Chapter 582: 581 Waiting for results
“No!”
Mo Xiuchen rejected it outright, seeing the nurse who had taken two steps back, he imdiately grabbed Wen Ran’s hand that had just been pricked with a needle, and he looked at the nurse with a cold stare.
The nurse, under his piercing gaze, bit her lips in grievance and went into another room to have soone else draw blood from Wen Ran.
This ti, the blood draw went smoothly. Mo Xiuchen watched as Wen Ran’s blood was drawn, his eyebrows furrowed with concern. His Ranran was already so thin. How long would it take for her to recover after losing so much blood?
Wen Ran seed to sense his worry. She lifted her head and gave him a comforting smile, lightheartedly saying, “I have plenty of blood. Donating a bit is no problem.”
After the incident with the blood draw, when going for the next examination, Wen Ran no longer allowed Mo Xiuchen to accompany her. Instead, she let him wait outside.
She was afraid he would scare off the doctors or nurses for so reason or another.
Mo Xiuchen wanted to protest, but her gentle smile silenced him. He sighed softly in his heart and reluctantly agreed.
Although Wen Ran had undergone a full check-up in G City, Dr. Brown ordered her to undergo all the tests again to understand her latest health condition. From exterior to interior, head to toe, blood to urine, every test was done.
After all the tests, even though they took the elevator, they walked a lot. By the end of the last examination, Wen Ran was feeling very tired.
“Ranran, are you feeling unwell? You don’t look so good,”
Mo Xiuchen was waiting outside, he imdiately caught her hand as soon as she erged, his eyes looking gently at her. When he noticed her poor complexion, his handso eyebrows furrowed in worry.
Wen Ran smiled faintly, “It’s nothing, I’m just a little tired.”
Hearing her words, the worry faded a bit from Mo Xiuchen’s face. Wrapping her delicate hand in his large palm, he said softly, “If you’re feeling tired, we’ll go back to the hotel then. After you have well-rested, in the afternoon, I’ll accompany you for a walk nearby.”
“Nice!”
Wen Ran didn’t want to disappoint him or make him worry. She forced a smile.
Downstairs, back in Dr. Brown’s office, Gu Yan and Brown, along with two other doctors, were discussing sothing. Seeing them returning, Gu Yan greeted them with a gleeful smile, “Ranran, have you finished the tests?”
“Yes!”
Wen Ran nodded, and he continued, “I’ve just completed your hospital admission process. Do you want to rest in the ward or let Mo Xiuchen take you out for a walk before returning to the hotel?”
The results of so tests were imdiate while others required a wait.
Regardless of whether it was an imdiate result or one that required waiting, none of them were given to Wen Ran. Instead, they bypassed her and went straight to Dr. Brown.
These results were now placed on the spacious coffee table, and they had just been discussing her current situation.
Wen Ran’s clear eyes blinked, looking at the coffee table and seeing a result in Dr. Brown’s hand.
Just as she was about to reply, Mo Xiuchen had already interjected, “Dad, so results haven’t co out yet. I want to take Ranran back to the hotel first. Once all the results have co out, we’ll return to the hospital.”
Subconsciously, he didn’t want his Ranran to be hospitalized.
He was naively hoping that the test results would be normal, that his Ranran was all healthy. Although he knew this was a childish thought.
Kim Yan pondered for a mont, then said gently, “Alright, you take Ranran back to the hotel first. After all the results co out, then co back to the hospital.”
Mo Xiuchen greeted the few doctors sitting on the couch before lowering his gaze to Wen Ran, “Ranran, let’s go back to the hotel first.”
“Ok!”
Wen Ran responded softly, allowing him to lead her by the hand out of the hospital. The pair headed towards the hotel along the street they had co.
Back at the hotel, Mo Xiuchen promptly asked Wen Ran to rest in bed.
He sat on the edge of the bed, holding her hand in his big palm, looking at her with gentle eyes. His other hand gently beautified the sheets from ti to ti.
Under his companionship and ‘reassurances’, Wen Ran quickly fell asleep.
Noticing that her breathing beca uniform and faint, the gentle smile at the corner of his lips faded away.
Gently releasing her hand, he walked towards the floor-to-ceiling window, took out his mobile phone, and was about to make a call when his phone vibrated.
The sudden vibration startled him. When he saw the caller ID, he pursed his lips lightly before answering the call, “Hello, Ah Mu!”
The call was from Qin Mu who was on the other side of the Pacific, his voice hoarse, “Xiuchen, have you seen the doctor? How is Wen Ran’s condition?”
Without beating around the bush, he directly asked about what he cared about. Since seeing Mo Xiuchen and Wen Ran through the security check at the airport, his heart had been tied in knots.
Mo Xiuchen lifted a corner of the curtain with one hand, looking out through the clear glass. Below him, the city was bustling. The architecture of this city was peculiar, and the scenery was beautiful.
But his heart was uneasy.
He heard his own voice ringing out sowhat vaguely, “Just finished the check-up, currently, we still don’t know the results.”
He didn’t know if it was because he was too nervous or if it was his illusion, but he felt that Ranran’s complexion wasn’t good these past two days.
She also seed particularly prone to fatigue. Yesterday, on the plane, she had slept a long ti. Then, when they arrived at the hotel, she fell asleep again.
Today, he accompanied her for the check-ups. Whenever they needed to go upstairs or downstairs, they took the elevator and didn’t climb the stairs.
Naturally, they didn’t walk much.
However, Wen Ran said she was tired, her complexion wasn’t good, and less than ten minutes after they ca back, she fell asleep again.
A sense of panic inexplicably crept up in his heart.
He shook his head, trying to dismiss his thoughts. No, it couldn’t be.
Last ti when they did the check-up, Ah Kai had said that Ranran’s condition had improved. After only more than ten days, how could her condition deteriorate…
Absolutely not possible.
He denied his reckless thoughts, turned around, and stared at the woman sleeping on the bed, his eyes were soft, but filled with a hint of pain.
Hearing him saying that the results hadn’t co out yet, Qin Mu didn’t inquire further but just reminded him, “Before the results co out, Wen Ran will surely be anxious. You should comfort her more, perhaps diverting her mood and taking her out to relax might be better.”
Mo Xiuchen’s mouth curved into a light smile, his gaze lingering on the sleeping Wen Ran’s face, “She said she’s tired. I accompanied her back to the hotel, she just fell asleep.”
“Oh!”
A mont of silence was followed by a gentle ‘oh’ from Qin Mu over the phone. Then, he continued, “My dad has already had soone looking into Qin Sen. According to Wen Jin, Lu Zhiyan is still investigating. You don’t need to worry about the matters in G City, just concentrate on being with Wen Ran.”
A warmth flickered through Mo Xiuchen’s heart. Having such good brothers as Ah Mu, he truly considered himself lucky, “Alright, I’ll give you a call when the results are out.”
