Ran?”
No sooner had his words fallen, than Mo Jingteng changed his expression as if he had been struck. He covered his chest with one hand, his face cringed with pain. His features tightening. Seeing this, Luo Haofeng also beca alard and called out ‘Chairman’, but before he could rush over to help, Mo Jingteng had already fainted, eyes closing and body slumping.

“Vice President, the chairman fainted in the office.”
Mo Zixuan was slouched in his revolving chair, his brows furrowed, lost in thought, when there was a knock on the door. Before he could answer, Cheng Jia pushed her way in and anxiously reported.
Hearing her words, Mo Zixuan imdiately looked up at Cheng Jia, “How did he faint?”
As he spoke, he rose from his seat. He paced speedy strides from behind the desk, and Mo Yu keenly watched Cheng Jia.
Cheng Jia’s eyes flickered, a sudden change showed on her face. She hesitated but another stern look from Mo Zixuan prompted her to explain: “Vice President, the chairman has already been rushed to the hospital by Luo Haofeng and Qin Mu. I heard that the chairman wanted Qin Mu to succeed Mo Xiuchen’s previous position.”
Mo Zixuan abruptly stopped, and he turned his chilling gaze towards Cheng Jia, “What did you just say?”
Intimidated by his gaze, Cheng Jia instinctively lowered her head. By the ti she raised her head again, a calm composure returned to her face: “Vice President, this is what I heard. The chairman called Luo Haofeng and Qin Mu into his office just now to discuss this. If he hadn’t fainted, he would have raised this during the board eting at 3 o’ clock this afternoon.”
A myriad of emotions flashed through Mo Zixuan’s eyes – disbelief, despair, disappointnt, resentnt… in the end, they all rged into a chilling steely determination.
Grandfather, you’re too partial.
His hands clenched at his sides till his knuckles went pale.
He and Mo Xiuchen are both his sons. Yet, while he had always been dismissive to him, he paid full attention to Xiuchen.
Mo Jingteng endured Xiao Wenqing’s repeated attempts to trap Xiuchen. It might be ruthless, but was it not a trial for him? Perhaps, he had decided long ago to hand over the group to that man who had escaped from death several tis, a man who was intelligent, cold-hearted, and ruthless.
Only he miscalculated one thing; that cold-hearted man would give up everything for a woman.
Perhaps Mo Jingteng believed that the little girl who saved him back then was long dead. He never thought that Xiuchen would find her one day, and from then on, give up everything for her.
