Chapter 608: 607 He is the priceless immortality herb
Bai Xiaoxiao and Luo Haofeng were about to head out, and they coincidentally ran into Wen Ran and Mo Xiuchen in the hotel lobby. Bai Xiaoxiao was absolutely delighted by this unexpected encounter.
Mo Xiuchen had booked a room on the sa floor as Bai Xiaoxiao, rely separated by a couple of rooms. After depositing their luggage in their rooms, Luo Haofeng and Mo Xiuchen went to the coffee shop downstairs, leaving Wen Ran and Bai Xiaoxiao to have a private chat in their room.
After thoroughly examining Wen Ran from head to toe, Bai Xiaoxiao excitedly said, “Ranran, you’re alright! That’s truly fantastic.”
A smile adorned Wen Ran’s face too, but on closer look, there was a fleeting hint of lancholy in the depths of her eyes. It was so transient that Bai Xiaoxiao failed to notice it.
“Xiaoxiao, aren’t you here for business? Why are you with Luo Haofeng? Don’t tell you guys are dating now?”
Seemingly willing to divert the conversation away from her own affairs, Wen Ran looked at Bai Xiaoxiao with probing eyes, attempting to discern sothing from her expressions.
Bai Xiaoxiao’s gaze flickered briefly, hiding behind a laughter, “I just happened to run into Luo Haofeng. I’m not the only one on a business trip to A City, Xiao Yuting is here too.”
The inquisitiveness in Wen Ran’s eyes quickly turned into surprise, “What do you an? What does your business trip have to do with Xiao Yuting? Don’t tell he’s acting as your chaperone?”
Wen Ran had seen Xiao Yuting and Bai Xiaoxiao together at the Yi Pin Xuan Pavilion last ti. She noticed that Xiao Yuting’s attitude towards Xiaoxiao had changed from previous disdain and indifference to a hint of tenderness.
If she wasn’t mistaken, Xiao Yuting must have fallen for Xiaoxiao.
Bai Xiaoxiao gave her a sideways glance and retorted in frustration, “Ranran, do you think I’m the type to go back to my exes? Especially when that ex is a cast-off who has been with countless other won.”
“Pfft!”
Wen Ran couldn’t hold back and let out a snort of laughter. Seeing the astonished look on Xiaoxiao’s face, she teased, “If I rember correctly, soone once chased after that ‘cast-off’ for many years and wanted to pounce on him every chance she got. I used to think that he was a treasure.”
“Your Mo Xiuchen is the real treasure! Back then, I was naive and didn’t know how to judge people.”
Seemingly having moved on from her past, Bai Xiaoxiao now could talk about Xiao Yuting without feeling awkward or hurt.
Wen Ran raised an eyebrow and bragged with a pompous tone, “Xiuchen isn’t just a gold mine. He’s a priceless, heavenly herb that accidentally fell to earth!”
Bai Xiaoxiao shot her a sarcastic look, “Ranran, if your Mo Xiuchen is a heavenly herb, aren’t you afraid of him leaving for the celestial kingdom one day and abandoning you, a re mortal?”
Wen Ran hushed her, inexplicably feeling a touch of lancholic after hearing Xiaoxiao’s words. She rembered the recurring dreams she had every night in D Country and her previously bright eyes slowly dimd.
Just when Bai Xiaoxiao was about to say sothing, Wen Ran’s phone rang.
“Must be Mo Xiuchen.”
Bai Xiaoxiao was absolutely sure. Wen Ran stored away her uncalled-for emotions, pulled out her phone, and found it was indeed Mo Xiuchen, just as Bai Xiaoxiao had predicted.
After Luo Haofeng and Mo Xiuchen had left, Wen Ran shared her recuperation journey in D Country with Bai Xiaoxiao. Afterward, they drifted towards other topics of discussion. Ti flew by, and, they realized, almost half an hour had passed.
She pressed the answer button, sounding cheerful, “Hello, Xiuchen!”
“Ranran, why don’t you and Bai Xiaoxiao co downstairs? Ah Mu has offered to treat us to dinner.”
Mo Xiuchen’s voice traveled across the line, clear and cheerful. Even though she couldn’t see him, Wen Ran unconsciously pictured his handso, smiling face.
“Alright!”
She responded briefly, and Mo Xiuchen, without any further ado, hung up.
Wen Ran was surprised to learn that Qin Mu had already arrived at the hotel. On the phone, Mo Xiuchen only ntioned that Qin Mu was treating them to dinner and hadn’t ntioned that he had arrived already.
The mont she and Bai Xiaoxiao exited the elevator, they saw the three striking n with different deanors standing in the lobby. Qin Mu had his back to the elevator and was talking to Mo Xiuchen.
Luo Haofeng, with his hands in his pockets, exuded an aura of charm and handso elegance.
Mo Xiuchen was facing the elevator. The mont the elevator door slid open, he cast his gaze at Wen Ran who had just stepped out. His lips curved slightly into a perfect arc, causing the hearts of a couple of ladies at the front desk to flutter.
Noticing the change in Mo Xiuchen’s expression, Qin Mu knew Wen Ran had arrived.
He turned his head and laid eyes on Wen Ran, who was dressed in a simple yet elegant dress. Fresh and refined, yet exuding a unique charm, her beautiful face adorned with a light smile and her eyes radiating a starry brilliance.
A string in Qin Mu’s heart seed to be lightly plucked as his gaze involuntarily got fixed on Wen Ran.
“Xiuchen, I think Wen Ran has beco even more beautiful than before.”
At his side, Luo Haofeng was beaming and couldn’t help but tease when he saw how Mo Xiuchen’s gaze got stuck on Wen Ran. It was as if no one else existed in his field of vision once she appeared.
Mo Xiuchen glanced at Qin Mu out of the corner of his eye, shot a knowing look at Luo Haofeng, and walked up to et Wen Ran. His deep eyes filled with a gentle affection.
“How co you didn’t ntion that Qin Mu was already here?”
Wen Ran looked surprised when she saw Qin Mu, but that surprise quickly gave way to a smile.
Mo Xiuchen chuckled and instead of answering, he asked, “Didn’t I?”
“No, you only ntioned that Qin Mu wanted to treat us to dinner,” Wen Ran blinked, confidently asserting.
“Maybe I forgot to ntion it. But isn’t it a pleasant surprise?”
Qin Mu watched them silently with a smile, patiently waiting until their conversation was done before speaking up, “Wen Ran, welco to A City. We’re glad to have you and Mo Xiuchen here!”
“Qin Mu, I’m also a guest in A City. How co you’ve never welcod like this? Don’t tell you’re playing favorites.”
From a corner, Bai Xiaoxiao light-heartedly interrupted. Although she wasn’t very familiar with Qin Mu, she had ended up getting to know him well on the plane, when he swapped seats with Xiao Yuting and ended up sitting next to her.
“Xiaoxiao, if Qin Mu doesn’t welco you, no worries. I, on behalf of the people of A City, welco you!”
Moving a step closer, Luo Haofeng’s peach blossom eyes locked onto Bai Xiaoxiao, clearly indicating his ‘mischievous intentions’. Her view obstructed by his tall figure, her breathing mixed with his scent. In the face of public attention, Bai Xiaoxiao’s cheeks flushed a deep crimson.
